Perhaps he just never found the right person, we will never know. I have searched the internet and only found one reference to am unnamed American girlfriend. I never met him, but he always seemed like a lovely guy and certainly was a gifted musician loved by all who were blessed to hear his music.
Steevee, top of the mornin'. Cracking way to star the day. Bless him, hanging on to his strat as though his life depended on it (it probably did). Watched and listened to a lot of Rory interviews over the years, an awful lot by German interviewers, with the same boring, uninspired questions. The man had the patience of a saint. A real gent. A gentle man. There are quite a few interviewers I would have happily slapped!!.. Thanks Steevee. You never let us down. .........(It's a shinkickin' mornin', gonna kick start the day ......"). 👍✌️❤️
Very noticeable the puffiness of his face here. His brother Donal says this was due to a poor mix of medicines he was prescribed partly due to his fear of flying I believe. Later it affected his liver, again according to Donal.
@robert mcknight Hi Robert. I've listened to most all of the interviews & read the accounts from Donal & the others. I'm a retired nurse. The round face, also called moonface look, typically comes from steroids. Rory was prescribed steroids along with a form of tylenol but neither drug is useful for fear or anxiety. I did read his hands hurt from his vigorous playing. So maybe that attributed to drs putting him on that combination. Tylenol is toxic to the liver if taken frequently or in large amts. He did have liver problems in the end also. Such a tragedy to lose him. He was a musical genius, loved & respected by all.
Yes Rory was one of a kind, not a shred of ego and he totally immersed himself in the playing AND singing. An extremely talented guitarist, vocalist and writer sorely missed by thousands worldwide. It’s a bit sad watching this and realising that this must have been pretty close to the end for Rory. I think that you can sense it in him - he knows that he is not well and it shows. Thanks for the upload 🎸🙏
Remember I was kinda shocked when Fresh Evidence was released and Rory resurfaced for a moment in the summer of 1990. His face on the cover and photographs for an article in Q magazine told a very sad story.
2:53: Rory, your attitude was spectacular, too!!!! I'll never forget your Gig near my hometown ! I think that this interviewer had no inkling of talking with a legend.. People - keep Rory's flame alive!

He must have been talking about the Fresh Evidence album here, I wonder if those extra tracks he mentioned will be released anytime soon?
Wow he was expecting to play with Willie Dixon on an album (along with Eric Clapton and Keith Richard’s) I am guessing this never happened.
