    paragon reallyhas their C8 equipment on point, they are one of the best and finest in the game right now. that exhaust really livens up the Lt2 and lets it sing and breathe the American song.

    Without a doubt, best comparison exhaust video I have seen/heard! Nice job. The PP exhaust is definitely louder and deeper than the stock, and is music to my ears. I am still waiting on my 2022 , but have been on the fence about PP or AWE...think this vid just swung me towards PP. Thank you!

      Thank you. Yes, you have different exhaust vids all over the place, but unless you can compare it to something else using the same recording devices, equipment and circumstances, it really is hard to tell. It was a little louder than I expected, but thats not a bad thing. My only gripe is the very low pitched hum/drone when it is in V4 mode, but I believe all after market exhausts will have that, since the engine puts out that noise. Good thing I drive mine likes its stolen, so I'm rarely in V4 mode, lol.

      @@mjr_c8678 Appreciate the honesty about the minor drone...I am not worried about that either. I see you had the non-NPP factory exhaust, so did you get any CEL with the PP install? Did you have to use the AFM/NPP simulators from PP?

      Just an update to this comment for future readers and clarity. I did not get the AFM delete simulator. I also never had a check engine light problem. After discussing this with other people, I found that most people do need the simulator, regardless of model year. I suspect the reason why I never had a problem was because I had a Chevy Dealership install my exhaust, and they did a ECU Re-learn as part of the install processes.

    I just picked up. my 22 HTC Z51, and after watching your video, and others, I think the Paragon Touring Exhaust would be best for my car. I like the rich, deeper sound, and the noise level is not annoying...I don't want a racket of sound, just a performance oriented system that soundsgood. Did you notice anything performance-wise, after installing it?

  • @dmraco

    Great video. How does the in cabin sound compare to the Borla ATAK, valves open vs closed. Also I do not worry about the V4 drone as I always drive in manual mode locking out the AFM. This is helpful for anyone concerned about this when cruising.

    • @mjr_c8678
      @mjr_c8678  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I've never heard the Borla system in person, so I can't say for sure, but based on discussions with people online, I suspect the volume in the cabin is equivalent to the valves being open on the Borla. After driving this for almost 3 months, I have gotten "used to" the AFM, and isn't that bad any more. You can still hold a normal conversation with the passenger while cruising, but will need to "speak up" if accelerating "kinda hard." For me, for the price, you can't beat it. If I'm alone, I normally listen to music at a higher volume, and while cruising, I can't even hear the exhaust.

    Glad to hear you are happy with Paragon. I also have the non performance exhaust from the factory, but I would like to adjust this with the different driving modes the C8 offers. Can I get that with the Paragon exhaust?

    • @mjr_c8678
      @mjr_c8678  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No. Paragon is not a valved exhaust system. So it will be roughly the same as your stock non NPP exhaust. Yes adjusting your C8 to track or sport mode does make the shifts harder which in turn makes it "sound" little louder during shifts as apposed to tour mode, but with out the NPP exhaust you cannot open/close valves to truly adjust the sound level. Even buying a after market valved exhaust will not help you because your C8 does not have the software/settings to control the vavles.

    Very nice comparison video! I have been looking at this exhaust myself. Did you install it yourself or have a shop do it?

    • @mjr_c8678
      @mjr_c8678  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Had my Chevy Dealership do it, because they have done 5 prior to me, so I trust them. They are a big C8 Dealership. But it does seems like a mechanically inclined DIY'er can do it according to their install video. Depending on highly where you live around the country, I seen install labor prices range from $650-$950.

      @@bluepstu9009 Unlike AWE, heatshields do not come with this, and don't think they are needed. I didn't install any. There is less tubing than other exhausts, and plenty of space around it for heat distribution. However for any specifics, or more detail, I would contact Paragon directly.

    I got a question about driving a vette. Is it a problem in some areas with dips? Being that they’re so low to the ground? I’d be so scared to scrape my bumper

    • @mjr_c8678
      @mjr_c8678  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I personally have the front lift. However, there was 1 time when I was pulling into an entry way with a dip, and I forgot to activate my lift, and a scraped a little. It was minor, no damage. It all comes down to if you have a lot of speed bumps where you drive. Also, do you have the regular front splitter or not. Front splitters can be replaced for under $300, were the front lift is now a 2,200 option. You can replace a a lot of front splitter for that price. Now if you have an expensive carbon fiber splitter like me, it might make sense to get the lift option. Its all personal preference. But I would recommend the lift option.

    Is there any drone in AFM?

    • @mjr_c8678
      @mjr_c8678  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, a little. As with any non-valved exhaust, the AFM valve is not used, so you can hear the difference between V4 and V8 modes. Its my only "complaint" about the exhaust, but almost all exhausts have this issue, unless you are willing to pay more than double the price of this exhaust. (like 4,000+ for Borla) However after having this for two months now, It doesn't really phase me any more, and I drive my C8 very "spiritedly" so I'm rarely in V4 more, lol..

      @fleetmanagement7303 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mjr_c8678 , thank you for the response. Can you tell me about the sound, is it deeper? That is what I am after, and I don’t want to lose the pop from the up-shifts. If you had it to do over, would you still go with it? How is the build quality? Did you purchase the modules for the check engine light?

    • @mjr_c8678
      @mjr_c8678  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@fleetmanagement7303 It is ALOT deeper. Deeper than I anticipated actually. The up-shift pops are a lot louder, and the idle down "gurgle" is louder. I love the sound. Yes I would do it again. I did not get the AFM delete simulator, because I thought 2021's didn't need it. Turns out, it is possible it still needed for 2021/22's. However, I never had an issue, because I assume since a chevy dealership installed my Exhaust, they also did a ECU re-learn to remove the CEL. I do recommend the simulators (especially if you are not having a chevy dealership do the install) because its saves about an hour on install time because you don't have to remove them and reinstall them. FYI, even when they are re-installed, they are not used, just attached to the transmission out of the way.
