Excellent!!!! People may already have a beach cart and don’t even know. I have one of those in my garage and this conversion NEVER crossed my mind!

After trying to drag a wagon across the beach I realized you got to have the big tires but none of those carts fold up. I knew someone had to have made something like this because the cart looked just like my rack with wheels on it. Thanks for sharing the video.

No problem and yes the wide balloon tires are a must. I have a blue style that if it get a hole you can heat the tire with an hot piece of metal and it will seal its self

Awesome idea! The Fish-N-Mate LG with same 15" orange wheels will run you $279.00. What this DYI cart can do that the Fish-N-Mate can't is slide into a hitch at the end of the day. I have two SUV's with hitches so your DYI option better suits me. If I still had a truck I would buy the Fish-N-Mate. Thank you for making this video. I got some ideas I didn't think of from it. The main start point is 1. Pick a aluminum cargo carrier and 2. Absolutely make sure it has a square channel that the black reciever can slide in and out of. I saw several aluminum cargo carriers that did not have the channel built underneath.
Thank you again for taking time to share your very cool DYI project!

Been brainstorming this exact idea. Glad I found your video. I already have the same cargo carrier and have been thinking of making the square tubing longer, or using a drop hitch adapter to allow the cart to stay assembled. Therefore I can detach and go, and leave the cooler on the cart during transport.

I have mine setup with pens so I can slide it off the hitch or leave the hitch on and use it that way thanks for watching hope you subscribed if you did that’s for that also

I used the swivel front wheels off a wheel chair for the front. They work great !!!👍

good Job! this is exactly what I want to do. but I would put caster wheels in the other end to balance out the weight.

A nice simple build! A friend of mine built one like this, using the Cargo Hauler from Harbor Freight. He made his a push cart with 4 wheels, he uses an 18” hitch extension & leaves all wheels & everything on it. Also he used aluminum square tubing & welded up a bracket that attaches to the the hitch sticking out the side that holds chairs & an umbrella. & with 2 solid axels it will handle about 600#’s. He can put 100qt yeti loaded with ice & with the rack, still haul all his fishing stuff, chairs, umbrella & more.

I like your idea, and have the same cargo carrier that I'm going to adapt. I observed that it is quite a bit of work to assemble the tires. Have you thought of adding a second set of hubs along the the top, like your fishing pole carriers. If you allowed the axels to extend past the hubs you could use quick clips to allow the axels to be removed. This way you could use quick clips to slide out the axels and slide them into a second hub from the top down, allowing protection from dragging. Just a thought, and how I'll try to finish mine. Thanks for the ideas.

you could replace your axle screws with pins and same with your two bolts in receiver channel. Pull four pins instead of messing with bolts. Other that that...ezPz

Instead of using bolts for the hitch tube use the same type of pin used to secure the rack to your truck.

Good job. I'd use 2 pins to attach the receiver instead of nuts and bolts to eliminate needing a wrench or losing hardware'
