Glad you like Latvia, from Latvia here. In the summer it is very warm and beautiful, in winter it can be a bit bleak. You can find a lot of open places also in winter, some of them in the central part of town some of them on the outskirts. But the old town is usually more active during summer and on xmas as you said. In january there is a small period of time when things kind of cool down and it was really cold here, like - 25 C just a week ago.
Yes, I love Latvia. Next time I want to go a bit off the beaten path, visit more of the country side. The lowest temperature I've ever encountered was minus 22, one time in Estonia and the other time in Ukraine. Minus 25 or 30 would be nice. I have to come next winter!

Hi, We liked your video it is very informative and right on point. Planning to visit Uzbekistan in May and would like to know if it’s easy to find a hotel while arriving Tashkent or booking before arriving is better? And was your Sim Card and phone working alright while staying in Uzbekistan? Cheers
Hey, guys! I'm very happy you enjoyed it. More Uzbek videos coming very soon. About the hotel in Tashkent, it depends a lot when you arrive. I landed at night, so it was good to have something booked in advance (the hotel in the description). They even sent someone to pick me up at the airport, so I don't need to negotiate a price with the taxi drivers waiting at the airport. It's fun to try your haggling skills with the local taxis as well, but maybe not when you have just arrived, tired, and at night on top of that. You can book more hotels in advance, or if you wanna be super flexible, just book for the first night in Tashkent and then always decide one day before where you want to go ( Samarkand, Bukhara, etc) and book only one or 2 days before. It really depends how much time you have and how flexible you are. Some hotels may be sold out faster than others. Check the one I had in Samarkand. That one surely needs to be booked a few weeks in advance. The SIM card was alright. Decent in the cities, not amazing in smaller, rural locations. Pretty terrible during the long train rides, but I'm not sure you can find any better. Haha!

Hi, what are you doing in Uzbekistan in such an awful weather? Such a trip is ideal in the Summer other than in the Winter time. If you wanna make a beautiful journey then, Armenia is also a beautiful country to visit. It's also a cheap country to enjoy being there & it's ppl are very friendly, but in the Summer time. Good luck😊
Hi there and welcome to my channel! I love receiving insightful comments like yours. I actually enjoy travelling a bit off season because there are not so many people around (as in tourists) and I get to feel the "real feel" of the place. Summer in Uzbekistan would probably be too hot for me anyway. I'm gonna spend some time here, so I am expecting to launch some dozens of videos from this country. Hope you'll stick around. Armenia is DEFINITELY on my list. I cannot wait to get there actually. I've read so many good things about it... Plus about some so-called hidden spots. Will be there soon!
I spent 18 years in Uzbekistan and fall/winter time is most certainly a good time to visit. The summer experience is basically Phoenix, Arizona and no one wants that.
@@nedomacho Summer in the mid Asian countries is longer and warmer. What I meant is the end of Summer till mid Fall. This is the perfect time to enjoy being there😊 Staying in Uzbekistan for 18 years means you know almost everything about it, it's ppl, its culture & the language, I guess🤔. The question is how did you stay all this long time in a country which is different in everything to you, culture, habits, the way of living, language, climate etc...? What makes it different or special that made you decide & prefer living there?🤗

@@lazeez_k Surely. A beer in London is about 130,000 Som. A pack of cigs is about 240,000 Som. Going out for dinner, the cheap way, would probably be 300,000 Som per person. London has some VERY unfriendly prices! 😆
@@WhereDoWeTravelNowyes mate, cigs and beer of course cheaper, (human life is generally cheap around here) but good dinner for a person is in a ballpark that of you say in London.
I was very satisfied with U Cell. In the cities you don't have any connection problems. It's not the most reliable when you are in the desert, the connection is often lost when you're on the train, but that happens with the other providers as well, I guess. I had a decent signal even in Muynak and other smaller places in Karakalpakstan, so I'd say it's pretty good. I am not sure about the airport exchange though. I'd only exchange a really small amount there, and the rest in the city. Or arrange a pick-up with the hotel, give them $5 or something (or $10) and exchange the money in Tashkent the next day, like I did. I don't think the airport rate is the same, even though they advertise it this way.

This is the perfect time to enjoy being there😊
Staying in Uzbekistan for 18 years means you know almost everything about it, it's ppl, its culture & the language, I guess🤔.
The question is how did you stay all this long time in a country which is different in everything to you, culture, habits, the way of living, language, climate etc...? What makes it different or special that made you decide & prefer living there?🤗
@@nedomacho Sorry, I didn't pay attention to the name. I thought that the both comments for the owner of the channel, but never mind to address you both with the same comment😇🤗
@@nedomacho Exactly. I am complaining already when it's like 28°C (82.4 °F), but a summer in Uzbekistan is something I would not even survive 😅😆
You re actually pretty good at pronouncing ' som ' 😅 , just like a native
Haha thanks a lot my friend, I'm trying my best 🤩🇺🇿🇺🇿🇺🇿
Whie it is true that Credit cards are barely used by anyone, debit cards are accepted everywhere.
I guess more and more places become modern nowadays. It's still good to have some cash, for bazaar and such places. Cheers, mate! 😊🇺🇿
Broo, ipi literally live there rn
It's a really cool place, isn't it? Loved my time in Tashkent 🤩🇺🇿
Uzbek sila 🇺🇿
😍🤩🇺🇿🇺🇿
Prices are not friendly, btw. It's just as expensive as in London
Yeah
Prices in Tashkent are higher than in Urgench, Hiva and many other Cities
The traffic here feels like everyone is at nascar lol
Good one, mate! Thanks for the comment 🤩🇺🇿
Was U Cell generally good for you? I am looking to buy my SIM from Tashkent Airport and also exchange my money when I land there.
Never ever exchange currency at an airport
Я работал в этом отеле и в Эко кафе)))
это потрясающе! такое прекрасное место. мне очень понравилось время, проведенное в ташкенте и узбекистане в целом. 😊🇺🇿🇺🇿
about credit cards, we usually use them actually hahah

I am uzbek but I dont agree with you. Cards are really popular here. I live in the Tashkent too .I don't keep any cash with even when I go to the market. Card is available everywhere
I guess that didn't age well. Of course these things change over time. I've read some articles about cards in Uzbekistan, maybe a few years back it was a different story. Hope you enjoyed the video though 🤩🇺🇿
