Can NECA's Sesame Street line Become an All-Time Best?

- One of the best figures lines of all time was Palisades' Muppets line, but they weren't able to follow up with their planned Sesame Street series. Now NECA is attempting to deliver high-quality figures starting with the pre-orders of Bert and Ernie.

I hope they do all the characters. I got Ernie & Bert on preorder. I do hope Super 7 also does a Muppets series to go with the Sesame St characters
Super7 made some Electric Mayhem figures from the Muppets a few years ago. I don't think they have the Disney license anymore.
I think you're right. Thought that was why they stopped doing Simpsons.

Pre-ordered Ernie and Bert! I want Cookie Monster, Grover, Super Grover, the Count, Oscar the Grouch, Kermit as the news reporter and Big Bird for sure! I'd also love to have the two Martians, the trench coat guy that tries to sell Ernie numbers, Guy Smiley, and that dude who always says he has a fly in his soup! lol

I am pretty sure I remember Palisades still had quite a few waves still in the works for the Muppets when they folded. E.g. Veterinarians Hospital, the Muppet Babies as they appeared in the movie, some Fraggle Rock characters, plus more. I used to have a list of the unreleased waves that was published all those years ago. Even an Electric Mayhem bus and the Muppet Theatre stage were on the playest list from memory.
I loved the Muppets line from Palisades and was ready to go all in on their Sesame line. However, looking back, the articulation of the Palisades Muppets was often lacking. T joint hips, usually no ankle articulation, usually swivel wrists and neck. These NECA figures have Palisades sculpt with more expressive articulation where it counts. A simple head tilt or wrist movement really does a lot for a figure of a puppet.
The NECA figures have a surprising amount of articulation. Should definitely add to them being more expressive for sure.
Grover is my number one Sesame Street character. Just always fun, used his imagination.
The Bert and Ernie are fun. May have to get those. Would get a Snuffleupagus for sure.

I think the release schedule of these could help if you looked at them like $22 a month for both of them for three months?
I'm so excited for this line! I hope it is a huge success and goes super deep. There are at least 20 characters I want. I'm not familiar with NECA's production. How quickly do you think NECA will release new figures? Will it be like 4 figures a year or higher or lower?
It really depends on the reception for the line. I could see them doing maybe 5-6 waves a year of 2-3 figures.
@LylesFigureFiles thanks for answering my question! 10-15 figures a year is much more than I expected. I hope you're right, and the line is a hit, and NECA churns figures out quickly!

Sesame Street is the GOAT!! I have to restrain myself from laughing like the count when thunder rolls. To this day, I will randomly break out with a Sesame Street song. TO. THIS. DAY!!! I sincerely hope they do this line justice. So long as I can get Ernie, Bert, The Count, Big Bird, Snuffy, Oscar, Grover, and maybe a couple others like Sherlock Hemlock, Guy Smiley, and the guy with the beady eyes and big blue head (IYKYK) I'll be happy...
LOL. Yeah man, this line has some potential to be a GREAT line based on how Bert and Ernie turned out.

The world was a magical place when I was an innocent little kid watching Sesame Street. These figures are bringing back those memories!
Exactly. I'd love to see them go deep into Sesame Street characters.
This could be a top 5 all time line. If they put the detail they put into the predator line into this like the skies the limit

The only two I really care about are Big Bird and Mr. Snuffleupagus. They just need to be huge.
They don't seem to have problems getting scale right on figures on lines that I've collected from them.

At almost $40 a figure, I'm out. Muppets are better than Sesame Street anyways.

Makes sense to not get sucked in if the price isn't worthwhile to you.
