Such an awesome tutorial! I have no experience with hair cutting, but this was explained so well that I thought I could give it a try. My son’s hair turned out great! Thank you so much!!
@Pregg Pop that is the reason I started cutting my son's hair when he was able to sit up on his own. Getting him used to clippers has been very helpful
Omg thank you sooooo much for posting a realistic video of what a haircut with a baby/toddler is like. I’ve watched a bunch of them and the kids are like 4-5 and sitting perfectly still - not happening with a baby. My son is terrified of electric clippers, even very quiet ones. He’s 14 months old and has not had a haircut because of that. No salon for him due to COVID, so this mama has to try to cut his hair with scissors. Thanks again for this awesome video!
This is a great video! Getting ready to do my little one’s first cut and this has made me feel more confident. Also, I enjoyed watching that little cutie. He kept me laughing the whole time!
Thank you so much for this helpful video! I gave my two-year-old his first haircut and it went really well. Thanks for the simple, clear instruction and for using shears! Clippers are scary!
This is the best tutorial I keep coming back to! I was totally clueless about how to cut my son’s hair and this gave me the confidence to try it and it turned out great! Thank you ❤
This is a perfect tutorial! Your little guy had me in stitches. Just as squirmy as my 15 month old. But we did it! His crazy curls are cute again! Thank you so much ❤
It's a wonderful video! Exactly what I needed! I've watched many videos but yours is the best! Thank you very much. Real life it is, indeed :) The model is charming))
This video was so helpful! Gave me the confidence to cut my 12 month old son’s hair and it turned out great! Very easy and I’m so glad that I got to experience his first cut instead of someone else doing it!
I’m sooo nervous about my boys haircut but they have so much hair and it’s really getting into their eyes. This video is so helpful!!!!! I’m sure I’ll probably mess up their hair but this gives me so much confidence. Thank you!
Thank you for this video! My 2 yo has already had 4 professional haircuts (he has a lot of hair) using just shears. I've been wanting to clean up the sides to extend the length of time needed between cuts, but so many videos use clippers, so this is super helpful!
Thank you so much for your helpful video ...I was confident to cut my 15 month old boy his first haircut. It didn't turned out so good , but atleast I made it.. More power!
I'm having such a hard time using the comb and then cutting. I'm so uncoordinated since I'm new to doing this and I keep having to set the comb down to be able to grab baby's hair...he also has really fine hair and not as much hair as your babe. I had a hard time using the hair as a guide because of all of the putting comb down, picking back up, etc. I think I'll have to retouch the top and right side when he wakes up from his nap but he was done and so was I, lol! We shall see! Youre video is the best I've seen for tutorial with shears. Thank you!
Hi, Just want to say thank you for your tutorial. It helps me a lot. I've been imagine how i could cut my baby hair (1.1Y) for months because I don't want to use a clipper and I don't want to take him to Kid's Barber either because i saw babies are crying and it'll be a bad experience for my baby. I've been searching and watch many videos until I found you. And this afternoon I've successfully cut his hair. 🎉❤
What cutie!! Good work mama!I think he did so well! With my older kiddos I didn't start cutting my their hair until they were a bit older and could sit a bit more still! But I'm gonna try with my baby and this is the haircut I used to give my son when he was little. Before he started wanting fades and stuff lol This video is making me feel more confident! Thank you ❤️🌟
This was the perfect video. I am going to be cutting my grandsons hair this week. I have 3 grown boys and cut their hair but for some reason I kind of felt unsure about giving my grand baby his first haircut. I wanted to see someone else giving a haircut and your video was exactly what i was looking for. I cut the same way. Great video and PRECIOUS BABY BOY TOO!!! SO CUTE!
I used this tutorial for my baby boys first haircut. It came out so cute. I haven’t ever done this before and was very apprehensive. The results were very good. A little bit was left uneven as my baby was moving around like a worm. Overall a great video, with great results
A good simple to understand guide. I just gave my 10 month old a haircut. Waiting for it to dry to see how it turned out. He was super active and difficult so it did get a little messed up around his ears. But I hope it won't be very prominent.
Thank you sooooo much. A friend of my mother-in-law tried to cut my sons hair yesterday and it looks awful, because she just cut straight across the front and stopped because he was crying. Now I have to cut his hair myself. Your tutorial looks so helpful!
Just gave my wiggly 1.5 year old his first haircut. I was really enjoying his mullet but it was time. It looks really great, maybe a little wonky on the final step of blending through the sides, but good enough I think I will just leave it for now.
What a sweet little guy!! I think my boy is about the same age as yours here, I have no idea how I’ll keep him still. I’m nervous but going to try this! 😅
Better than the last haircut i got as an adult, a lot of barbers now cannot think outside of a haircut that involves shaving the sides of the head off. Hope my sons hair is cut as well as this video.
Thank you! Great tutorial. Clear instructions. I am Grateful you show a wiggly baby because I know mine will be too. I’ve seen a couple tutorials with babies sitting very still (pretty amazing). I know mine will move around. He is 20 months and haven’t had a haircut yet as I am dreading it. We cannot even clip his nails except perhaps one finger a day and still have to chase him to get it done. His hair is now a mess with funny long strands and his bangs are now going into his eyes. I am not sure I want to take him to a pro in these times so I might have to do it myself:(
This was so helpful!! Thank you!!!! My son is terrified of the salon even when he sits with dad, so it looks like I'm going to have to try it on my own. Your son is just so adorable, I can't believe he was sitting that still for you, mine will be getting up and running across the house. 😋❤
Now, THIS is exactly what I've been scouring TH-cam for! Can't tell ya how many videos say "scissors only" but still use clippers. Lol. Thank you so much for posting this. 🤩
Used this tutorial to give my little boy his first haircut. It came out wonderfully, I made a couple of small mistakes but they are not noticeable! I will absolutely be using this technique for him from now on! It was my first time doing a boys cut, if it’s your first time and you’re intimidated - don’t be!💙💙
My older boys hair grew out in such an easy way that I didn’t want to do toddler haircuts. However, my current 16 month old has a full on yellow mullet! This tutorial is perfect for what I need to do! I know it’s older but THANK YOU! My little dude wouldn’t let me get near him with clippers!
Thanks for this!! Any tips on how to do a point cut with a wiggly baby? My baby's fringe is so straight because by the time i get to the front of his head, he's about done and i have to finish up quickly! Also scary for me to put the scissors towards his face while doing a point cut! I'd love for him not to live with a bowl cut from his mumma! ❤
When you are doing the top of the head and you said you are pulling sections and keep pulling back so you can use the previous cut pieces as a guide, I can't ever see the previously cut pieces, as soon as I move over all the previously cut pieces blend in and it's wet so I can't see
Ugh I did this and the hair on top of his head now looks choppy (like steps horizontally across the top of his head). Even tried using thinning shears to blend afterward but it didn't help much. Any tips on how to make this problem go away?
What scissors did you use? Brought some the other day and was a fail before we started lol. For some reason the scissors weren't cutting at the end of the blade so obviously they where faulty. Don't want to waste more money buying another bad pair. If you could recommend any that would be great Thx
I have a couple questions! Can I follow this but with dry hair? And also, my sons hair doesn’t usually style to the side, and is usually only in the front. Can I still follow this?
Haven't cut a little ones hair since my kids were young. Now I'm a grandma my son and his wife want me to cut my grandsons hair. I'm no professional just been cutting families hair. Wasn't sure if I should cut his top since it's so much thinner and hasn't grown out like the back yet. But good tips here.
Well she is so patient . The baby is getting more aggravated than the mommy cutting the hair having to chase his lil head around to cut it but co spidering he's doing good.
Gonna try this on my 5M old his hair, just a little trim. His hair is sometimes in his eyes and makes him itchy. Yes I tried to comb but babies will be babies
Well, I am 42 now, but I remember like it was yesterday my mom sitting me down and cutting my hair with sheers. It seemed like it took for ever. She did use the clippers when I got a bit older but yes….. I remember those days….. she would cut my hair using the sheers. Now,,,,, as an adult I do have a couple sets of sheers, and a mountain of clippers and trimmers. I do cut my own hair and I am totally blind. I find it very easy to do and it is like basically shaving. Having felt the way my mom cut my hair and yes. Having to go to the barber in my school days as well, I ot the feeling of how my mom, and the barber would cut my hair. Well, now I do it myself. It is super easy….. just like shaving but you are using a much bigger machine and the area is totally different. It’s not your face it is your head. And using the trimmer along side with the clipper it is just like using the clipper but on a very smaller scale. I absolutely love cutting my own hair because I don’t have to tell anyone how to cut it or when I want it cut.
❤❤❤❤ i transformed my 2 year old from a beatles fan to something modern looking. Thank you for the tutorial 🙏
Such an awesome tutorial! I have no experience with hair cutting, but this was explained so well that I thought I could give it a try. My son’s hair turned out great! Thank you so much!!
Love this!!! What a cutie !! I am going to try and give my little one a trim. Tired of ppl saying I have a beautiful little girl 🤦♀️
Same thing’s been happening to my kid too!
So many videos use clippers. Thank you for doing one with scissors. Very helpful.
I’m so glad you found it helpful!
Agreed!
Yess. I'm so glad I found you!!
I agree! My guy is barely a year and it the clippers don't freak him out, but he absolutely wants to play with them and look at them the entire time

Gave my 11 month old the cutest cut thanks to this video. Thank you!
You are so welcome!
Your son is so cute. Thank you for the tutorial. I found it helpful, especially when he started wiggling around.
Thanks for this great tutorial!! By far the best I’ve seen!👌🏼
This is great, thank you! I'm trying to save money and this will help so much! Glad to see a wiggly baby like I'm sure mine will be!
I enjoyed your video. Do you have any pointers for dealing with a double crown?

I have a baby that has a long bang in front (shaped like a v) I would like it to go to the side. Would I cut at an angle or across like you did?

Thanks so much for putting up this video. Totally readied me for what it would be like, the haircut was super simple, and my little one looks so cute!
What kind of scissors do you recommend for the mom-home-haircut?
I would recommend these amzn.to/3SVZROn they will last longer than a cheap pair and will stay sharp longer as well.
Need the tips thanks 😁
This helped me out so much! Thanks!
Gonna try this on my 5M old his hair, just a little trim. His hair is sometimes in his eyes and makes him itchy. Yes I tried to comb but babies will be babies

Can I do this on a 7 month old? Or should I wait till he’s 1 year old? My baby is VERY wriggly though 😌
Hugely helpful! I think I did a better job than the $30 professional haircut I got my baby ;)
How do you choose what side to part the hair on?
Depends if there are any cowlicks. So which way the hair prefers. If not, then just preference!
So adorable 🥰 🥰 🥰
