Thank you so much Petra. I have been watching your reactions and only just noticed that I had not subscribed. Forgive me my thoughtlessness. It has been corrected. My only excuse is this: Every time Angelina sings it is like being transported to a place of such beauty that nothing else can exist. I get lost and enraptured by Angelina. I cannot return to this world as quickly as Angelina carries me away to her world. It is not just her angelic voice but more importantly the true unaffected beauty of her soul. She adores Juliette, her sister, and all of her family. Her mourning the passing of her Grandfather broke my heart. I am 65 and lost my Grandfather at about the same age. I still miss him every day. Angelina devotes time, money, her talent and her love to children's charities around the world. She does so quietly, not seeking attention or praise. I just hope and pray fervently that her life remains beautiful, unspoiled, joyful and filled with love above all else.

there are two of the most amazing young talents out in world of music. one just turned 16 and the other 14, Grace Vanderwaal and Angelina Jordan and we are the better for it.
I think you summed it up nicely..."she sings in between the melody". This is so true. It's not just the words, it all the stuff between the words. What always amazes me is how she is able to pack so much detail into it without ever sounding like it's overdone. I think this is one of the reasons she is so hypnotizing to listen to... Aside from the velvety smooth voice, some of the flavorings she puts on it are so subtle that it makes you lean in and listen closely so you don't miss anything. This also makes it very easy to listen to over and over. The more you listen to one of her songs, the more details you will hear.

Hi, Petra! I have been asking myself lately: Why do i often cry when she sings? Today, the answer that comes to mind is her purety. It is a feeling that melts my heart. Maybe, tomorrow, the answer will be different. This song is my favorite of Angelina s three originals. The one verse that makes the tears invade my soul is this one: Maybe life is a warm embrace by someone safe. The word safe evokes the insecurity that plagues our youth nowadays. We find too many teens suffering now from severe depression, committing crimes, if not suicide, or choosing drugs to ease the pain of living. Most of all, they don t know anymore who the safe adults are. They do not trust us anymore! And Angelina points to that suffering. In other words, she says on behalf of all the teens of the world: Are you a safe person when you approach me arms open wide? Another verse would be: Feeding birds with my little sister, after all she is the love of my life!
Good remarks regarding safety, but I see it differently: the danger was always there, but now the new generation is networked; they can compare notes and identify some of the dangers. So I think this is a positive development. They just need to trust each other and not the mass media.

Angelina is fantastic, her singing is always perfect, she made me rethink everything about Jazz :) But we also have another fantastic artist in Norway, named Aurora, I think you would love her. Her vocals have too much vibrato. It's not something I'd care to listen to very often, probably unless I was in the right mood. I do like the song, but not with so much vocal vibrato. It would also sound better if certain words were completely pronounced and without all the mmm's finishing off the incompletely pronounced words.
I will respect that as an opinion, but definitely not fact. I've listened to Diana but she can't keep me going back time and time again. And truly, there's no need to compare the two since they are different styles
