So the term "Clutch" in sports that accompanies a certain mythology/narrative. Michael Jordan has probably the best mythology surrounding the term "Clutch". The mythology often leads most people to believe that "Cluth" means a player almost always hit game winning jump shots. One of the key themes being "Jump Shots", as any other shot doesn't fit into the mythology surrounding this nomenclature of "Clutchness". So players that hit other kinds of shots at the end of games (i.e. dunks, free throws, hook shots, lay ups or put backs) are not give the same amount of value in terms of "Clutch" as somone who hits a fadeaway jumper. So in many people's eyes "Clutch" does mean that people hit game winners more often than not which does equate to perfection/success. When you take 10 3-pt attempts per game and make approximately 40% of them which Dame does btw... it is not luck when one bounces high and goes in it's probability at play. Players don't actually "get hot" or "go cold" nor are they "streaky shooters" nor do they "get a lucky bounce". They are professionals who are taking hundreds of shots per year! There is a probability that some will hit parts of the rim and still go in giving the appearance of "luck" but it is just mathematics at play.
