Thanks for the comparison, Anthony. Yes, a Topaz Course like your excellent LRC course would be excellent.
Excellent! I do find that with the LR remove tool sometimes it creates a blurry, muddy replacement, even after clicking through refresh options.
I have a lot of experience trying to remove lines with Photoshop's Remove Tool as well as Content-Aware Fill. The closer the line gets to 180 deg horizontal and 90 deg vertical the harder it is in many cases. Btw, the Remove Tool will repair a broken line if you trace over a line with the keyword being "sometimes". Adobe referees to that as extending a line. If the line goes through small details try blowing up that part of the image and reducing the size of your circle with the left bracket key.

In LRC I get to my Topaz plug-ins using the Filter tab. I still use Topaz Denoise and Sharpening AI the most. When I use Photo AI, I just use the Denoise function and bring it into Topaz Sharpening so that I can refine the sharpening mask.

Why does Lightroom put the two different ways of exporting to Topaz in two different places. Wouldn't it make more sense and be easier to put it one place (like "Edit In") with options to select DNG as well as the other options?

I wonder if in Topaz AI, you removed in smaller segments, like you did in LR.
Great content Anthony. A bit of subject but I was wondering what you thought of using detail enhancement in Lightroom classic and then migrating that to Topaz photo, AI to further enhance the image.
Thanks for the comparison video. I would like to see you do more in depth videos on using all of the Topaz tools. Would using Topaz work better than Lightroom on jpeg files?
Could you encourage Topaz AI to improve the functionality of their mask brushes to at least the level of Lightroom Classic CC. Able to switch add to subtract with use of MS alt button, use wheel to change size of brush, etc. Have been requesting this for some time. Thanks very much for reviewing the use of the remove tool in Topaz AI. I had missed seeing that in the recent updates.
Hi Anthony, and thank you for the amazing videos. Topaz currently has a Black Friday deal going on that includes the Photo and Video verisons bundled with or without the additional Gigapixel, DeNoise, and Sharpen. Isn't the Photo AI 2 inclusive of those three applications, or should I have them seperately as well? Thanks in advance for any insight!

Obviously, neither of these are perfect, but I've been impressed so far with my limited use of Remove in Photo AI (not a fan of Adobe, although you obviously got better results with their non-beta tool). My usual workflow is to process the RAW in DxO PhotoLab and export as a TIFF if I want to apply any "secondary" tweaks (generally Nik but sometimes Topaz) and that generally works well. Good tip on using Remove last (although it would be nice if you could use it at any point), but to get around that, I wonder if you saved the file as a TIFF and re-opened it if Sharpen/DeNoise (/Gigapixel) would function.
Does Topaz provide a list of "compatible" graphics cards? Also, I wonder how it would handle the blurry stick(?) coming from the left that's partially obscuring the tiger's face--I'll have to see how it handles non-opaque objects. I also wonder if you might have better luck with that problem area if you worked on the image at much higher magnification (and in smaller bits), enabling you to more precisely paint the mask.
Thank you for the comparison of Topaz vs LRC. This has helped me decide not to buy Topaz at this time because it seems that LR is as good if not better than Topaz at removing unwanted objects and reducing noise.
HI Anthony I have followed these instructions using plug in extras but it still sends a TIFF..any thoughts?
I've noticed when sending a dng file to photo ai to remove a small amount of noise, the copy file comes back to LrC 4x the size it was. I'd say that was pretty much unacceptable. Is it a bug?
Photo AI's remove tool is more capable than Lightroom's and similar to Photoshop's Generative Fill, but processes locally. It's not perfect, but it's very good for what it is.
Clearly not as good as Lrc. What video were you watching?

Did you use a smaller brush in Lightroom than you did in Photo AI?
Perhaps use photoshop to remove stuff.. Fast, much better finish etc
I don’t understand these Ai selections. They always seem to nail fine detail bang on but then always leave massive patches of ‘easy’ stuff un masked.
Sorry, but why aren't you using the tools in Photoshop as it does a far better job than Lightroom, the heal tools in LR are for the most part pretty useless
I think he does this for people who do not have or do not master PS good enough (like me). Quite a number of photographers here on youtube now say that with the new LRC v.13 they often do not use PS anymore.
@@rederstreetyeah I hear you, but I would consider Photoshop as a plugin just like Topaz or DxO. Launch it to do a few tasks(mainly remove or AI stuff) and back to Lightroom.
@@rederstreet You literally click the on the remove tool and paint on the area you want to remove, how is that any more complicated than doing the exact same thing in LR but with considerably worse results?!

What's going on with all that bass in your voice? New mic or mixing with only headphones? You need to pull the bottom end out of your vocals, it's WAY too much! From 100hz on down to 0hz, just cut it off, all of it. Even without my sub turned on, your voice rattles my walls..... Whatever you were doing a year ago, just go back to that please. Cause now Your Anthony bass daddy! Otherwise, thanks for the tutorial.
