  • If you enjoyed the video, please like and subscribe. I was repairing the Optimus LAB - 1100 fully automatic turntable, but the process should be the same for any other turntable.

My old Fisher MT-6117 semi-auto is starting to make an intermittent scraping sound as the table rotates, not sure if something is stuck in between the table and body or something else? I'm going to investigate. I investigated it, saw there's a plastic piece that was broken at the bottom of the platter, this part is split, but I managed to glue the broken part and it doesn't scrape for now, but it's not a permanent repair. Probably need to 3D print this part.

Could also check eBay for your exact model and get it there if it's not too old. Best of luck man!

I bought one of these models today but it plays at slightly too fast a speed. Any advice on how to remedy this problem? Cheers.

As you already probably know, there’s a speed button on the front. When it’s pushed down, it plays faster to play 45’s. If that’s not it, there’s a line out or phono out at the top of the turntable. You can access it if you take off the rubber mat and position one of the access holes at the top, you should see the switch. If that doesn’t work, unplug it and plug it back in (disconnect from receiver as well). If that doesn’t work, perhaps you could disconnect the belt from the belt drive system and reconnect it. If none of those work. Someone has probably had a similar or close experience and gave a solution on Reddit or Quora. If you still can’t find anything, I think as a last resort you could bring it to a turntable repairman.

@@jackrandom2786 Thanks for your reply. I found what the problem is, there's a speed adjustment on the bottom of the unit that you put a screw driver in and turn left for slower and right for faster.
      Cheers.
