    AFFILIATE LINK DISCLOSURE: Friends, making a quality Loloho video is kind of like making sausage - only slightly more violent. It's a ridiculous amount of work that typically involves high dollar camera drops, blue-screen-of-death computer crashes, and at least one angry shotgun wielding old man shouting, “Hey! Get the hell outta here!” Once the final video is posted, rewards here on TH-cam are few and far between (unless you are a masochist who enjoys being verbally abused by anonymous trolls). One saving grace is our affiliate links. JUST CLICKING THESE LINKS HELPS TO SUPPORT OUR LITTLE SHOW. Think of this clicking as like tipping - except that it doesn't cost you anything extra! If you eventually make a purchase via one of our affiliate links, we will receive a few pennies (and Sean typically invests these pennies in duct tape and video gear). Again, it doesn't cost you anything to click these links, and it's a great help to us. As always, safe travels, happy camping, and THANK YOU!

      In a sense, the video itself serves as a promotional vehicle for the current vehicle of choice for vehicular enthusiasts who want a vehicle that drives like a vehicle from the future but looks like a vehicle from another planet, making every other vehicle on the road seem like a vehicle from the past! (Just working on my script for the next video.)

    Loved the red wrap. Well done! Pretty cool truck. With Seemore, you can 'recharge' in about 5 min and be back on the road for another 330+ miles while towing an RV. You never have to worry about disconnecting your RV to get access to a charging station.

      How does that Seemore 'recharge' happen when you're home? I plug in my EV and it takes 5 seconds. I unplug and it takes 6 seconds. 11 seconds rather than 5 minutes, and it's from the place I've parked for years-- in my garage. My EV leaves my garage topped up every morning if I want. How come you're not talking about this?

      It's been done with an F150 Lightning by TFL. Actually, they took it all the way to Deadhorse, Alaska, which is one of the most northern points of Alaska. CyberTruck will likely do better as there are more superchargers, it has better efficiency and better suspension (air suspension) that would be really helpful in the roads leading to north Alaska.

    • @BillUtah
      @BillUtah 27 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

      @@ranig2848actually they took it to Canada, put it on boat then started in Alaska. Also they had ANOTHER F150 follow it for charging capabilities the whole trip.
      So it hasn’t been to Alaska on its own.

    • @ranig2848
      @ranig2848 27 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@BillUtah He said "take one to Alaska" 😅... as for the other F150, they did not use it. It was a backup - which is understandable as they were the first to try it. Tesla would have been easier as there are more charging options for it (they said it in the video). It was also a year ago and with the rate of EV chargers (over 10,000 installed in 2023), I'm pretty sure it would be easier today, and definately possible to drive all the way from California to deadhorse with a CyberTruck. You can always stop at a campground to charge from 50 amp outlet. It might take longer but it's definately possible and would become easier with time. Most of the nationwide gas indrastructure was built in a couple of decades. Building charging stations is easier since there's electricity (almost) everywhere. Even in Alaska.

    I took my 2023 GMC Canyon in to the dealership for a little work and was given the opportunity to drive an EV (Chev Blazer). Great experience.
    I like what Shawn said, that for most everyday driving a EV works well (Pickup or other). I rarely drive more than 200 km a day, so I would rarely recharge anywhere but at home.
    I do think, that for those who tow long distances (600-800km in a day), the EV will need to really plan and be willing to take longer breaks for charging then filling a Fuel Tank with traditional fuels.
    Very interesting vehicle. Thanks for the video.

    No, not for towing. before deciding drive a new truck(Ford) with the 6.7. I have had a 91, 92, 93, 97, 08, 13, 16 F-350. On all of those trucks, until the 6.7 came out, I was pleased if I did not loose speed going uphill. We towed a 4 horse living quarter trailer back then 43 foot long. I was traveling to a horse show in Gonzales LA and while going on I-10 up the steep bridge heading west getting into New Orleans I just did a test and let the truck/trailer slow to about 50. As we got onto the bridge I pressed the accelerator, not to the floor, and the truck accelerated up that steep bridge.

    Like it. We live full-time in our Caravel 19cb. We are old and slow travelers, meaning, we don't drive more than 200 miles a day. We are in the rural Dakotas now, so using it would require an extra bit of planning. Our Gladiator (Max Tow Package) only has 62,000 miles on it, so we'll be using it for a while. Jeep and Airstream are paid for, so I'm happy to be happy with our rig.

    One of my brothers had a 1968 Ford Fairlane fastback when I was a kid. The discussion about removing the mirror in the Cybertruck reminded me of something he used to say. The steeply sloped rear window was a huge piece of glass, but in the mirror it looked like a _mail slot._ This review didn't change my previous impression that the Cybertruck is a fun toy, but not the right tool for long-distance spontaneous road tripping. When I'm towing a travel trailer I'm selective about refueling stops, because I want easy access to fill up and exit while still hitched. Charging stations aren't generally laid out with long straight lanes, and backing a trailer in a crowded parking lot is inconvenient. BTW: Tesla has just announced cutbacks in expansion of the charging network. I wouldn't count on continued rapid improvement of the infrastructure for the next few years.

    • @bigjohnd1973

    Defined as an around town hauler, it seems to fit the bill.
    Short Trip, Cargo, Time to Return to Recharge.
    For hauling beyond the convenience of around town:
    What is the total transit time for use as a Tow Vehicle.
    Drive, Charge, Drive, Charge,,, for a typical 350 - 500 travel day. Under 8 hours of driving, spread over intermittent charging, this could be 12 hours? (Assuming a flat road with a tail wind?)
    The mileage does not seem to calculate towed weight and terrain over the expected course. (8,000 pounds, through Wyoming, Drag Ratio of Trailer, Elevation Ascent-Descent, Distance to, and availability of charging stations.
    I would expect that the ability to make a reservation at the charging station and the restaurant you sit in while you recharge should be offered in the Computer processing of Total Transit Time including the incorporation of weather and traffic. The additional accessories would also need to be included. Outside Temp, Inside Temp Req's(A.C/Heating), Predicted use of Windshield Wipers, Blinkers(passing, lane change, turning, braking), Rear Viewing Station Operation, Phone charging, Sound Source and Speaker use.
    Additionally, the transit speed(towing laws within the state) would also expected to be included in the algorithm.
    A fair assessment would derive from acknowledgement of the Ground Rules and Assumptions that are used in the Performance Envelope. This would show the benefits and features of each vehicle for its intended purpose. The Tesla Truck establishes production, regains R&D costs, and moves forward with the brand and its capabilities.
    The consistency of Diesel as a predictable fuel for energy demands and the capacity of the resource suggest that Seemore has a long and pampered life ahead of him.
    A trailer pull through charging station with shore power to sit in the Trailer?
    A vehicle charger for detached trailers?
    Any use of electricity reduces the Vehicle comfort, conveniences or range. Range is fixed to align with the next charging location, so for safety reasons the charging location accomplishment is the top priority.
    Longlive Seemore! or Here Come the Cracker Barrels!

    Still a neat concept. Tesla needs to come out with a compatible camper series. That the battery from it could actually power the truck for extended range. It will be a problem of having to d/c to charge at stations.
    Still would like to see you guys get one and use it.

      Lawdy. EV data has shown that they are 20% as likely to catch fire as that vehicle you have with the gasoline bomb strapped under it. And you can leave an EV on for days in a garage and survive, surprisingly. They did that in Texas during the big freeze. Not so much with a gas car.

    • @scottleggejr
      @scottleggejr 21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Your sample is every gas car ever made. Tesla likes to skew data to their advantage like how the model 3 is the best selling car but they add model Y numbers to it. My buddy is a firefighter for a top 5 major us city and puts out 2:1 EV to gas car fires at this point in homes. @@DelPhonic1

      I suggest you investigate the workings of an EV car fire. Too much of the warts are not being provided to the public. A runaway EV fire involves first off-gassing with the vehicle exploding. The off gasses are siuch that inhaling them will kill you, period. There is no coughing and then all is well. The most common time an EV has an issue is when it is charging. Regarding your "20%" figure, is that taking into account the number of cars on the road?

    I also like the Cybertruck, and feel it's a very well thought out vehicle. However, for camping that's another story. Besides the towing range limitations, there are two significant considerations to think about. 1. You'll most likely need to be unhitched from the Airstream to use the Tesla charger (imagine the logistics on that one...) 2. I've started noticing campgrounds with new rules about no charging EVs being allowed popping up more and more. We have a small Class C (Minnie Winnie) here in Texas, and on our last trip we stopped at a few RV parks that clearly stated no EV charging allowed. However, we also have a Volkswagon ID.4 EV, and have taken it to a Texas State Park. We bring the Level 2 (i.e. slow rate) charging cable along, and I was able to plug into a 30 amp receptacle. It took about 4-5 hours to top off the battery. I even mentioned it to the park rangers, and they said as long as I was paying for the campsite it was okay.

    What is the Payload capacity? Will it autolevel after putting weight on the hitch? How can you see behind the RV when it’s hitched to the Tesla? Does it have the ability to view an rv rear camera on the teslas big screen? Does it auto hitch like a Ford? Does it have a trailer brake control? Electric over hydraulic? Does it have a hitch capable of weight distribution? Heads up display?

      It’s way cheaper fuel, and it’s a more responsible choice. I like being more responsible- I don’t know about others. I can go on in a hundred different ways how it is clearly superior.

    I still have a couple of gas vehicles and a gas truck, but my Tesla model 3 dual motor is by far the best car I own. I'd buy a cyber truck, but I'd probably hold off using it for rving at the moment. I've never been in a pickle, even going to small towns in the middle of nowhere with my Tesla, but I have nearly 300 miles of range, with only 150 or less towing I could see someone getting in a pickle while traveling to unknown areas. With the full range using the GPS (Tesla GPS will route you for any necessary charging), you really never get put in a bad situation. But with the short towing range I could see a person getting stuck between charges in remote areas.

We are not people who put in 12 hour driving days, at least not typically. We prefer to meander at a slower pace. This vehicle would suit that lifestyle.
