You really go in-depth when it comes to long term reviews and it's absolutely true that this old flagship easily beats any other new midrange phones today. Coming from a V30, I can say that the V50 is the most complete smartphone of all time.💯
I have a V40 and love it, ill get the V50 next. So affordable and has so many awesome features; Quad DAC, headphone jack, expandable storage, mine is fully unlocked, 6GB of ram...i paid 80 bucks for it....😁 I love the 1440p display....gorgeous.
would still go for this over V60 for the Quad HD screen resolution and the UBER ESS Quad-DAC and the best tuning and iteration of it compared to ANY OTHER PHONE out in the market. V60 ditches the ESS Quad DAC for an inferior Qualcomm one, no comparison
I am still using and love my LG v20, the dual screen and AOD are great but the battery is the main problem (been replacing 3 times). LG v50 is a good choice to replace my old LG v20, the fact that it's still using the 2k screen is awesome!
I have multiple LG phones and yes this phone is a desirable phone all around. I would recommend to stay away from the Sprrint version because it is not a true 5G and stopped being updated to Android 10 (July 21) with security update security patch June 21. The Verizon version is updated to Android 12 with security May 22. I mostly use my LG phones as a media device/DAP and works perfectly for this as well. Thank you for a great review on this phone.
Hey Matthew, as someone that mostly uses their phone to watch netflix / anime most of the time, I'd love to see how 16:9 videos look on the phone without any zoom on all your reviews. I'd also suggest a different song for the speaker comparison section as the one you use doesn't make much of an impression on differences in my opinion. if you skipped to the loud part of a track on a phone and then played the same bit on another phone one after another through editing that would do a much better job of portraying sound differences in comparison videos. Good reviews nonetheless !
Does that phone have a built in notification LED light? I hate that all these new phones don't have it. My s9+ has it which is why I kept it instead of the s10 I was missing notifications

Just bought a new in box V50...Verizon variant unlocked. I'm hoping the 5g works with T-Mobile. I'm using a T-Mobile variant LG Velvet now but somehow I cracked the back case. Still works fine but I'm going to give the V50 a shot...just wondering about 5G connectivity.

The V50 is a great phone, love that's it's smaller and lighter than the V60, and has the very reliable rear fingerprint. V60 lacking face unlock and having a very unreliable on-screen fingerprint makes it hard to use. Only problem is T-Mobile never picked up the V50, so Sprint version supposedly isn't supported, and the Korean unlocked supports lte data and VoLTE, but drops to 3g on Tmo network calls. Weird thing is data still works at the same time you're on a 3g (supposedly) Tmo network call. Anyone have any insight as to whether it's actually connecting lte even though it says 3g, or how to get 5g connectivity to work with Tmo? Any tweaks that can be done to Korean variant to make it fully functional with Tmo?
We're you ever to find out if the v50 can be used fully on the TMobile network?? Or which variant will work best with no issues on Tmo now ? Possibly the v50s?

@@chrisclayton584 yes. if you are not going to use the usb c port for anything else (file transfer, development, dual screen case, usb hub, hdmi out)...then you are fine even if the usb port gets broken
I had the V50 up until last week when I lost it. It's a GREAT phone and I gad it since 2020. I would've never changed phones if it wasn't for me losing it, and the fact that it's not compatible with Tmobile. It's a GREAT phone

Man!! I buy my V50 because of your videos. I have this phone since 2021 and still it is a beast on its own. And Sir the Battery health is still 93% with Android 12. I'm a heavy gamer playing Wild rift at High Graphics and mostly charge my phone twice or thrice a day, and still the battery is Very Good health. I don't know how they do it, but I think LG battery is engineered to last. Also my Phone still beats today's midrange smartphone in terms of camera. Thank you for never ending support for LG. 🙏. Hopefully they comeback with a bang!! An LG Phone with superb camera, great battery, with 3.5mm quad dac, an sd card and 120hz 2k display 🙏

Just order a v50 verizon unlocked i hope it has android version updated because the v40 was stuck on 9 and i couldnt download alot of apps 😖

Sprint LG V50s can still be used. I just activated a Sprint locked V50 with Boost Mobile.

I would personally since it’s so cheap, but if you’re already worried just go with another brand.
LG v60 has a recurring charging port issue. Many reports of it broken at one point.

LG G8 is better in imo,iphone SE has a better processor but both are gonna play at max settings,plus the g8 has better battery life
