I’m just gonna say it, Scrat could defeat Thanos, and the idea of a nutty sabre tooth squirrel which cased a major natural disaster several times having supreme power is a terrifying thought.
That's what I thought the movie was implying because the dad was about to be killed they were going to kill the mom too. Wow about Diego's girlfriends past? because the only thing that we actually know about her past was that she ran away from her pack and she was captured or rescued by Gus.
I think there must be a deeper meaning behind the parallels of Scrat's journey and Manny's group. It seems weird to me that this random group of mammoths and a crazed squirrel (?) are almost always in the same spot. Perhaps Scrat, representing climate change is (sort of) following the normal people who must eventually deal with the end of their species. Extinction is a huge theme in these movies and I wonder if Scrat's strange desire for the nuts is some form of obsession for survival or desire for change in the course of human actions... which perhaps correlates to Manny's sense of helplessness when it come to being the "last of his kind". Sid is in a sense the "ignorant" one who is educated but may not do anything when it comes to extinction, whereas Diego trusts the survival of the fittest theory and seems to be mostly focused on the day to day, maintaining that "we're just animals". The opossums and Buck are all basically born to be wild types who don't give a hoot about anything (symbolism maybe). The Vultures in Meltdown are pretty cynical (a representation of people who don't think we can change our ways perhaps?), and the sloth cult could be a metaphor for crazed religious fanatics. I think this could all be evidence towards a theory about how the characters each relate to what the effects of climate change (Scrat's actions) would have on the common man (the animals) and humanity's different points of view on dying, the end of the world and life as we know it. The Ice Age movies are really quite dark when you delve into them, and I think this could bring an even deeper meaning to the films.
Wait i always thought the cave painting was a depiction of Manny's parents, because when he's getting together with elli he never mentions he had a family.
5:36 it was finally brought up at the begining of the most recent Ice Age movie about Crash and Eddie. It's probably the most surprising thing from that movie because I never thought they'd bring it up as long as I lived.
