Loki likes to mess with me and my arachnophobia... Obviously he is Lord over spiders, which is *so fun* as an arachnophobe. And literally while I was doing laundry last night I spider fell out of the clothes I was folding. I 100% screamed and jumped away. And then I started hearing Loki laughing at me. I asked him to please stop putting his spiders near my hands or near my sleeping area. He finished his laughing and I felt him agree. And I swear there were two more spiders that crawled out from under my bed to find somewhere else to hide. All that to say, deities will work with you, mess with you sometimes, and are there to support you through your practice. It's been one of the few things that have actually helped me break away from the Christian ideology I grew up with.
I have a question that's not directly related to the video but is sort of related to the mythic literalism vs metaphorical/lesson myths thing you mentioned. What do we do about gods who do really bad things in their mythology? I recently found out that there's a myth where one of the deities I worship (Odin) SA's someone and I don't know what to do or whether I should continue worshipping him. I know the myth may just be a made up story to teach a lesson and may not have actually happened, but I feel weird about it. Anyone have any advice?
Ah, your Norse outfit matches the topic of today's video 💜💜💜 My fav god is Thoth and I refer to him a lot, I've always had a tight connection with him.
Thanks for sharing this. I'm a recent subscriber and have been hooked on your videos for the past couple days. I really enjoy your content! Much love and blessings from Texas! Also, that fur is beautiful! Is it coyote? Just curious.
@@WarriorWitchNike love that! I have a charcoal colored whole fox that I wear to dress up a ritual a bit. Especially around Yule. (Obviously in Texas weather) Just gets me in the mood for a special occasion. EDIT: Not just to wear, but to decorate an altar space.
I personally don't think that the gods punish us, I believe that what you bring to your practice is what you receive, so if you bring the idea of punishment then that may be what you get. Nice chair.
What if you pray, do rituals with them, leave offers etc., you get what you asked for but they don't communicate with you? Personally this makes me feel like I'm doing something wrong even though i know for fact they agreed to work with me.
I was raised in a Christian household (not personally Christian, just have a POV), and my dad enjoys talking/debating this kind've thing He believes completely in respect, and believes that's what the Christian God is intending throughout the bible The Christian God will definitely fuck shit up if need be (See: the plagues of Egypt), but respect is always the main priority Just a UPG/SPG since I always see a lot of people seeing only the feared side of it, not saying it's true but it's a different POV
I know this is an older video and sorry if this is a dumb question, but when you’re doing work with the gods and doing exchanges, what are the types of things you would offer in return to them? Thanks
That one gets misrepresented a lot. White sage should be avoided because it is in danger due to unethical harvesting. A cultural group can't own a plant. Now if you're referring specifically to smudging. Yes, that is part of a closed practice due to cultural protectivism. But smudging is not synonymous with smoke cleansing. Smoke cleansing is a part of many cultures, it's basically a trope. Anyone can use smoke cleansing. Just avoid plants that are unethically harvested and don't call it "smudging"
Respect is the key; nothing good can come from fear of higher beings..
Between the fur, the chair, and the earrings, this is a badass setup
Was going to say the very same. I'd love to know where the chair is from.
You shouldn't fear the gods, you should respect them.
I honestly just love the whole vibe of this video thank you so much Nike!
She has a whole fur it's a vibe Nike 😂☺️❣️✨
I LOVED the setup for this video! Warrior Vibes for sure!
Definitely agree about the Morrigan sending Nightmares 😅🤣😂 anytime I have one I study it to find out if it’s her or just a regular nightmare

Don't forget to give Loki an offering or present to say Thank You for agreeing to stop sending the spiders near your hands or near your sleeping area.
I've been encountering spiders a lot lately and didn't know who spiders associate with. I think now I know it!❤️
There is a phrase I've heard called holy fear. What is that anyway?

It's a fox fur!

While I can attest to the intensity of a relationship with the Morrigan, from what I've heard Kali can be enough rougher.
hey nike! do you have any book recommendations for starting spirit work with plants and the environment??

How cool is your chair and outfit ! Princess moninoke 😀
Can you do a video bout white sage and it being a closed practice?
