Sho kk Sorry, thought it was obvious! Todays boards used by players will have thinner wires and no staples (I have used several Winmau Blade 3 and 4 boards) and therefore the trebles and doubles are bigger with far less bounce outs and hence assisting in higher scores by this very definition. Trust this explains and if not then suggest you look on line regards modern dartboards. Cheers, Paul
Dahlia Man Ahh okay now I know what you mean ... your argumentation makes sense and it makes also sense that the trebles and doubles are nowadays bigger and make it so more easy reach a big score, but I don't know I think that if they would play with these bigger trebles and doubles in 1985 the score would be higher of course, but I think it wouldn't be as high as it is today. Nevertheless I agree with you if you look e.g. at a Phil Taylor who I know throws his darts as a preparation before a match on a dartboard where are the trebles and doubles a bit smaller than they are and you see how this guy dominated (or still dominates) the dart world, with his high scores and checkouts. :)
Is it weird that this happened 6 years before I was born and yet I'm proud of them in 2017 😂👍🏼
