I did not know that the court systems farm out this function. It just now came to my attention because a fraud/rape victim in Utah complained about NO updates in the case of hers and others while the DA is cutting deals with the defendant. The case is Utah vs (defendant) Holzapfel.
@@jdrancho1864 thank you for bringing this up. So VINE will only send notifications regarding inmates that are actively in a detention facility. However, Federal law requires the DA's office to notify the victim of any and all court hearings and allow the victim and their family to share what they would like to see happen in the case. Just know that, ultimately, the DA can proceed however they see fit. When I was at my local DA's office, we each had anywhere from 300-500 cases each. So we definitely relied on victims to call us any time they wanted an update or to catch up. A sad reality. I hope that survivor can get connected to some local resources
99% of these female victims allegedly dated/ cheated on their husband's/ or those men are their baby's daddys. They volunteered for these men instead of marrying sound men. There is a cop right now on trial for his life and risking a life sentence because some random black woman had a Pookie bf. This man was beyond toxic and threatened to harm her, her daughter and was a repeat offender. The cop came to her house the man proceeded to chase the man when he avoided arrest out a window. This was all filmed and less than 5 minutes long. He found the man roughly 2 blocks away with another officer and him pincering the perpetual. The man proceeded to pull something allegedly outside of his pockets and thr first officer shot him with 1 bullet. Not only is this man's personal life over, but so is his career. To add salt into the wounds the lady is taken up by Ben Krump and he is leaning towards a racial issue, and the woman is suing the PD for $5 million as a wrongful death. After hearing all this b.s. I'd say unless this is your husband whose beating you, then I don't feel sorry at all for any of these women. There is a caveat too for women that were randomly accosted by strangers but that's it.
@bensantos3882 my SIL got her face beat in by a guy she was dating. She was playing the field and he caught her. I honestly don't feel bad for her, because she put herself in that situation. But I'm happy to hear that DV victims are alerted to their assailants being released. We dint have that in my area and my husband had to look it up to find out this guy's release time so he could alert his sister. When she got out of the hospital, we had family members keep her from going home for the next week until we were sure he wouldn't show up again.

Realizing that buying things only makes you happy for a few hours or maybe a day makes it easier. We can get dopamine from other things like exercise and being good to others, which offsets the needs to buy things.

what stuck out to me is that she is nice to a fault. Wine for a coworker gift, and starbucks for coworkers. This is why it's so important to have an emergency fund of 3-6 months' of expenses. So you can weather through things like getting laid off twice in one year.
That doesnt matter if the job you have doesnt pay much. How can you save up 3 to 6months of emergency funds when a jobs pays you MAYBE 17 an hour. Most jobs ive looked at want to pay people 11 dollars and at MOST 25 thats not enough to make it on your own these days espically with inflation. Are you expecting everyone to make a lot of money? Jobs these days dont want to pay people anything yet expect YOU to work you A$$ off! You wont get anywhere if you have a decent paying job but have to pay 1200 or more for an apartment have a car payment plus insurance cause its mandatory and other life circumastances. Sorry to say but if you’re making $17 an hour which in my province is $2 above minimum wage you should definitely upgrade your skills to get a better paying job. I’m so shocked that less people in the comments are pointing out the fact that her fiancée isn’t contributing to the household bills. Even if she makes more money than he does the bills should be broken down by a percentage. If he contributed even a tiny bit the excess money from her pay could go towards her debt repayment. She needs to work on her financial health but she also needs to have a real conversation with her fiancée. Teamwork makes the dream work!

When my husband and I were dating and engaged, we had a long discussion on finances and what debts we had at the time so that way we knew what we were getting into before we got married and what to tackle once we were living together and having joint accounts. Even to this day, 7 years of marriage in, we still stick to our rule of telling each other of purchases we make that are over $100. It works for us!
I learned from my parents that in relationships you should ALWAYS discuss how much you are willing to spend without consulting the other!! It can be so enlightening. Even though my spouse and I do almost separate finances, I still wouldn’t spend tons of money on anything without communicating because if I become financially unstable my partner is not going to be okay with just passively watching me unravel. And the more different your styles on saving, spending, investing, etc., the more often and detailed these conversations need to be!

I screwed around in my 20’s and got into really bad debt. I went from a 760 credit score to the 400’s and what I thought was insurmountable debt. Ten years later and I am in a much better place financially, but it’s still something I work on daily. If you’re struggling out there, keep you head up. It is a long and hard journey to get your finances straight, but once you do you’ll have a better appreciation and understanding of money. And hopefully you will be smart enough to never want to go back to that place.
All I can say is that I'm just like her. When I was making good money I could out-earn my stupidity, but then when my hours got cut: that lifestyle started to catch up to me and I realized I couldn't afford anything. She needs to come to that realization too.
I don't want to take comfort in anyone's difficult financial journey, but sometimes it's nice to know there are others in the same situation. My story is not far off from this one and it is rather eye opening hearing it come from someone else. I am 34 with twice as much bad debt (combined with my partner). There is hope though and watching these videos is really helping me to stop making lame excuses. It's never too late to take control. Looking forward to clearing out the debt this year finally. I think the biggest piece that I take away from Sarah's episode is the importance of openly discussing finances with an significant other. The good bad and ugly because beyond being honest it gets you on the same page to grow or fix a situation together not apart
Man I see a lot of myself in this lady's predicament. I had one bad year in 2015 with a major surgery and a house flood and it took me forever to get right side up on it all again. I had almost as much cc debt as her and as little hope for retirement. Hang in there, it is possible to be credit card debt free, I am living proof!
Think this is probably the most important part for this channel, people that come on might stick to it if they know they are going to get a follow up in 6-12 months

Caleb, fees from the Credit One credit cards are annual fees. Those are charged annually or sometimes split into 12 months that’s why you see the $8 monthly fee. Those type of Cards do charge annual fees and have no kind of excellent reward other than allowing a user with lower credit a 2nd chance
Credit One is pretty predatory. They go after folks with lower scores, charge monthly fees, have very high rates, and offer multiple cards like this person has.

I would not get married to her finances. Sorry the fact he is unaware of this is a huge red flag. The fact he has not contributed more with his disability pay check is a red flag. The fact neither in their age group has savings is a red flag. The fact she is more worried about financing a wedding than setting up a marriage for success. Red flag.

I’m 37. I watched this and it was like watching myself. You can get through this. Life will get so much better once you make a real choice to change everything about the way you interact in the world. I have another 18 months ahead of me, but at least I feel in control for the first time in a long time. The best part of this process will be when you finally coming clean to your partner… that’s when true connection starts. Tip: Your local library can be your best friend. I have cancelled audible, Spotify, Netflix, Disney +, and the list goes on. It’s free and it’s awesome.

Cars make a lot of people poor. I am sure you are smart and know this but for other people reading, there are so many ways to live without a car. Living in an area central to tech jobs and getting a bus pass can save several hundred dollars a month in payment, insurance, gas, and maintenance. Groceries can be delivered weekly for a nominal fee and walking more helps us stay in shape. Some cities have rail and it is also very efficient.
Did you watch the whole video? He does bring in a decent amount monthly and before that was on disability. I'd say he needs to get away from her with how she thought it was okay to hide massive debt from the fiance and instead tells a stranger first. Huge red flag on top of everything else.

In a bad spot myself, 7K in the hole, treading water, with no way out. These videos inspired me to give up my car and drudge through the trenches for a while so that i can be financially stable in a year. This should save about $500 in monthly. Man this channel is great. Before I found Caleb's channel I was at least making changes. A big one was cutting down on takeouts (only twice a month now) and do better grocery shopping. Already so much relief. And luckily my partner and I are transparent about our finances and both contribute. Still learning so much in areas I can improve

For your budgeting app if you were to make one i think itd be cool if someone could set a spending limit on a certain category and each time they pass it they get a notification "WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU ALREADY SPENT YOUR LIMIT FOR THE MONTH!" Or have your bank accounts and credit card accounts connected like mintuit and each time your credit cards go over your balance you get a notification that goes "YOU LITERALLY CANNOT AFFORD THIS"
I think the "fees" on her credit cards were from going over her limit. She would max out her cards and then the interest would stack on at the end of the month, causing her to go over her limit.
She is the bread winner and out them in a worse postion? I bet she is covering up for his bad descions too. She probably feels like she has this and will fix it somehow.
I hope it works out for her. Speaking from experience: it’s way better to just get married and tackle it as a team rather than going into further debt. Do a potluck/BBQ celebration a few weeks/months after the ceremony, have a friend volunteer their time to do the officiating, the photos-you’ll make more memories.
Or not marry a woman with these types of debt. These are her problems not mine. Especially keeping them from the man. To all men, get your life in order, then find a women with none of these issues. But to each his own.

I feel like it could help motivate them to get their debt in order because they can see all the money they are leaving on the table (on top of the interest on their debt). To become a CFP is a massive undertaking. It's the equivalent to a masters degree in just one test. You study for at least a year before sitting for the test at the bare minimum. $7-800 per course and I believe there are 7 courses? Then sitting for the test is like another $1000. Becoming a financial planner isn't just something you become for a financial channel on YT, otherwise all the other yahoos would have done it too. Additionally a channel like this that talks to the general public would be hard to give specific and direct advice to people and since other people watch this videos you can't sell it as a "you're doing this just for this person" because there are nowhere near enough disclaimers that people shouldn't take this stuff as anything more than entertainment. Sponsorships also probably couldn't happen at all because it would show clear bias. Finally, you need a degree/finance experience of at least 2 years before you can even sign up for the classes to study for the test. Best yes, it would be cool if he did. If you want to watch people with CFP, I know that "The Money Guys" are CFPs. I don't know of any others off hand.
Caleb does a great job with these videos, but at the end of the day, his message is pretty basic: Stop spending money, pay off your debts, save up some extra money. Its pretty obvious to most people. Hes far from a CFP, both certification wise and knowledge wise.

I did not know that the court systems farm out this function. It just now came to my attention because a fraud/rape victim in Utah complained about NO updates in the case of hers and others while the DA is cutting deals with the defendant. The case is Utah vs (defendant) Holzapfel.
@@jdrancho1864 thank you for bringing this up. So VINE will only send notifications regarding inmates that are actively in a detention facility. However, Federal law requires the DA's office to notify the victim of any and all court hearings and allow the victim and their family to share what they would like to see happen in the case. Just know that, ultimately, the DA can proceed however they see fit. When I was at my local DA's office, we each had anywhere from 300-500 cases each. So we definitely relied on victims to call us any time they wanted an update or to catch up. A sad reality. I hope that survivor can get connected to some local resources

99% of these female victims allegedly dated/ cheated on their husband's/ or those men are their baby's daddys.
They volunteered for these men instead of marrying sound men. There is a cop right now on trial for his life and risking a life sentence because some random black woman had a Pookie bf. This man was beyond toxic and threatened to harm her, her daughter and was a repeat offender. The cop came to her house the man proceeded to chase the man when he avoided arrest out a window.
This was all filmed and less than 5 minutes long. He found the man roughly 2 blocks away with another officer and him pincering the perpetual. The man proceeded to pull something allegedly outside of his pockets and thr first officer shot him with 1 bullet.
Not only is this man's personal life over, but so is his career. To add salt into the wounds the lady is taken up by Ben Krump and he is leaning towards a racial issue, and the woman is suing the PD for $5 million as a wrongful death.
After hearing all this b.s. I'd say unless this is your husband whose beating you, then I don't feel sorry at all for any of these women. There is a caveat too for women that were randomly accosted by strangers but that's it.
@bensantos3882 my SIL got her face beat in by a guy she was dating. She was playing the field and he caught her. I honestly don't feel bad for her, because she put herself in that situation. But I'm happy to hear that DV victims are alerted to their assailants being released. We dint have that in my area and my husband had to look it up to find out this guy's release time so he could alert his sister. When she got out of the hospital, we had family members keep her from going home for the next week until we were sure he wouldn't show up again.

We should consider the possibility that she was highly irresponsible before meeting fiancee. Fiancee saw the hot mess of money bungling and refuses to get involved. Car payment yeah, I had paid full cash for my 1st car it was totaled due to no fault of my own life freaking happens. I guess youve never had life happen to you hu? I got another car eventually paid it off and I helped out my mom who was down on her luck and ended up with another car that I am now working to pay off. My mom passed away but i left the car to my stepdad i didnt want to take it back. I gave it to her and by extention him.

When my husband and I were dating and engaged, we had a long discussion on finances and what debts we had at the time so that way we knew what we were getting into before we got married and what to tackle once we were living together and having joint accounts.
Even to this day, 7 years of marriage in, we still stick to our rule of telling each other of purchases we make that are over $100. It works for us!

I learned from my parents that in relationships you should ALWAYS discuss how much you are willing to spend without consulting the other!! It can be so enlightening. Even though my spouse and I do almost separate finances, I still wouldn’t spend tons of money on anything without communicating because if I become financially unstable my partner is not going to be okay with just passively watching me unravel. And the more different your styles on saving, spending, investing, etc., the more often and detailed these conversations need to be!

I screwed around in my 20’s and got into really bad debt. I went from a 760 credit score to the 400’s and what I thought was insurmountable debt. Ten years later and I am in a much better place financially, but it’s still something I work on daily. If you’re struggling out there, keep you head up. It is a long and hard journey to get your finances straight, but once you do you’ll have a better appreciation and understanding of money. And hopefully you will be smart enough to never want to go back to that place.

All I can say is that I'm just like her. When I was making good money I could out-earn my stupidity, but then when my hours got cut: that lifestyle started to catch up to me and I realized I couldn't afford anything. She needs to come to that realization too.

I don't want to take comfort in anyone's difficult financial journey, but sometimes it's nice to know there are others in the same situation. My story is not far off from this one and it is rather eye opening hearing it come from someone else. I am 34 with twice as much bad debt (combined with my partner). There is hope though and watching these videos is really helping me to stop making lame excuses. It's never too late to take control. Looking forward to clearing out the debt this year finally. Man I see a lot of myself in this lady's predicament. I had one bad year in 2015 with a major surgery and a house flood and it took me forever to get right side up on it all again. I had almost as much cc debt as her and as little hope for retirement. Hang in there, it is possible to be credit card debt free, I am living proof!

Caleb, fees from the Credit One credit cards are annual fees. Those are charged annually or sometimes split into 12 months that’s why you see the $8 monthly fee. Those type of
Cards do charge annual fees and have no kind of excellent reward other than allowing a user with lower credit a 2nd chance

Credit One is pretty predatory. They go after folks with lower scores, charge monthly fees, have very high rates, and offer multiple cards like this person has.

That's the issue with having a poor credit score, reduced credit options and higher costs if you can get credit.

I’m 37. I watched this and it was like watching myself. You can get through this. Life will get so much better once you make a real choice to change everything about the way you interact in the world. I have another 18 months ahead of me, but at least I feel in control for the first time in a long time. The best part of this process will be when you finally coming clean to your partner… that’s when true connection starts.
Tip: Your local library can be your best friend. I have cancelled audible, Spotify, Netflix, Disney +, and the list goes on. It’s free and it’s awesome.

Cars make a lot of people poor. I am sure you are smart and know this but for other people reading, there are so many ways to live without a car. Living in an area central to tech jobs and getting a bus pass can save several hundred dollars a month in payment, insurance, gas, and maintenance. Groceries can be delivered weekly for a nominal fee and walking more helps us stay in shape. Some cities have rail and it is also very efficient.

These videos inspired me to give up my car and drudge through the trenches for a while so that i can be financially stable in a year. This should save about $500 in monthly. Man this channel is great. Before I found Caleb's channel I was at least making changes. A big one was cutting down on takeouts (only twice a month now) and do better grocery shopping. Already so much relief. And luckily my partner and I are transparent about our finances and both contribute. Still learning so much in areas I can improve

Hiding that much debt from her fiance is a significant sign of poor communication and deception which will impact on trust and future of the relationship....they should not get married until the debts are cleared and she has a mind set change.Unfortunately she is a liability and this lack of transparency will bring them both down. For your budgeting app if you were to make one i think itd be cool if someone could set a spending limit on a certain category and each time they pass it they get a notification "WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU ALREADY SPENT YOUR LIMIT FOR THE MONTH!" Or have your bank accounts and credit card accounts connected like mintuit and each time your credit cards go over your balance you get a notification that goes "YOU LITERALLY CANNOT AFFORD THIS"

I think the "fees" on her credit cards were from going over her limit. She would max out her cards and then the interest would stack on at the end of the month, causing her to go over her limit.

I hope it works out for her. Speaking from experience: it’s way better to just get married and tackle it as a team rather than going into further debt. Do a potluck/BBQ celebration a few weeks/months after the ceremony, have a friend volunteer their time to do the officiating, the photos-you’ll make more memories.
Or not marry a woman with these types of debt. These are her problems not mine. Especially keeping them from the man. To all men, get your life in order, then find a women with none of these issues.

I feel like it could help motivate them to get their debt in order because they can see all the money they are leaving on the table (on top of the interest on their debt).

The guests lately have had far more extreme circumstances. Retirement planning is beyond the horizon until the basic foundations are in place.

Seeing what's possible AFTER the debt might be the kick in the butt they needed to finally get the motivation to get out of debt.

To become a CFP is a massive undertaking. It's the equivalent to a masters degree in just one test. You study for at least a year before sitting for the test at the bare minimum. $7-800 per course and I believe there are 7 courses? Then sitting for the test is like another $1000.
Becoming a financial planner isn't just something you become for a financial channel on YT, otherwise all the other yahoos would have done it too.
Additionally a channel like this that talks to the general public would be hard to give specific and direct advice to people and since other people watch this videos you can't sell it as a "you're doing this just for this person" because there are nowhere near enough disclaimers that people shouldn't take this stuff as anything more than entertainment.
Sponsorships also probably couldn't happen at all because it would show clear bias.
Finally, you need a degree/finance experience of at least 2 years before you can even sign up for the classes to study for the test.
Best yes, it would be cool if he did. If you want to watch people with CFP, I know that "The Money Guys" are CFPs. I don't know of any others off hand.
Caleb does a great job with these videos, but at the end of the day, his message is pretty basic: Stop spending money, pay off your debts, save up some extra money. Its pretty obvious to most people. Hes far from a CFP, both certification wise and knowledge wise.
Its so amazing to see so many venerable people. I literally threw money at my problems and as a distraction. So happy she came on the show.
