I am a HUGE fan Mr. Ley… have watched almost all your lectures… Props to you for giving a Nod to Ken Hover, haven’t checked his stuff out yet, still admiring your work
Water reduction is helped by “burn offs” of aggregates (how wet are your rocks and sand).. if your aggregates are saturated, that water is already in the mix.. subtract the ‘free water’ from what is needed… Side note: bone-dry aggregates tend to lower the temperature of the mix by almost 10degrees F.. at least in Colorado…
Doesn’t it make sense to control as many variables as possible in a lab setting, like they did, to establish a basis, or baseline, then introduce the nearly innumerable variables, then test, measure and document each of those variable combinations? A lot of work indeed....but that’s what PhD studies are all about

that nelson structural engineering business card is one of the coolest business cards ever
I used to hate concrete technology as a subject but you really changed that for me!
Used to be freaking BORING
Stunning lecture..👍👍
Thanks for this vid. Simple and understandable.
So I'm making a 3 sq m kitchen countertop. After 20 hours of TH-cam concrete vids I'm starting to wonder if maybe I'm overcomplicating this.
Thanks Tyler!

Or water probes in the silos
Thanks for this.

too many variables, just test what is most common and bacic, and from there show improvements.
👍❤️
