70mai A810 running firmware 1.1.57ww
For more details, please check out my comparison and notes on DashCamTalk forum under 70mai, A810 subforum.

I just ordered the A810. Glad to see there's no flickering from LED taillights compared to the top one!
Hello, I enjoyed the video. thanks it helps a lot.
What is the bitrate?
In addition, is there any front tinting?
I observed the 70mai A810 front camera to record at ~31.09Mbit/s vs Viofo A139 Pro ~45.94Mbit/s with maximum bitrate selected.
For the rear camera, 70mai recorded at ~8.26Mbit/s and Viofo was at ~16.39Mbit/s.
Do note that these bitrates are in H.265 mode for both cameras, so the bitrates cannot be directly compared against H.264 bitrates.
Also, there is no front tinting. Only the rear has factory tinting. Please find my comprehensive review on the DashCamTalk forum.
What’s the battery drain like when operating in parking/surveillance mode? Thank you
I had put a diode to raise the cutoff voltage as the hardwire kit doesn't have a cutoff voltage selector. I haven't had any issues with battery drain on my car but this is a YMMV per car issue.
why you don't use CPL len kit ? I think every car should use it all time.
Hi! Any chance to see a similar comparison with the MiVue 955W?
Hi! Sorry, I don't happen to have one of these units, but seeing that the MiVue is powered by Sony Starvis 1, I would assume it is an IMX415 sensor. You should find another review video comparing the 70mai A800 or A800S with the A810 and you should see similar results. Hope this helps!
@@RaincityDashcam thanks! For some reason i thought the mivue 955w is also using starvis 2, hence the question, but you confirmed its not.
At 1:34 I noticed the speed indicated in 70mail is 27km/h but in viofo its 35. which was the more accurate reading?
70mai refreshes its speed and GPS coordinates every ~1s. I found the Viofo to refresh every ~2s-3s.
It's funny to see that speedometer on either of those are not working properly. 70mai is not really showing any speed until the car stops at 0:59 and suddenly decides to show that information, where Viofo is all over the place showing 31 km/h when the car is complete stopped.
That's because actually both were just starting up and haven't acquired GPS. I found the Viofo to only refresh the speed after every 2s while the 70mai actually refreshed every 1s after GPS signal was acquired.
Timed Auto HDR means HDR is turned on only after dark.
Yes, that is correct. As per users on DashCamTalk (rcg530 & Panzer Platform), they suggest that Timed HDR is best as HDR really performs well in low light situations but not as well on the daytime situations. If anything, the 70mai would be at a disadvantage as it only has options for On or Off.
@@RaincityDashcam HDR is a picture enhancing function. So it should only make the picture better but never worse. The problem of HDR is that it is CPU intensive, therefore if a dashcam is capable of 60fps, having HDR turned on may bring it down to 30fps. That is only a problem when a license plate is moving very very fast, say, your relative speed is very high 80mph + 80mph ~= 160mph. It is not a problem at night because with all the low light, you are not going to read a license plate anyway. fast or slow.
@@egaskrad I'm sorry, I'm not aware of any 4K IMX678 dash cam recording at 60fps with or without HDR? The only instance I see is the Viofo A139 Pro allowing for 60fps on 2K MODE ONLY. U3000 doesn't even offer HDR nor does it even offer 60fps on 4K mode.
It has been proven that HDR is not always a "picture enhancing function" and there ARE scenarios where it does make the picture worse for the A139 Pro at least. On the other hand, 70mai only has On or Off settings... but we do see some different image processing between the two. If HDR on always were to be good, why would the timed setting even exist on the Viofo one?
@@RaincityDashcam because it is CPU intensive? I don't know. I have seen testing on other reviews and they mentioned once you have HDR setting on, certain restriction applied, such as a drop of fps. but you are right, those reviews ran on older IMX models. other than a logical projection, I do not have anything to support my statement.
@@egaskrad I think it is CPU constraints. For the 70mai, NT98529BG may be a new generation but we can see with HDR or not, it’s still capped at 25fps when in dual channel mode, but Viofo claims that the NT96660 is more powerful albeit older (they also said that it’s still the most expensive CPU).
As for certain function restrictions, to the best of my knowledge, I don’t think I’ve noticed any restrictions with HDR On or Off for both models.
Both 100 percent even
