      From my experience one of the big issue for me on Fiverr is that you are asked to give a review when a gig is delivered. Many of the reviews for book marketers say things like "was very communicative" etc. but you aren't allowed to review the results of the gig weeks later so reviews are not very helpful in evaluating the effectiveness of a sellers service. And in my experience sellers have gotten really good at PR prior to your delivery - they make you feel very confident about your purchase. I don't expect guarantees but if Fiverr would allow long term reviews it would weed out a lot of the scammers.

      @@DaleLRoberts Well disappointing your client is of course a bad thing. However, some clients will be disappointed and leave a bad review, no matter how good your hard work is. In such cases, I try to answer and explain to a bad review as reasonable and explained as I can and consider the review as proof that I do not fake-review my work. This goes for a freelancer site like Fiverr of course.
      Ps: Reviews can be answered in such sites, usually.

    • @leemana352
      @leemana352 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@ilkercolakoglu For me, I find that the seller’s response to a bad review is more important than the bad review itself. If a seller has many good reviews and just a couple bad ones with no response I usually just discount the bad ones as being unreasonable customers. If a seller has responded to the bad review in a rational way then I still usually just ignore the bad review. However, I’ve come across a few sellers who got quite nasty when responding to bad reviews and it made me not want to use their services just from the response. Even if the bad review is unreasonable sellers should still stay calm and rational and they will immediately look better than the bad customer. Don’t stoop to their level.

    @togethereasy 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    After a year now, if you look back at that period, was it worth 100 bucks? Also, what was the result in terms of profit? I don't find showing the ranking informal enough. It would be more helpful for us to see actual sales. And I know it's hard to identify the real source as you market at different places, but I think a good tecnical analysis can show actual results on this very campaign.

    • @DaleLRoberts
      @DaleLRoberts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I get a lot of requests for specific numbers, and that's not something I share or have ever shared on my channel.
      The results were moderate. I did see an increase in sales. Was it worth the $100 bucks? Yes. Testing new avenues is always worth it.
      Do I do this for every book I publish? No. That should give you what you really want to know and that's whether you should duplicate this as a marketing tactic to sell more books.
      There is no set of steps you can go through to achieve consistent sales. It's a constant state of testing different methods to see what works and what doesn't for YOU. That's the point of this video...not my personal results for a year ago.
      There are a lot of creative book marketing ideas on Fiverr. I encourage you to try a few and test for yourself. You don't have to spend anywhere near $100.

    • @DaleLRoberts
      @DaleLRoberts  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Log into your B2R account, then select "Affiliate Codes" from the dropdown menu from "My Account" at the top of your dashboard. You'll want to put your store ID under the specific Amazon region. B2R automatically saves that store ID, so when you create links, it'll automatically apply. If the store ID is disappearing or not saving, contact B2R support through the Contact Us link in the top of your dashboard.

    • @DaleLRoberts
      @DaleLRoberts  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, these signatures work in a weird way, and by weird, I mean it seems like this shouldn't work.
      Open the HTML file in your browser. When you double-click it, it should open in your default browser and you will see your signature. Copy and paste it into the signature area of Outlook. Here's instructions on where to find that in Outlook - support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/create-and-add-a-signature-to-messages-8ee5d4f4-68fd-464a-a1c1-0e1c80bb27f2

      It was an increase in sales. I'd have no way of tracking views/impressions since I couldn't direct traffic to anything other than my main landing page. I'd love to try other services that could allow for short links or affiliate links. Then, I could get a better idea of clicks and buys.

    Interesting video as i have been considering some stuff like this, and have done blogs and interviews and stuff and its a lot of work, wouldn't mind outsourcing it for a few dollars.
    However, its a shame you didn't wait for more than 3 days to show results. Those graphs you showed were just noise, there is no data in there. Sure on the e-book it looked like it spiked the next day, but no more than it had spiked 4 days before, presumably with no reason. Sales are too random, and this data is too limited to drawn any conclusions, as shown by the paperback data, which was completely uncorrelated. I'd need to see a few more days trend, or spikes above the previous weeks ranks, to have any idea this actually did anything beyond a little bit of general awareness and visibility.

    • @DaleLRoberts
      @DaleLRoberts  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This video was never meant to be a detailed case study. You'll notice I said the effort was "somewhat helpful".
      The point of this video was more to show what is available on Fiverr for a range of budgets. I did accomplish sales. It was money well spent.
      Test things out for yourself. Every time I've done my own testing, I've found great methods no one was teaching.

    • @jamess2873
      @jamess2873 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DaleLRoberts Ok, but why not wait a few more days and demonstrate that value by having more data. You started the video by showing sales ranking and saying you wanted to increase it and see if this method worked by testing the results, but then you sort of didn't show them.
