nice work but I recommend slowing down a little bit that flail will mulch the grass quite well and help fertilize your lawn.

I use a BCS walk behind tractor with 33” flail but it’s setup to about an inch to half inch for grass weeds I do this by putting tractor and flail on concrete and measuring distance from blade to concrete then adjust drum roller to get required distance.

What you have are knives, not hammers. You clearly don’t know what your talking about and should change the title of your video. Knives and hammers are not interchangeable and doing so will cause severe damage to your drum and PTO. There’s a considerable weight difference between the two and the drum is counterbalanced at the factory specifically to one or the other. If you have knives and you want to convert to hammers, you have to buy a drum specific for hammers.

Stop!! Nothing wrong with those flail blades you are throwing away. You only need to replace the when both sides are worn round! The corner is the part that wears. They do not need to be sharpened!! And like i said once one side is rounded off you simply turn them around and then when both sides are rounded you can replace them. Hope you kept the old ones. I would also recommend a thick blade they also last longer. You can also get stamped duck foot blades as well as the cast hammers. My favorite is the y blades like yours. Only thicker. Good video otherwise. Thanks

I didn't get good pictures of the ones that were already changed out. They were in Bad shape. Some missing. Main reason for changing is that this is an old piece of equipment. I went through the whole thing mechanically. Wanted all the blades to be equal length and quality. Now it is almost a new machine! Of course I kept the old blades, That way I have replacements. It is good to know that everything under there is Brand Spanking New Now.

Where did you get your blades and clevis shackles? I’m having trouble finding replacements for my flail mower. Only found one store that carries them and there way over priced. By the time I buy all new blades and shackles from them in the amount I need. I’m only $500 less then a brand new flail mower.

Here is a link for Alamo. They can put you in contact with your local parts dealer. Or you can always try amazon. www.alamo-group.com/our-products/equipment-categories/rotary-mowers.html
