These are indeed beautiful Rondeaux, as are many pieces of this underrated composer. La Forqueray is such a wonderfully dark composition, much like another of his Rondeaux, 'La Félix' (a curious title for such a brooding work!) As a lovely contrast, the D major ' Rondeau' sounds to me so dreamy and wistful, a 'reverie' if you will, with just a touch a melancholy to it. Just beautiful, thank you so much for sharing this Lucille.
Thank you Chris for your lovely comments. It is especially refreshing to have feedback from someone who already knows and appreciates the works of Duphly.. And your comments were so perceptive .....the melancholy of La Forqueray and the wistfulness of the D major rondeau ...exactly my feelings about the two.
Your welcome, glad to have found your channel!I also appreciate your comments about the varying of repeats, something that interests me greatly and which I endeavour to do in my own playing. Please feel free to listen to and/or comment on my version of Bach's Sarabande from the G major 'French' suite, which incorporates some melodic variation.Meanwhile, I shall enjoy checking out the rest of your channel!
A winning combination of beauty: the pieces, the performance and the instrument's sound. Brava. Thanks for uploading.
So beautifully played...thank you..💐
Amazing performance, great commentary :) I love your videos :)
Your support right from the start of my "video" career has been wonderful and so very much appreciated. .. Thank you!
