Romário as Striker he is underrated. In Europe , people say about Ronaldo , however , Romário is the same level or better. Here in Brazil , he is very respected as R9.

He was for the first time in the major EUROPEAN club stage, bc he had played for a long time in the Brazilian league, which in the 80s and 90s was stronger, had much greater talent and was way more entertaining than most european leagues. Only towards the end of the 90s that the Brazilian League became weaker than the europeans. Romario is a perfect example of my point, a demi-god, one of the greatest to ever play the game, and spent 90% of his career in the Brazilian League.

Outros tempos...em que a limitação de estranjeiros na europa antes do mercado comum fazia estas coisas, e um jogador destes ficou na holanda o tempo que ficou...o tempo era outro mesmo...mas também ele foi para o campeão europeu na altura...o psv tinha um time muito embaçado, muito duro e pragmatico...naqueles anos do Romário e antes, ninguém gostava de apanhar o psv, depois com o formato champions as coisas se alteraram...

What makes Romario so special is that all his great play is pure talent. Which can take you up to a level. My guess is that this is what happened with Ronaldo (not Christiano) as well. These guys were born great players but they failed to challenge themselves further.
