Fantastic job! Amazing. You had all that cloudiness at the peak because the Greek gods had mist machines going for an 80’s hair band heavy metal video. 🎸🎤🎼
Creepy forest, 10 meter visibility, scary gate wow that was right up my street 😆 the view!! I mean no view 😆 I mean 2 time views were stuning! St George Castle looking impressive too. And that lovely lunch time special 👍🙂
Wow, the views from the road are amazing! You guys really haven't had good luck with the weather. So glad you got to go back and see it on a clearer day. Those views are stunning and definitely worth a second climb! And what a cool place to watch the sunset! What a perfect day!
Wow you guys made it! Noone is there, so windy and foggy but you two made the best of it! Love all the aerial shots, the sceneries are incredible. The cafe you stopped by is so cute and that's a huge lunch! The castle has also such beautiful views, thanks for taking us along with you!
It's crazy to see all the damage done from the hurricane. So glad that you guys made it back up there on a clear day. WOW the views are crazy amazing...so worth it! I LOVE the time lapse footage of all the clouds. Your lunch looked yummy! You can't go wrong with feta and olives. Funny, my daughter always orders chicken nuggets and fries...and I always end up finishing it for her!
We were so happy that you decided to make the hike again when it was less cloudy. It was great to experience it both ways. I really like the spookiness of the first hike, but obviously the views from the summit were so much better the second time around. Ending the day with a sunset view from the castle was perfect!
We watched it each morning to try and re summit without cloud. No matter how sunny the day was, the mountain seemed to always have cloud gathering around it. The second time we re climbed was about as clear as we saw it the entire time we were on the island (1 month) it was so worth a second climb and it’s not too difficult as mountains go 😊
The first time you climbed it was so eerie. The mist, grey sky, and lack of people seemed a bit creepy. The second time with the clear skies seemed much more appealing!! And great views. 👌 That's dedication to do that climb twice. But the area seemed to have great views.
It was getting so eerie the higher we climbed the first time, especially as we stopped seeing people after a while. So glad we went back for a sunny visit with views over the island ⛰
Just found your channel guys- what a pleasure to watch your content! It’s so nice to see people really appreciating life and nature & other cultures. Greece is my paradise on earth! Sending love & best wishes from Yorkshire x
How awesome that you were able to do the hike twice, the second time is definitely beautiful from the peak especially with the drone of the mountains and the turquoise sea water. Although you weren't able to see much the first time the moody stormy views were pretty cool in the forest. Definitely damage there but it seems like it could have been way worse!
It was really cool to see the contrast between the two times that we did it. Summiting the same mountain twice seemed crazy, especially when the island is full of gorgeous beaches we could be relaxing on all day!😁We wanted to get those views though!
What a fantastic video! I'm so glad I watched this. It is so well done and a pleasure to watch. I went to Kefalonia four times a few years ago and Mount Ainos once, and this video brings back so many brilliant memories. I really enjoyed the fascinating journey back down the forest side too, it was like an added bonus instead of us backtracking. This has reminded me how much I'm looking forward to going back at some point. The whole island really has something special about it. Thank you and very best wishes!
We enjoyed your video! We loved your story...and a huge like for your channel, +1 sub! Greetings from Greece, hope you enjoyed your time here...and waiting for the upcoming video form Melissani Lake!!
Hahaha Kirsty, my hair also becomes a frizzy ball with weather like you had. What a climb, so glad you guys were committed and did it again, it was definitely worth it, well for me it was cause I got to sit back and see you guys doing all the work 😂 I am so surprised you guys actually saw where you were going, it was crazy misty up there. Wow the drone footage from when you guys went back was epic. The Castle and the sunset was so so so beautiful guys. This adventure in Greece is so beautiful.
@@BukiSpears It’s a lovely little climb and easy to navigate, you drive to the start point then walk the trail, maybe take a close look at the bit in this video where Craig points out the map as that’s the only slightly confusing part, we helped others find the correct bit, you have to turn right of the path and head into the foresty part. Enjoy it’s beautiful!
Wow guys, this hike looks amazing. It looks a little apocalyptic when you guys were hiking through the clouds. Loved the little geology lesson Craig😁 and those drone shots from the top were incredible. This is definitely something we are going to add to our list of things to do when we one-day visit Kefalonia😁 That castle is beautiful. It reminds us of castle ruins we visited when we were in Bratislava 😁
Shame it was cloudy the first time but love your commitment in going a second time and so great you had good luck! 😍it’s so beautiful! Even just driving around there looks amazing, rain or sun! ❤️ Scary and shame to hear about the landslides recently but happy it was safe to get up there pretty soon after.
Stunning view from the mountain top! The aftermath of the strom looks relatively mild considering how scary it looked on camera. Looks like you are avid climbers. Have you done the National (or Yorkshire) Three Peaks challenge back in the UK? Before heading off to Everest base camp I could recomend doing something easier, like Elbrus (the highest peak in Europe). I went there with some friends on 7th of July 2007 (7/7/7) and it was brutal! The weather changed mid way through our final ascent and we couldn't even reach the "saddle". But it was still worth it. We climbed from the North, which is the original route but it's more dangerous as it is pretty much disconnedted from civilisation. Southern side is more "touristy" with ski lifts, hotels, etc. Alternatively, you could climb Mont Blanc, which is a tad shorter and you won't need visas to get there.
We have a few more scenes of the aftermath of the storm coming up, some areas were a lot worse but we moved to this side of the island as it was less damaged (hence it had power back on). We haven’t done all 3 peaks we have done 1 of them, Skafell Pike (the biggest in England) we planned to do Snowdon a few years ago and it got cancelled due to work commitments but we’d like to do it at some point. Elbrus sounds like a great idea too, how long did it take to get as far as you did with Elbrus?
@@TideKnotTravellers It was a 10 days journey. After a short bus ride from Kislovodsk to Khurzuk it's a 6 days hike to the high camp, a day of rest, then the summit day (our failed attempt), then 2 days to get back to Kislovodsk via Dzhily-Su. To get there we took a train from Tallinn to St. Petersburg, then another train to Moscow, then a flight to Mineralnye Vody, and a coach to Kislovodsk. After the hike it was pretty much the same trip in reverse.
@@gbrdhvndi that's quite a journey! Shame you didn't quite get to summit. We may keep that in mind for future as it looks really cool, for now we've already been through that whole Russian visa process to get there in 2020 so the thought of doing that again too soon doesn't appeal just yet!😅

Love watching the videos guys, we’re going to Kefalonia for the first time in August, you’ve given us some great ideas for places to visit. Do you know if the restaurants accept card payments or do they prefer cash
Thank you 😊some of the restaurants accept card but some are cash only, we got caught out one night after dinner and drinks and had to walk to a cash point the other end of Argostoli to draw out cash as they said their card systems were down again, it seemed to happen fairly often. Have a lovely time, maybe have card and cash to allow for both options.
Beautiful! How long did the hike take you guys? And do you remember which trail you took? There seems be quite a few trails to take with varying difficulty from what I found online- planning a trip to Kefalonia this August, thanks so much!
We drove and parked in the main car park, from there we took the trail which starts from there, it took about an hour, hence we did it twice to see it on a sunny day!
