*TEARS* I'm 25 years old, and I remember seeing this on years'n'years ago when I was just a kid. Amazing how I still remember some of the tunes even to this day. I'd give ANYTHING to go back and relive my childhood all over again :-)
I miss it. I watched this video many times when I was a child. It was about 30 years ago. I liked this story the most and watched it many times. I was impressed to be able to see it again. thank you very much。 Thank you more than Japan.
I've been searching for 24 yrs for this cartoon. My boys favorite one when they were in to cartoons. We'd watch it almost everynight to get them ready for bed. Fond memories...
This is my childhood right here. I cried because I lost my tape, but I remember watching this along with the other two stories about the wolf and three little pigs when I was very young. Thank you for putting this up here, you have no idea what it means to me.
I love these, all the colors and animation are just amazing! Hard to believe they did this that long ago, its so beautiful! Thank you so much for posting. joanie
Thanks for posting - a new fav - have never seen this and I have the Silly Symphonies CDs, Melody Time and Make Mine Music - along with the Rarities & Front Lines. The Old Mill and Fastanasias Waltz of the Flowers number are still my favs - but this - along with Funny Little Bunnies - is right up there - Nice to know that there are other unseen treasures for me -
i woke up last week one morning with this song in my head, & i scrambled to find it on TH-cam. i can't believe so many people actually remember this & watched it! I'm 21 years old, & i haven't watched this since I was 3... & i still remembered the entire music of this short.
I am so glad to have found this on youtube! I must have seen it when I was about 5 and it used to be one of those images that never left my mind - but I never realised that the actual cartoon was this old! (I saw it somewhere in the late 80s). I always hoped I would find it on youtube and today I did. Lucky day!
know my little sister loves the whole series of sillysymphony, when she watched disney channel she started to cry. she said she didnt like disney channel.
Esta pelìcula la vi cuando yo tenia 8 años de edad, hace mas de 19 años, y es de las joyas de la animación de Walt Disney, me trae tan bellos recuerdos.... es volver a ser niño.... volver a ser pequeño... me encanta esta película....
When I saw this cartoon on the Silly Symphonies DVD set from Walt Disney Treasures, there was an introduction to this short from an episode of the Disneyland show in the mid 50s, and Walt erroneously says this was made in 1938, instead of 1935. Noice that the Roman numerals at the bottom of the "Silly Symphonies" title screen ends with a "V" meaning "five."
there is a movie called water babies. if you remember a little kid falling into a pond filled with magical underwater adventures, that's what you are thinking of. don't know much else but there is a wikipedia page for it. hope that helps.
fromthesidelines is right. Wilfred Jackson directed this film. Walt Disney was the guiding force behind everything, and was very heavily involved in shaping every film, but he wasn't an animator himself (anymore). And he never claimed he was, either, but somehow the public always thought so anyway. Even after 1944 when, as was pointed out above, screen credit finally was given to the actual artists.
from back when the studios employed actual artists.I'm still looking for one that was exceptional. it was an under water cartoon (not king neptune).i remmeber it as a small child. beautifully illistrated.
@Hellomiso I know! Actually, seeing this cartoon and thinking of pedophilia is kinda sick...it's just a thought that would never come to my mind...Walt Disney made this world a better place, he deserves the honor for his work instead of being called a pedophile
art is only ever expression. there is no crap art, either u can relate to it or not. these cartoons remind me of when i was innocent, before the knowledge of sex.. i use to wonder where babies came from, but no one liked to talk about sex so they made up little stories. its funny, now ppl won't stop talking about sex, and ppl ask. i wish we did all wake up in flowers. the idea we all got created bc our horny parents takes the magic out of it.. lol
@Hellomiso No kidding, especially when it's initially based on a fairy tale. . ..I remember ol walt picking up a copy of the story in a special, saying a little bit about the author and how it was one of his childhood favorites, then reading the first paragraph as a introduction to this cartoon.
I was just explaining that this one did come first. I think it's interesting that they are versions of the same thing, but this one was made first. I thought that would be an interesting fact to know. :)
i think the little redhead is irish...he woke up with his fists up...why is everyone smacking the redhead's butt?! the little swans are so cute and so is the little Spaniard baby with the bullfrog.
Omg guys how can you see evil in this classic cartoon .Im ashamed to say the world we now live in has destroyed innocence and imagination .I loved these cartoons brings back happy memories of a time where people respected each other and life was carefree sighhhhh.YOU NEED TO CHECK YOURSELVES. To have such thoughts says more about you than the cartoon

Water Babies is such a cute and innocent. It brings back memories when life was simple.

Life is always simple when we're beyond, before we learn what a mad house the world is.

very sweet and innocent, I love it, thanks for the good job
The score for this is wonderful.
Wilfred Jackson directed this for the studio, but received no credit for his efforts (as was Disney's custom, until about 1944). Short and sweet!
Its sad they dont make cute cartoons like these anymore! :(
the sweetest disney cartoon!^^

i read that, its quite a sad story, but got a lot of morals, like forgiveness and acceptance of others
