I had a similar unpleasant experience at Karachi customs for a pallet of household goods which I had shipped in from the U.S. back to Pakistan under the transfer of residence scheme for overseas Pakistanis.
In my case, it was the Pakistani partner freight forwarder company of the shipping line in the U.S. that had screwed up the paperwork and were deliberately delaying the processing and release of my cargo. Of course, the yard, the storage facility and the customs are all part of the game and in collusion. It was only after I was made to pay charges exceeding three times the original cost of shipping invoiced to me by the U.S. shipping company to Pakistan customs and storage to process and secure release of my pallet. The customs are notorious for pilferage and extortion through the abuse of authority and law against the public. When I eventually gained possession of my goods, I realized that the customs people had not only stolen and damaged some of my personal effects during "inspection" but also subjected the goods to improper handling and care during storage. I felt utterly disgusted by the treatment I was subjected to by the Pakistan customs.
When the British East India Company first arrived in Mughal India, the British ambassador to Mughal court pointed out the exact same flaws and deep-rooted corruption by customs officials at Karachi port. The more things change, the more they stay the same. The clock needle hasn't moved on the customs officials, it seems. Reprehensible to say the least.

It is absolutely ridiculous extra charging of huge amounts due to the delay caused by concerned authorities. This irregularity/ illegality tantamount to malpractice/negligence, etc. which caused huge financial loss and mental agony to a person who represents Pakistan like its true ambassador throughout the world. Abrar has the right to sue, and there is every likelihood that he will succeed in claiming damages.

yes it worked great in Kochi but Mumbai is also notorious for delays among foreigner travellers that is why mostly avoid taking their vehicles to Mumbai. Kochi is a perfect port and people were amazing there.

Additional charges $440 for fuel and battery removal is charged by handling agent of airline and its common practice. You are right this is scam and they have done it deliberately.
Lahore airport problem is due to customs officials inefficiency and lack of job training.
Second jerry's rent could be avoided by quickly releasing from customs.the cost of keeping bike in bounded warehouse may not be more than few thousand (max 50000pkr) fof 26 days.Thats how they make money by ripping of customers.
Plz note, its Pakistan public problem and not Pakistan govt.you are a famos man and these guys know. It will not hurt you if they make extra money, which is wrong.
A similar case happened to me. My employer sent me a laptop from the USA worth $1100, but Lahore customs claimed they had documents stating the laptop's declared worth was $2700. As a result, they said I had to pay a 35% tax. I wasted around 10 days showing them every proof (bank statement, HP's order emails, etc.). Ultimately, I had to pay around $1200 including 1200 PKR per day warehouse fees plus around 30,000 PKR in bribes to a few people to get my laptop. They also said that if I didn't take my computer, it would go to auction and the government would give the amount.

Salam Abrar, just watched your video. It’s totally pathetic what happened with this process. Unfortunately this is typical Pakistani government officials, incompetence at its best. No wonder why everyone else in Asia is progressing so well (even Bangladesh or Afghanistan will be better than us). It is very easy to find out who caused the delay. Find who owns the shares in the international company that gets the money from storage charges. If the agent had links to the company then he is causing delays to increase his profit. If the storage company has links to someone in customs then they are intentionally causing delays to increase their profits. Follow the money!

VFS Global (Gerries) company that deals with Visa handling for embassies charge extra ordinary amounts for services as small as sms fee. I'm very impressed with you, you managed to travel from Germany to Pakistan, then Pakistan to South Africa on your motorcycle.. Wow you are very brave to kept going on your journeys thru all countries.. Well job, I enjoyed all your videos on your journeys.. Have you ever consider maybe trying traveling in USA & Canada so much to see & would be fun journey for you.. Since you have already traveled most of Europe countries & Middle east/ some Asia countries & Africa too.. You can also consider travel further east in Asian countries too maybe? There is so much more there to see & nature & historical places & cultures & their people & their foods all of that things.. Again congrats on your journeys you have done so far.. GD (Goods Declaration) is to be filed by the agent on your behalf unless its different for carnet but usually all imports, whether temporary like this or otherwise is filed by broker/agentn. Customs officers will then process it. In future, hire a Company here who have experience with Carnet clearing services and have done it in the past. That should help.
But yes, overall, the import system is terrible here.
