You did a great job skirting the chicken coop. What does it matter that the lines are not lined up, it serves a purpose and you executed it well. By the time you get finished with building the homestead, you will be a journeyman carpenter. Keep up the great work. 👏
Soooo pretty I love all your hanging planters and pots filled with such colorful flowers!! They are going to look incredible in another month too! 🥰❤️🙏🏻🇨🇦🍁
I'm so refreshed after this video. Springtime in Alaska🥳 I miss having a yard. My rental has crushed gravel "yard". That window planter on the coop is 💯😃 Wood splitter... you didn't say how much gas. I guessed no more than a couple gallons, or until it overflows? Love your toadstool overalls and the pencil accessories🤣 I'm glad Wyatt's mishap wasn't worse😵💫 This was a wonderful vid. Thanks for sharing!
You amaze me with what you can handle. I was always afraid I would fail at certain things. You go girl. With that shredded cabbage you should make Egg Roll in a bowl. Really good and fast
Hi sweet one! Aaron is right...he has taught you well in the carpentry skills! You did a great job on the skirting for both projects!! Too bad you have to close the chickens up, but they can do a lot less damage that way, and the neighbors will be happy! I love all the flowers...they make me happy too...lol! Big hugs and many blessings, my lovely friend!
Fancy, girlie and functional “bibs”!! How cute you look in them. Come winter, your mom will appreciate all the endeavors that went into her skirting. The same sentiment from the girls in the coop!! Keep up your wild spring/summer work schedule. Just love visiting with you and until next time…. Be safe! ❤ Momma G.
I always use variegated vinca in my hanging baskets because it trails over the edges. I’m sure your glad to see color in your yard. That’s a sure sign of summer.
Girl!! I love that you got those mushroom overalls!! Suits you. Well done, Carpenter Jess!! If Aaron doesn't want you touching his tools, he shouldn't have taught you how to use them! 😜🤣 I love how it's all coming together! Oh, those denim overalls are cute too! Take good care! Hi to Judy and G-Mom! Hope Wyatt heals up soon!
Hi Jessica, Aaro, Wyatt and your mother! Aaron has taught you well Jessica, you and your mother done a great job in the cabin. Of course Aaron makes it go faster I’m sure. Chickens are safe and secure now and the chicken coop looks great. Prayers for Wyatt’s healing on his hand. Dinner looked yummy to me, I like easy when I’m busy. Try some balsamic vinegar on the zucchini and squash then put on the grill, so delicious. My kids would gobble them up. That’s exactly what we did, we taught our kids on a stick shift first. You’d be surprised how fast they learn when they want to drive, lol. The chicken coop fencing is done, good job. Your flowers look lovely and you have decorated the wood shed and chicken coop with some pretty flowers. Have a blessed night everyone! ❤️
So many great projects completed. Jessica, you are a woman of many talents. You are making a beautiful home for your family both inside and outside. The chickens should be happy too. Have a great weekend.
One way to use up shredded Cole slaw mix is sautéed it with some onion and then pour scrambled eggs on top and cook until eggs are done. I love it in my scrambled eggs. So yummy. Or just sauté with onions in bacon grease for a delicious side dish.
You've all done such a great job on your place. Insulating under the house is such a difficult job. I couldn't see all around your skirting to know if it's completely enclosed. If it is, one suggestion, if you haven't added vents, you should. Normally, there should be one vent per side to ensure adequate air circulation under there. (same under your chicken coop) Hope you all have an amazing week.
Yes there is air flow on the cabin. In fact too much we will be closing it down a bit in the fall. But keeping a air vent on each of the 4 sides for good cross ventilation but I should of mentioned that
You guys did a great job skirting at your mom's place and the coop. And your plants looked great. Take care and thanks for sharing with us. Love your channel.
@modernhomesteadalaska I love watching you two. You're such a wonderful couple, very blessed. Always appreciate each other. It's obvious that you both do. Ty for sharing! ❤
Aaron, you taught Jessica well! Jessica you might be messing up letting him know you can do all that hard work. Lol. Your grill marks are great also. I love these Project videos.
First off... glad to see y'all at the cabin, and wowie the creek is high (though not like you showed us last year). Guess I'll finish starting to watch this adventure. Looks like it'll be eventful😂
Awwww man no bloopers?? I'm shocked that you were out of items 😂 you are always prepared, what am I going to do with you 😂😂😂. Everything is looking so good, I'm glad you took the steps to protect the chickens.
You know I didn’t harden off my plants I just tossed them out but one thing I did was put my basil together as a big cluster and they seemed to thrive even with the cooler weather although I’m in southern Ontario.
I have had these chickens for 3 years. Didn’t know that somone was going to move in with a violent dog that would kill them, so I make adjustments to protect them as we go. You have to be willing to bend and make changes as you go with a homestead and animals.
i have a question that is totally off topic here. You use a lot of beans in your meals and i think you can help me out. I have tried using dried beans to make meals but they never turn out. I soak them i cook them and they are always super hard. Are the beans old or am i just doing something wrong? HELP!!!!! thanks in advance
Gas in a wood spliter ? Mine doesn't take gas. You grab it with 2 hands and swing it .😉 Split 3 1/2 to 4 cords a winter with a 6 lb maul. At 68 yrs old.
While I think it kind of you to cater to the neighbors. It is extremely entitled of them to think it your responsibility to keep their dog from going after your chickens. Legally THEY are responsible for their dog and so it is up to them to keep their dog on their property.

👍Great job getting things done! The tank cover should tell you what type of fuel to use. You just amaze me!
lol it should right or it does and now I have to look at it after you say that
Look at you go! Such a hard-working family. So excited to see how you plan your garden this year. Be blessed friend.
Thank you so much
You are a busy family. Everything is looking good. Thank you for sharing. Have a great weekend. Take care✌️🇺🇸🥰
Thank you so much
It’s amazing how much you accomplish in a week. You are truly becoming a carpenter. Nice job on everything.
You got that right!
You and Aaron are so cute together. Glad to see more of your mom. Hate Calab got cut, glad it wasn’t worst.

Chicken coop looks beautiful. You can do all the things. You can make some egg rolls with that slaw mix .
So many projects completed in this video. Great job on them all! Praying Wyatt's hand heals completely. God bless you all!

You've donan incredible job! On skirting the 2 buildings 👷♀️ 😎 👏 you should be proud 🎉
Sending love from Ontario 🇨🇦
My goodness even your mom is handy 🤯 the coop for the naughty chickens look great 😃 baskets 👌glad you guys are proud Americans 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 so are we 🌸🌺🥰🇺🇸😘
Ahh thank you so much
Now that is summer, you can wear hoodies in the summer in Alaska. You’re lucky I’m jealous. I wish I lived in Alaska.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The hoodies are very useful to hide from hudge (the size of the b52 plane) mosquitos.
Your chickens 🐓 are so lucky they have a predator safe enclosure. Your garden is taking shape. Enjoy your time in the garden.
Thank you
I actually knew the answer for the wood splitter...lol. love that you jump in and do what has to be done. Thank you for sharing

Thank you happy you came along for the ride
Lol, I'm touchy, touchy, touchy, touching them. Ha ha!! ❤ your channel is awesome. It's so nice that your husband is teaching you to be a carpenter.
lol thank you what was he thinking tell me don’t touch! lol so funny this guy but he is honestly a wealth of knowledge that should be shared

Every thing looks great 👍Hi from Colorado Springs 😀
Hello from our home state!
👍🏻 only because I helped a friend and we had to figure it out back then🤭
Lol the sound of the steyrofom
Yikes huh?!?😂
I keep my geranium inside as plants during winter. I use your potting mix everywhere. It is perfect. Love your window arrangement on the chicken coop
Thank you

You did a beautiful job with your flowers love your channel
You have a real touch with flowers, looks great!
Thank you! 😊
Why not put a Gutter on the
Coop. Free Water & Drained
Away from the Coop.
Possibly a Water Barrel to
Collect, for Chickens &
Garden ?
Yes and amen! That is exactly what we are doing
That squeaking of the fiberglass almost did me in 😂😂😂
Beautiful 🤍🕊
Thank you 🙌
4lb burger would be interesting…more like a meatloaf…lol. Ya’ll did a ton of work. Thanks for the video.
Love your videos really inspiring!
Awesome job on everything Jessica ! You’re amazing !
Awesome job!
Thought you said a quick lunch?! Lol
Wow so beautiful 😍

Great idea
Wyatt….duuuuude??? Many prayers for quick recovery!! Sorry buddy.
Right only a couple more days and we can take the stitches out. Poor buddy

Use non-alcohol premium gas for all your small motors, chainsaws, and weed whackers. It really cuts down on the maintenance.
Nice good to know
hi Arron and Wyatt
👍👍
So random!! But where did you get the cute blue overalls you are wearing when planting the flowers?🌺
Duluth in Anchorage, my mom got them for me.
❤❤❤❤❤❤
hi Jessica and Arron
Hello there
Hope I'm wrong but my chickens would use that gate as a jumping spot
Oh man I hope not! We will adjust if they do
Girl them guys ain't got nothing on you you can keep up with them you and your mama great job girl
lol thanks
Hello Friend !
Hello friend
You will try anything
Jess, wouldn't it make sense to wait on having chickens until all those safeguards are in place?
I have had these chickens for 3 years. Didn’t know that somone was going to move in with a violent dog that would kill them, so I make adjustments to protect them as we go. You have to be willing to bend and make changes as you go with a homestead and animals.
Mind using that wire brush on your grill, they’ve been known to leave bits of wire behind and then end up lodged in your neck 😫
Yeah I told Aaron about that I should get him that scrubby thing instead good call
What color paint is on your house and coop?
No idea! It was the darkest blue option on the choices for siding and so I took a pice in to the homedepot and they color match the siding

1st what is your elevation?
2nd are you putting salt or season salt of any type
Clip your chickens wings. They will fly right over that. Good job though!😊
Runners? Look like backing boards to me.
Yeah some thing I think
I can drive a stick shift.
Nice
Too hot of grill will shrink the burgers fast
Ok. Wait. Wyatt. ER. IS HE OK?!
Yeah he is good. Just done stitches is all
Who cares you do a good job

Yeah I’ll stick to gas! lol Aaron and the boys do it by hand for the cabin
@@modernhomesteadalaska I can understand that. I would too. I still can't believe my wife can do that at her age. 😉

Right I get it. I’m trying not to have a war. It would be so bad if they did get ahold of a chicken. So I’m like just put them up on the weekend
