Martin is sorely missed, but I'm glad Tom isn't shying away from his legacy and embracing everything from old CF to Hellhammer these days. Now, if only they played more from Into the Pandemonium...
Regarding tuning, that may be true, however lowered and slowed down Procreation of the Wicked (eg. from Wacken 2011) was, well, wicked. I consider this performance to be far better than the original.
damn Grossmann is really nailing those grooves. obviously these songs should be pretty simple for a musician of his ability, but it takes a different skill to nail those mid pace grooves, while playing it with actual feel and not just with robot precision

Haha. I remember when I excitedly bought that cassette. I put it in my car stereo on the way home and was like...huh? Celtics Frost was amazing otherwise though.
A really good set, but for me the best was Wacken 2006 when still Celtic Frost. The truly heavy, black, grinding rawness sounded like a direct transmission from Hell. This video is a must see.

I’m 52 and still love Frost from the day I heard them many many years ago. Actually saw them in Boston on the Pandemonium tour.
