You can absolutely tell she played Tina in the “Tina” musical from the minute she moved out front. She just exudes her “essence.” . I also saw echoes of the Mick/Tina duet at Live Aid. I’m sure she was nervous as all get-out, but she owned her moment! And the Stones were so gracious with their recognition of her in the moment!
She killed it. Her vocal performance filled with as much soul and rage since Merry Clayton's studio take.

Just played that 5 times in a row, fucking epic, what a girl, totally nailed it and brought the guitars back to life, just amazing Chanel, hope she's back some day because that girl is on another level of intensity and talent.
She did a great job! Powerhouse voice, can’t imagine the pressure of randomly getting to do that and pull it off nicely. Best wishes to Sasha too. Thanks Matt!

It's not random, she sings it every show.
Just heard she was fired from the Tina Musical for doing this show! While it can seem extremely disrespective and unprofessional to basically "skip work" that night, this was a once in a lifetime opportunity that she will likely never get again. And holy mother, that performance was off the chain! And she was clearly channeling some strong Tina vibes in the performance as well. I became a fan!!! In the end, she didn't leave the Tina musical without a lead performer in the understudy so the show went on. She could have just as easily been sick and missed the show over something that simple. So you know what? I have to say this was an incredible story of courage! She risked it all for a dream, a one-time chance, and isn't that what Tina has always done? She killed in that performance with the Stones! Isn't that what Tina always did when she and Mike Jagger were together? I understand having to face the consequences for our actions, both personally and professionally, but I can't help but think this could have been a win-win for everyone if the producers of Tina, had just said, "Go! Do it! We've got it covered here. Tina is about risk, overcoming adversity, dream fulfillment against all odds. Do the Tina thing and put yourself out there and show the world what you're really made of and you know what? Give the Tina Musical a shout-out!!" This didn't have to go down in this way. I pray she is rewarded in the long term.

Hanging in the audience, having seen this song performed live many times, this was an extraordinary, powerful and mesmerizing experience. Chanel completely blew this thing out of the water! We knew we were in the presence of greatness! Course that's what the Stones are all about, the most extraordinary moments of our lives!
Give this woman her job back. She got the chance to sing with The Rolling Stones and she did it. It didn’t harm the show anyway if anything it probably made more people want to come to the show after her amazing performance. Horrible

Her career is already in full swing. Chanel is the daughter of rapper Nelly & plays Tina in the musical about Tina Turner. She's got incredible talent, powerful vocals & great vocal.range.
@@sjladuke75 I’m sorry Susan but your confusing Chanel with someone else there is another Chanel Haynes who is daughter of rapper Nelly however this is not her. Chanel is daughter of Larry Haynes a pastor in New Orleans, LA. She originally started out with successful gospel girl group Trin-i-tee 5:7 who were managed by Mathew Knowles. They have won several awards, and are 2 x Grammy nominees who sold million of albums.

Jagger still sings almost as well as he did in the 70s and 80s. It’s McCartney who lost his voice.
Chanel Haynes was fantastic, and the best part was seeing the other band members giving her encouragement, especially Bernard, while Sasha was not there. Beautiful. Hope Sasha is okay.

Hi Mark Rubinstein, why did you fire Chanel after this mind-bending performance, one of the best-ever renditions of "Gimme Shelter"? Chanel was great as Tina Turner and in this performance as well. If anything it would increase your box office sales. So why fire her just before her final three performances at which friends, family and a domestic-abuse survivor were to be in the audience?
