He was confirmed for 4th season since the 2nd season with the crowcue game where his ball rolled into the hole number 4 while Colin was hole number 3.

It will be good to get to Benedict's story, and hopefully they do it good. I just hope they leave out the bisexual aspect. It's not that I have a problem with that, but the character in the book was never bi, so they shouldn't be forcing it. Just give us as faithful a depiction of the book as possible.
Had no problems with the changes so far since it didn’t change the basic storyline of the books. Now having to wait until 2026 to watch season 4, the introduction of Michaela (not Michael) and uncertainty of Benedict’s sexuality, it feels as though the storyline is being written by TMZ. This show is was based on the books, please stick to the storyline…
Why is no one mentioning the rumor's of another important Benedict story revel!? If its to be believed an Instagram post reveled that Lady Cowper, Cressida's mom's first name is Araminta! That's the main antagonist of Bendicet's book! And his love interest evil stepmother! So its possible their just going to insert Sophie into the Cowper family. And they can easily explain that she's been in the country house this whole time rather than the London house

Maybe Cressida will be so tormented by her Aunt Joanna she'll change her name and come back to London and meet Benedict as "Sophie" and the rest of the season will be his love hiding in plain sight! Then they can have drama of the family learning to forgive Cressida's past mistakes....

@@biancatatum2925 I think it would be more like she isn't sponsored, that's why she sneaks into the masquerade ball, where no one really pays attention to such things. Perhaps like a "saying goodbye to society" before she accepts her life as a working class woman. At least then she's a bit more free. I know it would have to be a ton of character growth, but I'd love to see it!

I only care about 2 Bridgerton's....Colin and his wife Penelope....I just want to see more Polin in Season 4 because they are my favorite couple from this whole series! Polin needs to have a spin off series that is just about them growing their family together!

I believe the writer has said it’ll be two years before season 4. That’s got a lot of people thinking a spin-off might be coming out next year similar to what was done with the Queen Charlotte series.

Instead of doing the Bi thing with Benedict they could of had Benedict meeting Sophie at Lady Violet's masquerade. Just a single scene would have been enough and they could have started season 4 with the time jump.

In the end of season 3 Ben told Eloise I'll see you at the masquerade ball next year which has already given us hint about season 4 .. It's definitely gonna be ben and Sophie

Once he falls in love with Sophie he will become a one woman man completely committed to her, he will become a loving husband and family man.
They’ve already ruined the series. I watched the first Two seasons in a binge watch and they were really good. But the second half of season 3 made me gag. Not because of Polin. That barely got airtime. Things are spinning out of control. Sophie Beckett should be a strong woman like Jessie Mei Li, but it’s too late. I’m sick of the set up of Francesca and Michaela. Benedict experimented with pretty much everything in all three seasons. The Masquerade Ball is where he meets Sophie. Shouldn’t be a man because I read the book twice and liked that Cinderella story. Anyone not black or white who isn’t hideous would be nice. Benedict needs someone more. Cerebral. All that screwing around better lead to someone more meaningful. People are being nice but it’s unnecessarily cringy to see Benedict in endless bisexual orgies. He has to prove they are quite meaningless by spending the entire season trying to find Sophie. It was a mystery woman who was an illegitimate daughter of the Earl of Penwood. If they change that too I don’t think I want to watch anymore. Bleh.
I was really not happy with the way they changed sexual identities for Benedict and possibly Francesca. It was not necessary and not in line with the original story. They also seemed to shortchange us viewers by making scenes about that and not enough to allow for more storytelling for Colin and Penelope.
If they can go with his planned romance with Sophie, I would enjoy that story. Also I would love to see him exploring his artistic side.
If they continue changing the original story like this story, I won't be watching.
Many fans, including myself, were already disappointed with the recent changes in the series. Let's hope they at least maintain the Sophie romance
I agree, just because someone is sensitive, caring and great at music or art, it does not make them LGBTQ. In fact I've known people in that community who can be bully's and not accepting of any one else's thinking but their own. If they are to repair the changes that they have already done to Fran's season, Michaela will have to get married/pregnant Kill off either her or her husband off and tell Fran's story from that. I just hope they change show runner's before it gets to her season.
They've made too many changes with which I disagree, and the poor scripts have added to the pain, so I've decided I won't be watching regardless.
I totally agree. I dispise the fact that writers/producers/directors rather lose integrity to a show by straying from original story to bend and have some “inclusivity” of sexual preferences. Come off it already.

so annoying for the fact that S3 were utilized as a stage/benchmark for the succeeding pair ups (too much time were relegated away from the main characters)...
I swear if we dont get random Polin love scenes in between important Benny moments ill be so mad. Cause I was jumpscared every time a benny 3 some popped up inbetween scenes
I hated as well the Michaela reveal. I can deal somewhat with Benedict experimenting but at the end of the day he should be a gentleman and not insecure with who he wants to be with. As you said Eloise and Benedict are close which is why I would like their stories to be told together but with more episodes to develop the romance.

I don't care if it's him or Francesca, they ruined everything that was beautiful about this show, now they only promote disgusting behaviours and it has nothing to do with LOVE . They will not give us the most anticipated character which is Michael (ruined Francescas story and made it look like she didn't love John) , ruined Benedict's character beyond redemption. I am so done with this garbage that the new show runner turned it into.this season was a mess with too many side stories and the main character was left with so little time(had to skip so many scenes because i didn't care about them, I wanted to watch the main couple)especially Benedict's scenes were disgusting. Than at the end was the final blow, the destruction of Francesca x Michael 😢. Luke and Nichola were great it wasn't their fault,ahhh so disappointed
I’m hoping we get more of Penelope and Colin’s relationship cos I feel like they didn’t have much screen time together as a couple in season 3. Maybe it was just me.

@@artwithsaya that’s kind of what I’m saying. There was a lot of extra stories and less time focused on the main couple of the season. I just don’t want Penelope and Colin to be nonexistent in future seasons like the two previous couples are now.

Jess Brownell made Benedict a simpleton and ruined Francescas gorgeous love story with John and with Michael. In the book and in the seasons 1 and 2 he was a struggling artist. Jess Brownell made him a stupid toy boy, jumping from bed to bed, without any serious purpose in his life. He couldn't even answer the question for a hobby. I am out of this .
So I think I have a solution for the timeline issues. Start off season 4 like usual a year after the last one, Pen & Colin have a baby, Kate & Anthoney are back with their baby and are expecting another, then you have the masquerade ball, then time jump 9 months and the rest of the season takes place before the start of the marriage season. Theirs no need to have the whole season during the marriage season, Hyacinth is still too young to make her debut and we shouldn't jump straight to that yet, maybe in season 5 or 6. But theirs's a reason I mentioned Kate and Anthony with a second pregnancy. Part of Benedicts story is him dealing with self esteem issues being the "Spare" of the family, that title of Spare won't go away unless his brother has two sons, so that would be good to help the plot along
that gender swap came out of nowhere. I havent read the book, but when John said meet my cousin, and there was the suspenseful music and they show Micheala, I felt let down. How is their story going to progress now? Fran cant marry Micheala. and Micheala wont inherit the title when John passes away. So Fran will be broke and heart-broken.
Season 3 might be it for me as far as Bridgerton goes. I am not on board with the many deviations from the source material. There are other opportunities to tell new stories without changing stories the book dans love. Show Eloise sucks as does show Benedict.
They should just cancel the show. Netflix is an expert in ruining a potentially good tv series. 😂

It might be Bridgerton's downfall if Michael Stirling becomes Michaela, a lot of the viewers aren't ready yet for queer romances
That's because we've imagined the characters in our mind's eyes already. Remember most women enjoy historical romances for the lady and masculine lord themes.
@@francineadams5872 It's not necessary to change main characters to queer in any way in this series. I didn't mind the story that was handled well in season 1 and Queen Charlotte. But otherwise it feels like it's being forced on the viewers.
What if we have a violet-edmund story (like queen charlotte) where the masquerade and the sophie-benedict meeting happen then when bridgerton s4 comes the benedict-sophie love story is told

As much as I love queer stories, I don't think it'll fit the settings of the story. There is no way they can give a happy ending to that. Their society isn't ready for women so much more for gay people.

Enough of Colin and Pen and Benedict, give us more of Anthony and Kate. They were the best couple and story in the show. It is a cop out to have them leave for India. Follow up with them in the show.
I am SO hoping for Eloise to be written into an ace character. Ace representation would be such a wonderful thing at it would mean so much to so many people.

I don't mind an LGBTQ character if thats whats depicted in the books but Benedict being bi felt like a tick box exercise considering that they strayed true to the book in season 1 and most of season 2. Benedict's Cinderella story was incredibly romantic in the books and this plot will be wasted if they stray from it. I fear it will cost Shondaland more fans.
I was reading the comments and all assumptions are so creative that showrunners should literally take inspiration from it.

Why am I getting the feeling that next season is going to be Eloise's or Francesca's, setting up Benedict's season? We know that the show doesn't play with time jumps. They could work on Benedict's introduction to Sophie with the masquerade ball, and carry on with either Eloise's or Francesca's, opting for a one-year jump instead of a two-year one. But then again, using the same possibility, they could just ignore the two-year time jump. Another possibility I'm thinking about is that maybe, just maybe, they might change Francesca's story because of the protest against it, and have Eloise get together with Michaela simultaneously introducing Michael again using the masquerade ball. We can speculate all we want, but I just hope that the gender swap gets discarded.

I really hope that Sophie is a woman, not a man!!! In the book Sophie has light brown hear, so I think and I hope that it stays like that in tv-show.

You've just made a compelling argument for it *not* being Benedict's season... via introduction to Sophie at the ball in Ep 1, and then John dying in Ep 3 or so... and so it being Francesa's season with a slow burn to her pairing up with Michaela whilst other bits of "good Whistledown" coming forth, the Queen dying (as is historical) and also Cressida's (hopefully happier!) stories all play out.
Then we have Benedict re-meeting Sophie in the beginning of S5 and progressing that story arch to marriage, with Marina dying around ep 7 and so Eloise starting her correspondence with Sir Philip...
And that also gives Hyacinth and Gregory time to grow up! :-)
(Oh, and ETA - I've not read the books, I have no intention of doing so... and so have zero issues with additions or inclusivity changes. It's like adding in the Elves at Helm's Deep after all, which is essentially Tolkien heresy AND made an excellent story even better ;-) )
