It was coming, every fan foresaw it when she didn’t even tweet about EOE 1st anniversary. She will be announced as KOIAI new bassist in their live in March.
Wakazaemon is so busy with other projects. One of which is her commitment to Marty Friedman's band. She played bass on his latest album DRAMA, and she is part of his bands LIVE DRAMA Tour coming to the US in January and February 2025. She's also been busy performing with Koiai and her own solo work. I have a feeling she may soon be announced as the permanent bassist for Koiai.
The official announcement of Wakazaemon's withdrawal was made on Dec 10. This was the day of KOIAI's second anniversary, the lifting of the digital sales ban for the third EP, and the release of tickets for the next show (in March). Wakazaemon has been participating in all the songs from this EP recording, and has been supporting the band at shows for a while, so we can smell that he is officially joining the band. In his social networking message on Dec 10, Wakazaemon did not mention his departure from EOE, but congratulated KOIAI on the release of their third EP.
To be honest, IMO the best E.O.E. single was their first one (and yes, I have their EPs). At the contrary, KOIAI is just getting better and better (and more creative !!! ) with each release (the recent third EP with Wakazaemon is simply stunning!).So I really hope she will become an official Koiai member - and search for samples of her concert with Eric Martin (Mr Big singer) today, with Li-sa on guitar and Kanade on drums - it's so obvious they are totally enjoying playing together!
Sad news indeed! Bit of a shock, as I was at her last concert with EoE at Line Cube Shibuya on 11/29 and it was a fucking banger! I had to go through hell and high water to get those tickets (I failed 4 consecutive lotteries before I finally got tickets). I am SO GLAD that I went to that concert and got to see her play with EoE in all their glory (was their 1 year anniversary concert too). No announcement at that show to my knowledge that she was leaving, but all MC was in Japanese, so possible that I may have missed it (but I don't think so). Hope to see her resurface on tour with KOIAI soon - something tells me they will do a U.S./CA tour later this year or early next year. Wakazaemon killed it at Line Cube, especially the song where they went from dark at the beginning to her standing on a front stage riser and slapping the shit out of her bass - soooo damn good! Plus, she's a leftie like me... :)
I know on the few Eric Martin ‘Big Night’ videos someone put up on TH-cam today, Wakazaemon certainly seems to be having lots of fun doing that event with Koiai members (Li-sa-X and Kanade). I figure stuff like this, is why people are thinking she will join Koiai. She seems to be having a blast anyway.
@@venusgaijin Don't be sad. She is basically a 'session' bassist who plays on a lot of bands' CDs, and she has been Marty's bass player on tours for several years. I think she just doesn't want to get tied down to a 'band', but the occasional tours with Marty keep her in the game.
I personally think she quit to dedicate more time to Koiai. Many people have mentioned Marty Friedman but I think the prize is being part of a supergroup. Just MHO.
I think she was just too busy with her other plans, but the good news is that, this will create a new opportunity for someone who plays great bass to step into her position with EOE. EOE to me seems to be more about the combination of the vocal style, violin and guitarist Yuki. If they change bassists, I don't think it will have a serious negative impact, additionally the band is still fairly new so they still have a lot ahead of them if they bring on another bassist. The Koiai sound and style really needs the imprint of Wakazaemon's unique sound, but that's just my opinion. I am actually happy to see her touring with Marty Friedman, such good exposure.
I would asume that it's just too much for her atm. As somebody mentioned in the commentary: she got an upcoming US tour and being bound to EOE. Not sure if she would join KOIAI. She might love the freedom of being a session musician? Still sad that she deicided to leave. Wonder who would join EOE and if she can be replaced? Maybe Mina? She was a part of Mike Shinoda's (Linkin Park) Japan "Already Over" session. If you haven't seen it, do it! Though the other sessions were good, the Japanese musicians gave the song another flair so to speak.
I saw their last show at Line Cube Shibuya. Great show. She's a lot closer in age to the members of Koiai. Don't know if that had influence. That and she's been very, very busy.
East of Eden was never going to last, it had the whiff of a top-down factory assembly job right from the start. Technical contributions required and duly given, but no personal chemistry.
Today, Ayasa brought us a Christmas present. A new bassist.Mina, who having performed sessions with Linkin Park vocalist Mike Shinoda and bass influencer Davie504. EOE Will keep going.
Yes, it's a huge bummer for EoE that dear Wakazaemon will continue on her way without them. She is not only an outstanding bass player, but also a woman with an enormous presence in videos and on stage... I'm curious to see how things will continue for EoE after this. I wouldn't say that I'm scared, even if the gap this opens up is not a small one, but you also have to be honest that with EoE, the bass wasn't as directly in focus musically as you might know it from other bands. I'm more wondering if it will be a familiar face that will fill that gap.... Just a silly idea I've had these days, but didn't G.S. announce that they would be scaling back their activities a bit so that each of them could also concentrate on other things??? 🤔😇 I don't think we need to worry too much about the future of Wakazaemon or wait too long to see her again. I mean, looking at the snippets of information together, I'm sure we'll be seeing her regularly quite soon alongside two guitarists we also know very well. :) ___________________ 「 _"完璧なんてありえない" / Perfection? It's always a pleasure to be mentioned to you Wave!😊🫡
But anyway, her departure was a big surprise for me (not a good one)😢
Yeah.. East of Eden had so much potential. But thanks for breaking the news!

Wakazaemon has a big tour in the USA coming up with Marty Friedman

EoE is having a comeback soon

MINA has joined East of Eden as the new bassist.

EOE Will keep going.
That’s what happens when a band is a manufactured group of musicians-their commitment is purely for money.
She moved west! 😜
EOE will have a loyal following in japan i think. But if they would lean more toward guitar driven . It will reach more overseas
Really, bands break up Just ask Saki,It seems they have a lot of stuff going on.Mina is very talented and will bring a different sound and personality.
That AI voice is pretty annoying
@@2abug my accent would bother you 10x more😝
@@venusgaijin I don’t have problems with accent, unless you have an AI accent 🤔😆
