Nice review! I’m looking for a compact/portable player.. I’m between the M300 and the Sony NW 306.. I only use IEMs and nothing very difficult to drive (I guess) I have the Seeaudio Yume / will get a dusk / maybe a 61T
I would go with Hiby M300 out of convenience, but both are made for the general public. If you want something for sonic quality alone, Hiby R3 II or Shanling M1 Plus would offer that more
Thank you George, I thought you can use it with dongle, like I have hiby FC4 here... I would get it only because I could use it with external dac amp through USB C playing "bit perfect" from Apple music, which you can't do from the 3.5 it oversamples to 48kz only, Take care..✌️ 😁 ❤️
I just got one yesterday. Hooked it up to a Fosi KA17 dac/headphone amp. Plugged in my Sennheiser HD800 S. I used USB Audio Player Pro. Everything works great. Added a 512gb micro sd card to hold all my ripped CDs. Bit perfect playback from Qobuz, Amazon music and all my ripped CDs. I'm impressed and happy with it.
Hii, yes, R6 III has a much higher driving power, more dynamics, better resolution and detail, and the same for DX170. M300 is good only for easy to drive IEMs, if you don't listen too loud, and it is great for a small form factor DAP, with a low price point, but higher price units will sound quite a bit better
@@AudiophileHeaven okay..i am looking for a DAP to use as a source for both headphones and car audio too..so it would be better to go with dx170 price range right
Nice review! I'm waiting to receive this, I bought it on offer for less than 140 usd, after researching a bit. I came across the R6iii but it was overkill to me, I'm not an audiophile, but I bought realme buds 5 pro and was surprised by their sound (never had I imagined music could sound that great!). My cowon x7 (still working) is only bt 2.0 no ldac and apty of course, so I wanted to upgrade in order to use buds 5. I'll still be using x7 wired because I love it and the battery lasts 100hrs. My rog phone 6 has ldac and aptx hd+jack 3.5 but I needed more storage for my music library, on my phone only a selection. This DAP seems pretty promising for my needs.
Add the iBasso DC Elite or the iBasso D16 Taipan to the M300. With either of those connected to the M300, I dont think many would tell much of a sound quality difference between that and, say, the Astell and Kern SP2000.
If you add a DAC/AMP, then that is the one which will make the sound, D16 Taipan would sound like D16 with most digital sources, so you're right. I don't think M300 would be that great of a transport though, small, and not the quickest OS to power a flagship DAC.
I have been using Shanling M0 for years, and I owned this few weeks....only android/ big screen is plus. I still prefer Mo over this M300, this doesn't meet my expectation comparing Shanling MO. Don't buy if you are using Shanling M0 or similar audio output.
@@AmritNeku agreed, i bought m300 a month ago and i regreted it😅. because i found my smartphone sounds better compared to m300, the only different thing from m300 with my smartphone is the output power, that's it, nothing more.
Nice review.
Will be very interesting if you can make comparison video with other DAP within similar price range mainly in Sound Quality. 👏
Thank you! Are you curious about any in particular?
@@AudiophileHeaven really courius about Surfans F28
That one is a rare one that I have not heard, will try to get it and review it too in the near future!

Ahh, that is super good info, I did not know about it...
Can U test it with some dongle or dac/amp if it works and let me know...😉❤️👍🙋♂️

Wohoo, happy to hear that, sounds like you're having lots of fun!
Hi.. is there any massive difference between this and the higher price range like ibasso dx170 or hiby r6 3?

Yes, it is a more sensible option if you also want to drive headphones.

I still have the M0 too, and the M0 sounds warmer, deeper and more rounded, M300 is a more neutral sounding unit, with less power
