Being from America, as I am, I was a late bloomer discovering Stock/Aitken/Waterman just a year or two ago. Absolutely loving what I heard, and, being the completist music collector that I am, I researched and bought EVERY CD release by every SAW artist I could get my hands on. Out of all of their many thrilling artists and productions, I've gotta say that my very favorite would have to be Sonia. Tracks like "Listen To Your Heart", "Can't Forget You", and "Counting Every Minute" are top-notch all the way. In Mike Stock's autobiography, he made mention of the fact that, of all SAW's artists, Sonia was the ONLY one who thanked him for giving her a #1 hit record, which I thought was really sweet. Why on earth RCA records dropped Sonia from its roster after releasing 5 Top 20 hits from her first LP is beyond me. Anyone know what happened or why? Talk about biting the hand that feeds you!
I met Sonia a couple of times, she mainly does musical shows these days. It’s a shame she didn’t make it in North America, as I think she was popular in Latin America and Asia. She has tried to release more hits but they only made it in the top 200, nowhere near the top forty unfortunately. She seems really nice, is very chatty and also has a family now.

I love hearing behind-the-scenes, feel-good stories about our favorite musical heroes as opposed to the usual dish-the-dirt tales. I've seen Sonia interviews. She is typically friendly and very sweet. Glad to hear that she's for real!
