  • The Battle Cry of Freedom or "Rally Around the Flag" was a song composed during the civil war by George Frederick Root. This patriotic Union song became so popular that Confederate Composer; H.L. Schreiner adapted the song to the Confederacy. The speech at the beginning is by Alabaman Governor George Wallace, the most famous segregationist during the 1960's. This is his most famous speech noted for these lines, "Segregation now, Segregation tomorrow, Segregation Forever!"
    Lyrics
Our flag is proudly floating on the land and on the main,
Shout, shout the battle cry of Freedom!
Beneath it oft we've conquered, and we'll conquer oft again!
Shout, shout the battle cry of Freedom!
    (Chorus)
Our Dixie forever! She's never at a loss!
Down with the eagle and up with the cross
While we rally 'round the Bonnie flag, we'll rally once again,
Shout, shout the battle cry of Freedom!
Our gallant boys have marched to the rolling of the drums.
Shout, shout the battle cry of Freedom!
And the leaders in charge cry out, "Come, boys, come!"
Shout, shout the battle cry of Freedom!
    (Chorus)
They have laid down their lives on the bloody battle field.
Shout, shout the battle cry of Freedom!
Their motto is resistance - "To the tyrants never yield!"
Shout, shout the battle cry of Freedom!
    (Chorus)

I'm from Massachusetts and I believe over 300,000 Confederates didn't die for slavery they died for what they loved God, liberty, family, country, and peace.

The union(fedfags) sent thousands to their death for slavery....to enslave all the states (the north states also had to surrender their state constitutions and flags to the feds to be exchanged for new ones after the war)
The south had it correct. The US was supposed to be a confederacy of sovereign states.
The curse upon it was the evil of human slavery.

Barrett (US). So with that in mind the only battle to count was a Confederate victory. (once again your words not mine)

The commander of the Traitors knew of Lee and the Confederacy's surrender and collapse, this wasn't an organized battle of a war, but instead just some slaver assholes throwing a hissy fit that they got their ass beat.
And as a note, the commander surrendered after that little skirmish with a fun quote.
When Colonel Ford surrendered his command following the campaign of Palmito Ranch, he urged his men to honor their paroles. He insisted that "The negro had a right to vote."

@archimedesfromteamfortress5171 Your ignorance is showing. Lincoln invaded the South for REVENUE TAX MONEY and said so!
Union General Ukysses S. Grant was a slaveholder who kept his slaves UNTIL the 13th Amendment was passed in December 1865, several months AFTER the war ended.
Owning slaves was legal under the Constitution: Supremacy Clause, Migration and Importantion Clause, Fugitive Slave Clause, 3/5 Compromise Clause, 4th Amendment, 5th Amendment, 9th Amendment, 10th Amendment and the Corwin Amendment.
Owning slaves was recognized as legal by federal laws of Congress: 1794 Fugitive Slave Act, 1820 Missouri Compromise, 1850 Fugitive Slave Act, 1854 Kansas - Nebraska Act, etc.
Owning slaves was recognized as legal by SCOTUS in their decisions, such as 1857 Dred Scott v Sanford based on the 5th Amendment.
Lincoln recognized owning slaves as legal in his first Inaugural Speech, paragraphs 4, 6, and 9 (which quoted the Republican Party Platform plank #4 in paragraph 6 and the US Constitution 's Fugitive Slave Clause here).
"No person held to service or labour in one state, under the laws thereof, escaping into another, shall, in consequence of any law or regulation therein, be discharged from such service or labor, but shall be delivered up on claim of the party to whom such service or labour may be due."
YOU VIOLATED THE CONSTITUTION AND FEDERAL LAW! THANKS FOR ADMITTING THE TRUTH!

LINCOLN’S TRAITOROUS CRIMES AGAINST THE US CONSTITUTION AND THE AMERICAN PEOPLE
      1. Lincoln waged a war that cost the lives of 620,000 - 830,000 Americans. Including the murder of 50,000 innocent Southern civilians.
      2. He arrested several thousand Marylanders suspected of Southern sympathies, including 30 members of the State legislature, a US Congressman representing Maryland, the mayor and police commissioner of Baltimore, and most of the Baltimore city council. These political detainees were imprisoned in Fort McHenry and Point Lookout without trial, in many cases, for several years.
      3. He suspended the writ of habeas corpus without the consent of Congress (as required by the Constitution).
      4. He illegally shut down and confiscated the printing presses of dozens of newspapers that had spoken out against him.
      5. He re-instated and summarily promoted an Army officer who had been court martialed and cashiered by the US Army for war crimes.
      6. He even had an arrest warrant issued for the Chief Justice of the US Supreme Court because said justice refused to back his illegal actions.
      7. Chief Justice Roger B Taney ruled that Lincolns actions were illegal, criminal and unconstitutional.
      8. He invaded the South without the consent of Congress as required by the Constitution.
      9. He blockaded Southern ports without a delclaration of war, as required by the Constitution.
      10. He imprisoned without trial, hundreds of newspaper editors and owners and censored all newspaper and telegraph communication.
      11. He created two new states without the consent of the citizens of those states in order to artificially inflate the Republican Partys electoral vote.
      12. He ordered Federal troops to interfere with Northern elections to assure his Parties victories.
      13. He confiscated private property, including firearms, in violation of the Second Amendment; and effectively gutted the Tenth and Ninth Amendments as well.
      14. He had his Generals attack US cities full of women and children and burn them to the ground.
      15. He rebuked his general for emancipating slaves and returned those "emanvipated" slaves, in at least FOUR States, to slavery.
      16. Lincoln and his Congress, in at least EIGHT federal documents, pushed their invasion of the South for REVENUE TAX MONEY!
      From Princeton (NJ) University website:
Abraham Lincoln's *"INVENTION"* of Presidential War Powers: Facing the unprecedented crisis of (HIS) civil war in 1861, President Lincoln invoked his "war powers" as commander-in-chief to "take any measure which may best subdue the enemy."
DEFYING THE CHIEF JUSTICE OF THE UNITED STATES, 1) he suspended the writ of habeas corpus by presidential decree. 2) He also declared martial law, 3) authorized the trial of civilians by military courts, and 4) proclaimed the emancipation of slaves--all on the grounds that "I may in an emergency do things on military grounds WHICH CAN NOT BE DONE CONSTITUTIONALLY BY CONGRESS."

Show me an act of Congress or any words of Lincoln or anywhere the tyrannical federal government stated the cause of the war was to FREE ANYONE. The Cause of the War had 2 sides. The united States government wished to restore the Union and invaded the South, and spare me the nonsense at Fort Sumter. And the South fought off the invading army. Those are the only 2 reasons for CONFLICT. Secession is a different matter and the internal affairs of the States including slavery were very much a part of the reasoning for secession. There was no damned rebellion. The South wished to be left alone by meddling Yankees. Who by the way meddle everywhere on Earth to this day.
