The problem is that many Americans don't understand that. The culture around the presidency is dangerous, and it's extra true this year. All Biden needed to do what not to be tired an confused. That's basically the only problem the undecideds have. They know his policies. It's his competence they question. Yesterday's debate did a lot of damage on that issue.
Same thing applies to Trump. As they said on Letterkenny, "Show me your friends, and I'll show you who you are." Trump's friends are felons and dictators.

Pete Buttigieg I guess was a fine mayor and he seems OK as transportation secretary. But why all the air time? Someone or something is making sure he is known. Certain elements in the democrat party are grooming/mentoring him to be a power of the party. I can't think of another transportation secretary, can you? But we do know Pete. Why? He is a corporate democrat. The ones that drove the party into the ground, following lock step with republicans but just one step behind. Biden seems to have turned that corner, FINALLY, and promoted and signed legislation that helps regular people. Buttigieg, during his brief time as presidential candidate hobnobbed with the BILLIONAIRES. We do NOT need another wave of corporate democrats in power. It will destroy what is left of the middle class.

Amen! In my humble opinion, President Biden will go down in history as one of the top five best presidents. It will probably not happen in my lifetime as I’m in my third act.

The problem was appearance with Biden, he looked Old & Feeble in many instances, and despite Biden answering all of the questions asked, it was still the appearance. Trump was slumped over his podium a lot of the time, while Biden stood straight up the entire time. Trump also lied every time he opened his mouth!! Vote Blue regardless, only way to save our freedoms and the WOMAN WE CARE ABOUT! P.S. Biden is the only one who has crushed Trump at the Ballot Box!

Saw Joe Biden in Raleigh, NC, at the 6/28/24 campaign event after the debate. It struck me how energetic he was, speaking with a strong voice. Was glad to see it.

He famously rode the train home every night to be there for his boys because he knew they needed him. He lost a son to cancer and the other has struggled with addiction. Still he remains kind. Truth: 2 major wars started under Biden. Russia and Iran, by way of Hamas, were emboldened by Biden's failure in Afghanistan, and his gifts. For Russia is was relaxing the sanctions on the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, and for Iran it was the unfreezing of 6 billion dollars.
Hugh respect for Pete Buttigieg and I wish he was running for that job, but the sad fact is Biden is finished and the risk of a Trump win is very real should Biden stay on. There are plenty of younger Democrats capable of wiping the floor with Trump. They should be given the opportunity to run.

A debate is like a final exam that covers all aspects of a course, and you can’t bring any notes or tools with you: this is a completely artificial environment that is not reflective of how a President does his job ad he doesn’t have to carry around all the facts on every subject in order to conduct himself, negotiate his way through meetings with various dignitaries etc
Biden is far more qualified than he is getting credit for post-debate and I’m really really disappointed that so much of media people’s commentary is sounding the alarm about his ability to lead the country.
Still with the facts: there are 2 men running for President and only one of them is qualified, period.

What will the host look like in the future? What we have is now. I refuse to let panty wetters fill me with doubt and fear about the President's future abilities. We have been given a clear contrast in aging with Biden and Trump and who each is today. I choose Biden's character, wisdom, and abilities today over Trump's self-centered, self-serving life long personality.
We have a small opportunity of time right now to get the best of both worlds, someone who can articulate America's dreams and hopes AND carry out the best of President Biden's policies.

We are thinking that last night was not a one off. If President Biden is unable to continue, if he's unable to articulate America's dreams and goals to the world, then we need to replace him. There were so many missed opportunities last night. I'm old, but I was throwing responses to almost everything Trump lied about. If nobody hears, was any sound made? The audience last night was too large to ignore. It was a sad night.
Hope you will give half this much coverage to President Joe Biden rally in NC where he is on the top of his game.
He was shouting off a teleprompter, he looked dreadful.
There should be no talk of Biden stepping aside - I'm only hearing that from media outlets when they should be talking about Trump's lies and dangers instead.
We need to keep in mind that Biden's policies have been good for our nation, both economically and socially (women, minorities, elderly, veterans, children, &c.). . And for those who say Biden is too old (some folks were calling for him to step aside last night - I disagree with them), even if the worst thing were to happen, he has a good team in place with good policies. The same cannot be said about Trump, neither the policies nor the strong team.

I really am disappointed in the media right now. The negative pile-on is completely unwarranted. He has been doing the job. No one knows what the future will bring.
