    In this video, my little brother and make the golf flush by adding on wheel spacers and wheel adapters, along with get the car ready for new brakes. So we installed a set of 15mm wheel spacers up front, and a set of 25mm wheel adapters in the rear.
    THIS IS A 100% SAFE MOD, if you install them properly. Make sure you use a proper torque wrench to install your lug nuts on the wheel. It isn’t rocket science, it just takes a few more seconds to do properly.
    I’ve had wheel adapters on my Honda, and my older brother has adapters on his Mini. We’ve both had them for awhile now, and we haven’t run into any problems!!

    IMPORTANT: Milan you used the wrong lug nuts. Please dont drive with the Golf until you fixed that. There are 2 different types of lug nuts with rounded or conical end. You can see the differenz at 4:10! You could may lose your tires while driving. Sorry for my bad english, i am from germany.

    your scrub radius could now be wrong as you've spaced the front wheels out, unless the aftermarket wheels were the wrong offset and you've now corrected it with the spacers. the rear spacers don't appear to be hubcentric, so that's gonna be dangerous, the studs are now taking the weight of the wheel as opposed to the hubcentric ring as the manufacturer designed.

  • @aaronm406
    @aaronm406 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Since I have a good understanding of hub bore, I’ve never wanted to get wheels spacers without the hub centric ring/lip.

  • @bridger911

    Did the back wheels wrong, those lugs you put on for the wheel lugs are supposed to be the lugs that attach the spacer to the hub not the way you did it

    Those spacers are not a good idea but those are fine adapters fine as they fine true center any. I'm a professional machinist and true up centers all day everyday. I have a set wheel adapters one for the past six years and I've had no problem with them so far. If you can find hub centric spacers or adapters for the exact size hub for the possible two different sized hubs on vehicle then do it. These spacers and adapters are probably just generic meant for more than one type of bolt circles.

  • @tribaltechno
    @tribaltechno 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    love the stance.
    but if you're using wheel adapters/spacers, make sure they're hub centric, the ones you got on the rear aren't hub centric, the front ones are

    I have a mk4 Jetta 2.0 same color as the oem color on your lil bros golf most mods you have done are the same/similar to what I have done i actually just purchased the same exact front 15mm spacers which came with the extended lugs on my car. Thanks for the videos keep them going , if your brother goes any lower in the front I recommend rolling the fenders due to wheels sticking out more and possibly get a hybrid oil pan $80 us dollars and is steel at the bottom of the pan a true life saver.

  • @brendanchennells4649
    @brendanchennells4649 8 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    that's not the difference between the 2. there both wheel spacers. wheel adapters are actually made to fit a different lug pattern to your car then the existing one.

    • @brendanchennells4649
      @brendanchennells4649 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Joseph Kaufman as a matter of fact the front are not. neither are adapters. the fronts are universal for 2 different patterns. 5x100 and 5x112. the rears are just spacers as well.

    • @MrSkerz32
      @MrSkerz32 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      + Brendan Chennells Exactly! Those are spacers. Just bought a set of spacers for my Jeep for clearance and they are a 5x5 to 5x5 bolt pattern, which states it's a wheel "spacer". You're 100% correct man. But what really got me heated was that they used the nuts that come with the spacer as their lug nut. Those nuts are meant to secure the spacer to the hub, not the wheel to the spacer. That's why vehicles have closed end lug nuts. Supposedly Milan is a car guy though...

    • @milanmastracci
      @milanmastracci  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      How would you use a lug nut on a car that doesn't have studs..?

    • @MrSkerz32
      @MrSkerz32 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      That's not what I was saying. You're supposed to use closed end lug nuts for the studs on your spacers, not the nuts that come with the spacer. The nuts that are included are for securing the spacer to the hub. Of course you can't do that with a car that doesn't have studs on the hub but you should have bought true lug nuts because it is 10 times safer.

    These kinda mods could really screw up your car and its handling of you don't know what you're doing.
    First check if they're legal in your country and state. Then find out the oem offset of your car and calculate if you even need wheel spacers in the first place.
    Best way is to get proper fitting rims in the first place that already have the right offset for your car.

    • @QkSilver04GTO
      @QkSilver04GTO 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They do the same thing. The adapter has 2 advantages... since they tend to be thicker, you bolt them down to the hub and then you bolt the wheel down to the spacer. An adapter will also allow you to mount a different bolt patterned wheel to your car if you choose to do so. Both spacers and adapters are safe to use provided you get wheel and hub centric ones and if you need longer wheel studs or bolts, you buy good strong ones like ARP. As always, torque everything down to spec and double check the torque at the recommended interval.

    Neither the spacers or the adapters were hubcentric and before you say that the spacers were you could see the hub ring on the spacer wasn't in contact with the wheel so you're gonna get vibrations and wheel wobble at 60-70+ mph dude...

    • @SwiftlyGuyver_
      @SwiftlyGuyver_ 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Josh Foster I agree with you on the wheel spacer that it wasn't exactly concentric with the hub. Now the wheel adapter though is a different story. Those are only lug centric which they will find the true center if the bolt patterns were done correctly.

    • @Joshf93.
      @Joshf93. 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      James H but on the wheel adapter there is no hubcentric lip that will slot inside the centre of the wheel itself, I stand by what I said that none of them are hubcentric, wheel wobble will still occur

    • @tristangump3784
      @tristangump3784 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Josh Foster hello, could you please explain what having the spacers hubcentric means? Always good to have new info

    • @Joshf93.
      @Joshf93. 7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Tristan Gump in layman's terms the wheel hub of most cars has a lip in the centre, that lip will sit inside the wheel itself to keep it centred to reduce wobble and vibration, when you add a spacer WITHOUT a hubcentric "lip" means that the surface the wheel now sits against will be flat and the only thing keeping the wheel centred will be the wheel studs/bolts, this lets the the wheel move slightly as it rotates causing vibration, having a spacer WITH a hubcentric lip eliminates this and will keep the wheel centred as it would on the hub of the car, thus removing vibration/wobble, hope this helps!

    • @Joshf93.
      @Joshf93. 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ***** correct, having a gap between the centre of the wheel and the hub itself puts all the stress on the wheel studs/bolts.

    If i put wheel spacers with 57.1 Center bore on my mk4 golf will i nees biggger hub center rings or no? I plan to buy 57.1 ID 73.1 OD hub centric rings because my xxr wheels have 73.1mm centee bore but since im putting wheel spacers I am not sure if that will fit, so its simple,
    I have on my shipping cart: 8mm wheel spacers 57.1CB, hubcentric rings 73.1 OD 57.1 ID, XXR 553 wheels with 73.1mm Center bore.
    I have a 2004 MK4 Gti 1.8T. I would really appreciate your help.

    with the wheel adaptor couldn't you go from a 4 lug to a 5 lug or that doesn't really happen

    You do realize you can just put the car in gear to keep the front tires from spinning so you can tork them up off the ground and do you realize you can just set your parking brake to lock the rear tires so you can tork them without having to get in and put your foot on the brake

      Yea, cause if you have an auto it would be easier, cause the car would be in park, and no need to do anything.

    Hey Milan, so I have Enkei RPF1's and they require a hubcentric ring. What that be compatible with wheel adapters? Or would it cause an issue?

    • @MrSkerz32
      @MrSkerz32 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +MichaelEscobarTV You can purchase hubcentric wheel spacers. They are typically better for your vehicle anyways so that the wheel is flush to the spacer and doesn't cause vibration/wobbling. Just search on amazon bud.
