Hill-bonus in Age of Mythology???

I had no idea about the hill bonus and I've been playing it since my childhood! Usually in games there is some sort of indication when such a bonus is in effect, but not in AoM

They should make more hills in competitive maps. Should add more tactics and make battles more exciting.

now my question is: what about towers? towers are usual higher as other units. would they get a bonus, if they are on a hill that is normally in the game?
