homeschooling kiddos while trying to stop toddlers from getting into everything is my every day here and i loved seeing it in your video! it always feels like other large families don't have those moments!
Thank you so much. I'm feeling burned out lately and this video and what you shared in it is precious. I'm having difficulties with my 5,5 years old, who is often aggressive and violent. Each day can be a challenge but God is my sustainer. I love watching Ben, he is so similar to my soon 23 months old son. Blessings to you and the whole family.
Ive been married to the most wonderful man and have been homeschooling for 11 years and i just lost our 8th little one. We have 7 beautiful healthy children but im heartbroken and am not recovering as well as I thought. God is still good and He still is faithful! This content blessed me with the encouragement I needed to try to remember why all the sacrifices we have made are still So So worth it! God bless you, and thank you!! ❤-Rachel
This made me cry. I’m 10 years in with an almost 2 year old and I’m feeling very weary. When your 2 year old was getting into things I laughed because that feels like my entire day right now. Thank you for the encouragement ❤
You're welcome! Oh wow, I'm so glad to hear this encouraged you and I completely relate to those emotions. Hang in there...you're doing something so important for your kids and your family.
I wish communities had not broken down so much that the nuclear family is left entirely alone to raise kids. Everyone moved for jobs over the last few decades. You can see the massive strain this has put on parents. It's not natural to do it all. I started taking my 19 month old to daycare twice a week for 3 - 4 hours. That really helped me to get a break. I still want to be there for my child, but I need a break from the endless exploring of a toddler. To be able to take a nap or sit and read without distractions. Once she's out of the toddler phase, I won't need daycare anymore.
I consider you my virtual Titus 2 mentor. 😊 I love seeing your day and hearing your wisdom. I have twin toddlers and boy is interesting now that they dont take a morning nap most days. Thank you for sharing as always!!
Really appreciate how this video is honest about the way things get bustling with kids in the house in wintertime. Very encouraging that it’s not just us!
Kept my tree up late too this year. Took everything off but the white pretty lights. It was a "winter" tree for January . Added some green and light for the cold month
That's what we've been doing the last few years. We feel the same way about January and even February for that matter, except I just can't bring myself to keep the tree into February. 😅 We take mostly all Christmas decorations down but the Christmas trees with just the white lights. Thank you for your Christmas book list! They made good gifts for my younger children and some friends with young kids 💚 🌲 🤍
I was just thinking of making baked oatmeal for breakfast tomorrow. I like your way of adding apples on bottom. I'm going to try it! Love your relaxing and encouraging videos. Thanks for sharing.
I wish I would have found these videos when my children were little. Such great advice. I still watch. I've gleaned so much sound parental guidance. thank you. P. S. - love the piano and singing
This was beautiful and it grounds me in my homeschooling journey. My boys are 13 and 15 but I love large families and learning from you. You're doing a great job❤❤❤
Thank you for sharing! Mother of 6, homeschooling 5 of our children. 1st year homeschooling. (I did homeschool 1 for 1.5 years before this.) I am trying to use AO but I’m not great at it, at all. I love morning time though. They still push back a bit. I struggle so much with consistency. I’m praying and trying though. I am tempted to fear we are behind. Especially math and reading.
My 3 children are all adults now. I help watch/ raise my grandchildren. I love your content it inspires me. I worked as a nurse when my kids were younger 😔 Watching with your children is a blessing 🙏❤️ Keep sharing you are impacting many lives for Gods glory
I'm so glad you put this up right before we begin another week of homeschooling! It's great advice to remember for this upcoming week. You're such an inspiration and I also have a son who is almost 2- so seeing your little one around while you homeschool the other kids is so relatable! Thank you so much for your videos, I love watching! (Also, I'm in NJ- so we're state neighbors!😁)
We did too and had a special dinner with President Trumps favorite desserts served at the 2017 inauguration. 💕 rich chocolate cake and cherry vanilla ice cream.
I love the discussion about cardinals, made me laugh, so familiar. We are doing Ambleside Online, so a lot of what you shared was familiar but so nice to see how you do it. I have four kids 10 to 2, so I’m in the thick of it. We are probably done having kids but sometimes I’m not sure as I know what you mean about when they mature things change.
Nice to hear of others who are doing the same thing. I like studying birds in winter because they are easier to see this time of year when there are no leaves on the trees. Kids are a tremendous gift from the Lord. Lots of hard work, but the reward is priceless!
I only have one baby under 2 but i found this video so inspiring! Thanks for showing us a glimpse into your day! Subscribed! Ah also: I love that you show your kids the inauguration and major politcal events. Historical events are important to be introduced to since it effects all our lives!
Thank you for all your encouragement! I have a nine, six, and four year old, and three week old.. if you have any tried true tips or tricks for baby sleep or sleeping in general I would love to know what you do! I baby wear and co sleep and I think I heard you mention that you also cosleep and do whatever is easiest for you… But I would love as much details you’re willing to share! If you do, do you transition to independent sleep at some point and how do you do that and at what age is? What about naps?I’m all ears lol! As much as I would love any wisdom, you would want to share
Yes! 3 cups of oats 2 eggs scoop of honey 1/4 cup butter 1 cup milk 1/2 tsp. salt 2 tsp. baking powder cinnamon raisins Line the bottom of pan with sliced apples and spread this mixture on top. This makes an 8x8. Double it to make a 9x13. I usually quadruple it to make two 9x13's, which is two breakfast meals for us. Pop in the oven at 350 for about a half an hour.
"They are standing on the foundation we gave them"... this is beautiful and so true! You have a beautiful family 😊

I am tremendously sorry for your loss. I can’t even fathom 😭

@@Ana_Cecilia615I could have written this myself. Moving away from family is overrated.
Mother hood isn't easy!! It's a never ending job . With out god .... impossible 😊

That's a great way to think of it...a "winter tree!" I like that. That's what I'll call it. :)
Same. I think greenery and white lights all the way into February give things an elegant winter look.

We also took the day to watch inaugurations!!
Love it! It was fantastic!
We did too.
Same here! ❤
Us too! I hope we can actually go to events in person when our kids are a little older.

From Portugal. ❤
Hello! Thanks for watching!
In one of your episodes you mentioned how you let your children help plan out their school year? Could you explain that process more?
Hi! Do you have a recipe for the apple cinnamon baked oatmeal?
Yes!
3 cups of oats
2 eggs
scoop of honey
1/4 cup butter
1 cup milk
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
cinnamon
raisins
Line the bottom of pan with sliced apples and spread this mixture on top. This makes an 8x8. Double it to make a 9x13. I usually quadruple it to make two 9x13's, which is two breakfast meals for us. Pop in the oven at 350 for about a half an hour.
Thank you for this! If you don’t mind me asking, what was your age when you had your first and last babies?
You're welcome! I was 24 when we had our first and 43 when our youngest was born. He's now two.
@ love that! I’m 36 and just had our 4th! We would love two more so that gives me hope :)
@@kaitlync15 I had one at 37, 38, 41, and 43. My two pregnancies in my 40's were some of my healthiest!
I saved this playlist to go with the Burgess Bird book. th-cam.com/play/PL0ot3GidTzbLFCO_26cPbkYh_WAfcRqD0.html&si=d5FEjiYYe63-1KcS
Oh wow! That's perfect. Thanks for sharing that! I'll update my show notes to include this link for others who want to use it. Thanks. :)
