I love how this gets really chilling the moment he talks about what he did that evening, and it doesn't quite make sense in light of the situation, and the realisation slowly dawns on you...
Oh god I just realized. “You let your brain fill in the gaps.” She didn’t actually have a brother, because why would you move in with your brother and housemates when he probably would have had parents. He thought it was her brother, but she never told him about a brother. So his brain filled in the gap to think that click clack was the brother
I just had this vid on in the background the first time and at this point I was like .. why would your brother with you to your moving-in party? And then, why would he know the house so well... Whoops
and when the boy said click clacks are what you are not paying attention to, and the narrator didn't talk about him when he was saying what he was doing that night
Delightfully creepy tale. I love how it started off so innocent and safe, and then slowly turned into...well, you'll have to excuse me, I have to close my window upstairs. The wind must be blowing...I keep hearing this "click, clack" noise coming from up there...
Your voice is warm and light. I hope you have grand children. This is one of those stories a grandpa tells his grandchildren on a long, cold winter's night. Thank you!
I read this story in class then decided to read it again and then again😂 then I Google this to check if there is a movie..... I love this story😂😂😂❤️❤️❤️
This is my favorite story in the entire world. I love it so much I made a painting about it, depicting what I thought the scene of the boy’s room looks like, I’m going to give my teacher because she said it was one of her favorites 😊 For Christmas :D
Quite wonderful to hear Neil Gaiman's voice for the first time. I've enjoyed his Sandman comics from the 90's. Repurchased graphic novels. Watched some Lucifer episode's. I love the way he tells a story.
It comes from the line - your brain fills in the gaps. Think about it. If the narrator really was moving in with his girlfriend and her housemates, why would her 'brother' be there with her and not with her parents? The narrator saw the boy and instinctively linked him to his girlfriend but he's not her brother at all, he's the Click Clack and he's going to 'drink' the Narrator
My take was that the boy was A Click-Clack. He had "rattlebags" hanging up there - previous victims... I think he wasn't really a boy, either, but took that form since the easiest way to trick the guy was to pretend to be a boy and have him assume the boy was his girlfriend's brother. That's my take, anyway.
So, fun story. I was talking to a friend and asking for TH-cam creepypasta reading recommendations, because (to quote myself), "just reading doesn't usually get me spooked". I then clarified the one story that made me qualify that with "usually": Click Clack the Rattle Bag. And then I googled it, because I wanted to send my friend the link to the story, and I found this. So in about 10.5 minutes, I will probably need a change of underwear. Thank you for uploading this, your service to this universe is a great one.
It’s crazy I heard this story years ago at a friends birthday party and have hardly thought of it since but a train of thought lead to it so I looked for the click clack story and amazingly found it and sure enough this is the one
I’m here for school but this guy is amazing but I’d like to add that when I flick that light switch and it doesn’t wanna cooperate that’s when I tell the kid he on his own. “I’m outta here!”
I absolutely love his voice for creepy stories
The moment the boy said Click Clack's look like what you least expect, I immediately knew what the twist was going to be.
what did you think the twist was going to be? when u said that I thought it was the boy
and yet still we hang on every masterful word.
Can't you see the author is talking about himself? Look at his face, he looks like someone drank him.

Really fantastic story.

A few seconds before, when we learned the Click Clack could be anything, whatever you weren't expecting, thaaaaaaat's when I knew he was a goner.

Really well done story.
Fantastic gory details, but not terribly scary. That might just be because I figured out the ending supes quick though.
