I looking forward to the reboot, I hope you delve deeper into the whole clone side of the story which I don't think the original show did a good job of. I was unaware of an audio show so I must check it out.
I was Christopher burrs postman ,nice gentleman I said to him thank Gerry for this and his other productions he kindly said I will ,hoping Gerry was there but he wasn’t ,36 years ago this was made wow better than CGI personally
I deffo get the aversion to cgi. it has to have the puppets. But in 83 they did not shy away from those great looking computer graphics that were cutting edge for the day and that was one of the things that mesmerised me aged 5/6/7. in fact it is no wonder i have such a huge love for retro video games and synth music considering i was so obsessed with this show. i think Zelda initially scared the crap out of me then i grew to love her.
I love the look of the design of these Terrahawks puppets, Tiger, Zelda, Kate, Mary, Yungstar, Yuri, etc. Nothing quite like it. And there was nothing like it on TV back when I first discovered it as a kid. Great show, thanks! Looking forward to the 40 year celebration new books and CD in 2023/4.
I remember the basement museum at Forbidden Planet in Bristol when they had some of the models on show. Staff were really surprised when I asked to look, it was like some sort of secret only a few were supposed to know about.
The aching love I have for this series just cannot be put into words. Everything about it was epic - from the music to the characters to the sets. ALL of it will live with me forever. Fave episode would have to be The Sporilla - it scared me SO much as a child. Fave character is without doubt Space Sergeant 101. My very first gay icon lol XD
Darn! We never had the terrahawks series here in Australia. I so wish we did! I always loved the thunderbirds, joe90 & captain scarlet though! Why did we not get terrahawks as well? Oh well, I'm seeing them now. Thank you so much Gerry & all the team!
I loved Terrahawks, it had so many layers in it's writing. I have it on DVD but the print to media is terrible maybe because it's 16mm sourced. Those Aliens on Mars were like a comedy troupe. Especially when Sistar had the evil baby. Some of the stuff going on was pretty edgy. Excellent show.

I was fortunate to meet Gerry Anderson just after Terrahawks had been filmed and he had a couple of the puppets with him including Zelda. Loved Terrahawks, but being in my 50s Thunderbirds takes some beating!
We really do need a new Terrahawks soundtrack release at some point. Richard Harvey's music was brilliant. I for one cannot wait to see what this new reboot brings. Favourite episodes for me was probably: Zero's Finest Hour Operation S.A.S. Cry UFO
I grew up on thunderbirds captain scarlet joe 90 ,but I DO love terrahawks even though I was 16 then ,but It was superb I could see clues from past productions even ninestines Rolls Royce ,funny my mate and dear wife looked like Kate ,nice thanks Gerry and all the team,wish we could have more .
This programme so reminds me of my 8 - 9 year old self back in the early 80's. One specific memory of Terrahawks was the end credits - Me and my brothers would try to guess who would win between the Zeroids and cubes in the noughts and crosses sequence. Fantastic music too. Nostalgia at its finest.
I really enjoyed this documentary, it was really insightful, but I had no idea there was going to be a series 2 to the franchise??! I'm on the first class carriage of this band wagon baby, and I'm definitely staying on this channel. Also, I'd like to give you guys back at HQ a huge thankyou for releasing the series on Blu-ray, you have no idea how happy you've made me right now. I'm trying to snag up the toys that I had when I was a young whipper snapper, but I really can't believe how in demand they are with toy collectors on a whole. Favourite episode??? I just couldn't, the whole series is awesome!

I was the perfect age for Terrahawks (around 5). The hilights for me were the Zeroids and the various vehicles. I just loved anything with miniatures. But everything about the show was great. The visual effects and music in the opening sequence, the grotesque monsters (almost too scary for kids) the colour-changing limousine, even the noughts and crosses sequence during the end credits. It didn't have the strange dated quality of Thunderbirds (at least not to an 80's kid). I even liked Stu Dapple (though he irritates me now!). This was one of those shows (along with 'Monkey', 'Star Fleet' and 'Mighty Orbots) that epitomised my most nostalgic years,
How you know that this was a good show: I saw half of one or two episodes of this before school as a kid when they played it in the early morning on the Sci-Fi Channel. I never forgot it. It took me this long to figure out why the ball robots and cube robots were blowing eachother up on the moon before the witch made out with the space man to the tune of a disco song.

I thought I'd imagined Terrorhawks as a kid, until I started watching all things Gerry Anderson on TH-cam and realised it had, indeed, been a real show. There has been a distinct lack of all things Terrorhawks for three decades...until now, that is! Long may they continue ❤

I was born in 81 and Terrahawks was my favourite show when I was a kid, in my memory, it was all about the Zeroids. The show went off air when I was still very young, and my Zeroid toys were my most cherished toys, but I lost them, and my parents hunted in vain, they were unable to replace them.
My favourite episode has to be the one that linked 39 episodes into one ongoing, unabridged movie. This has always been my favourite Anderson series so I'm having very mixed feelings about the reboot. The idea of it focusing around Kate is quite interesting, as it could easily have fit in as a prequel of the original series instead of a reboot and Kate's always been a great role model for kids. It could also have let us see some of the threats the world faced before Zelda arrived (or perhaps had been portents of her arrival). The term "reboot" has very negative connotations these days because just about every franchise has either lost a huge portion of its fanbase or completely collapsed (ex: the politically driven female Doctor Who reboot and Star Trek: Discovery, or the Fantastic Four movie franchise. Here are the points that worry me most: 1. It was announced the iconic ships are being redesigned. This almost always ends badly (just look at Star Trek: Discovery and the sheer hatred it earned from long-time Star Trek fans for its visual "updates"). Now, if this series is meant to happen prior to when the original series occurred (even if it's an alternate reality... maybe in this universe Tracy Construction designed the original Terrahawk fleet) and we still get that same classic Terrahawks feel feel (remember, those 40 year old Star Wars ship designs STILL looked amazing on the big screen in Rogue One, so visual updates aren't as important as the industry likes to claim), it would make sense for the designs to be a little different and slowly "upgraded" closer to the designs of the original series. (hey, maybe we'll get a crossover episode at some point with the original series where the Ninesteins can pick on each other's fleets as an inside joke based on the opinions of new and old series fans to the other era's designs) 2. The production crew's taking the one Anderson non-live series begging to be brought to live action and doing an animation based off of styles that have been steadily losing production quality since the US "otaku" phenomenon and anime market crisis in Japan a couple decades back. If you want a popular Japanese style, give me tokusatsu any day, which is a genre these reboots would be amazing in (I could really picture the Terrahawks done similarly to Keitai Sosakan-7 or even older Super Sentai). Captain Scarlet's reboot didn't work very well as an animated series, and I'm worried Terrahawks will suffer the same fate, partly because it's being adapted into an oversaturated market. 3. There's a huge balance to be had between staying true to the source material while providing something new. The Bumblebee movie tried to combine the movie franchise with something closer to its Generation 1 roots. In some ways it excelled, but in others it fell flat. Star Trek: Discovery completely failed until Season 2 where Captain Pike and some great directing by Jonathan Frakes on several episodes nearly turned the show around (and then we got news of Season 3, and the big corporate backslide into uninformed, forced political messages). Meanwhile, Star Trek: Lower Decks was meant to be a mere spoof series but got so many things right that it's become one of the most fan-acclaimed series in the entire franchise because it's a love letter to everything before it. Doctor Who's reboot was so full of forced politics that it turned many lifelong fans away (myself included) and attempted to get us back by throwing in a lot of references to the first and second eras without addressing the numerous critical issues with the show and its politically offensive direction. Balance in a reboot is a very fine tightrope, so all I can say is I really hope the production team takes their time to address viewer feedback and adapt, especially from older fans, so the show can be the best it can be. 4. Forcing politics and PC/SJW culture is a major concern. I, like many others, always applauded 101 and considered him to be an early gay role model. He didn't force the idea down peoples' throats, it was just something nuanced that there was a very special (platonic) relationship going on aboard that station and it was glorious. Characters shouldn't have to broadcast their sexuality, sex, gender, or even their ethnic background, as these are very personal and private things. Making characters broadcast these things quickly becomes offensive to those of us whom they should be representing. Now, obviously, Kate has darker skin pigmentation, but she was an equal who never once thought she deserved special treatment just because of her ethnic background. As a result, she was a strong role model for kids regardless of their sex or ethnicity. That's what this reboot needs to bring with it most of all - a sense that everyone's an equal part of the team and that sex, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or even race/species (since Zelda's crew were a wide range of races, some of which we grew to sympathise with - MOID, I'm looking at you) is something that just isn't talked about because it SHOULDN'T define a character's worth. TL:DR - There's a lot of fine lines to dance along in doing a reboot. It has to stay faithful enough to the source material to hold the old fans, and politics need to be kept out of it as much as possible, because those are the two biggest reasons modern reboots fail. The chosen style isn't the best choice due to the competition of that market, but as long as the show avoids the pitfalls of most reboots and addresses any issues to keep the show in the right direction, this could be a great return to the franchise or even lead to even better things (such as a live action movie).
I had just completely forgotten about this show and I was such a fan. I would have been 9 when this came out. I was already a huge Thunderbirds fan with all the toys but while I remember finding this show a bit scary. I was in it for the models. I just adored them. I must have been an odd one out with the little spherical bots as I thought they were childish. Which is odd for a 9 year old. I just didn't think they fit with the super serious science fiction amazing vehicles action spectacular. The voices especially were very silly. They remind me of minions seeing them again and I still don't think they fit the tone of the show. That didn't stop me collecting the models again though. Weird how I often think of Thunderbirds but this show just got completely forgotten.. Great video btw!
Loved Terrahawks until the later episodes when it became fixated on Kate's singing career. The fact she's the lead in the reboot leaves me absolutely disinterested.
The puppet's faces were not up to the standard of Thunderbirds and Capt Scarlet. They really were 'children's hour' stuff. This series just didn't inspire me at all.

Wow! It been years since I saw Terrahawks. I use to watch Terrahawks everyday at 3:30 pm on WPIX 11. Terrahawks was my favorite childhood tv show.

Balance in a reboot is a very fine tightrope, so all I can say is I really hope the production team takes their time to address viewer feedback and adapt, especially from older fans, so the show can be the best it can be.
4. Forcing politics and PC/SJW culture is a major concern. I, like many others, always applauded 101 and considered him to be an early gay role model. He didn't force the idea down peoples' throats, it was just something nuanced that there was a very special (platonic) relationship going on aboard that station and it was glorious. Characters shouldn't have to broadcast their sexuality, sex, gender, or even their ethnic background, as these are very personal and private things. Making characters broadcast these things quickly becomes offensive to those of us whom they should be representing. Now, obviously, Kate has darker skin pigmentation, but she was an equal who never once thought she deserved special treatment just because of her ethnic background. As a result, she was a strong role model for kids regardless of their sex or ethnicity. That's what this reboot needs to bring with it most of all - a sense that everyone's an equal part of the team and that sex, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or even race/species (since Zelda's crew were a wide range of races, some of which we grew to sympathise with - MOID, I'm looking at you) is something that just isn't talked about because it SHOULDN'T define a character's worth.
TL:DR - There's a lot of fine lines to dance along in doing a reboot. It has to stay faithful enough to the source material to hold the old fans, and politics need to be kept out of it as much as possible, because those are the two biggest reasons modern reboots fail. The chosen style isn't the best choice due to the competition of that market, but as long as the show avoids the pitfalls of most reboots and addresses any issues to keep the show in the right direction, this could be a great return to the franchise or even lead to even better things (such as a live action movie).

I had just completely forgotten about this show and I was such a fan. I would have been 9 when this came out. I was already a huge Thunderbirds fan with all the toys but while I remember finding this show a bit scary. I was in it for the models. I just adored them. I must have been an odd one out with the little spherical bots as I thought they were childish. Which is odd for a 9 year old. I just didn't think they fit with the super serious science fiction amazing vehicles action spectacular. The voices especially were very silly. They remind me of minions seeing them again and I still don't think they fit the tone of the show. That didn't stop me collecting the models again though. Weird how I often think of Thunderbirds but this show just got completely forgotten.. Great video btw!

The puppet's faces were not up to the standard of Thunderbirds and Capt Scarlet. They really were 'children's hour' stuff. This series just didn't inspire me at all.
