  • In this talk, we'll discuss when and why teams would leverage the workflow convenience of Cloud Development Kit for Terraform (CDKTF) and what it adds to empower both developers and operators alike. Learn more → www.terraform....
We'll also look at how the CDKTF can be used to seamlessly extend existing Terraform projects using both Terraform Cloud and HashiCorp Sentinel to enforce standards.

HashiCorp provides infrastructure automation software for multi-cloud environments, enabling enterprises to unlock a common cloud operating model to provision, secure, connect, and run any application on any infrastructure. HashiCorp open source tools Vagrant, Packer, Terraform, Vault, Consul, Nomad, Boundary, and Waypoint allow organizations to deliver applications faster by helping enterprises transition from manual processes and ITIL practices to self-service automation and DevOps practices.

Cool, this is the next best thing to AWS CDK, could be my go-to for AWS cloud resources that don't yet come with L2 constructs in the AWS CDK or for doing multi-cloud IaC with TypeScript.

Yeah cool, I wish GCP had official CDK but i guess they're letting hashicorp do all the work for them.
AWS CDK is so good, but this is great if on non-aws envs

Your first slide says "AKA CDTKF" shouldn't this be "CDKTF"?

hcl already looks like python with curly brackets to me. python with the cdk seems like a seamless transition but those typescript? christ!! i would rather use the hcl

Depends on what you're used to, to me python looks like unstructured shit while typescript is well ordered and clean

@@davidschroder9833 im all for the simplicity for provisioning; yaml or python's kind of simplicity. i definitely use typescript in react and vue but the structure here in my opinion looks unnecessarily verbose.

@@davidschroder9833calm down, its just a programming language, nor your mother, father or who ever… everybody has its preferences. I came from java world to python, hated it. Now 3 years later i love it. But i am also open for other languages! You should also be. Dont go all in at one language, be open minded!
