Thanksgiving is a blessing but like you said it can be a hard day of memories. I lost my mother a few days before Thanksgiving 38 years ago and that makes a tough time for families before the Holidays. I think of her everyday and have pictures of her on a table with my dad and all the family that they produced . Without them and their parents we wouldn’t be here! Love to cook but I make way too much food. Use to have a large family gathering but no more. You have a fabulous Thanksgiving & blessings to you & your Family. Keep these stories coming! Christmas is a comin🎄🎅
I’ve discovered a recipe for making biscuits in a cast iron pan on the stove top with self rising flour! Can’t wait to share how it comes out! And yes, your stories are TREASURES to me 😊!!!
Oh how I would have loved to have heard your Aunt Mary play that piano. I remember when my Mama would cook big dinners and the grown ups would eat first. Like your Mama, she would always make sure she saved enough for us children. Yes, the holidays are so different now. My Daddy, Mama, Big brother, and older sister are all in heaven now. I miss them so much, and the holidays aren't the same anymore. Granny Pat, I hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving. Love you!❤
Granny Pat, I can relate. My family got together for holidays and events and each gathering was always around what we were going to eat. We spent hours planning the menu and cooking and about 10-15 minutes eating. In my opinion, it was worth it. Nothing beats the family recipes we all have and I just wish that my grandma showed me how to make a lot of her dishes. She didn’t write down her recipes because everything was a pinch of this or a dash of that and taste, taste, taste. I’ve been spending the past decade trying to recreate grandma’s recipes. Food definitely brings happiness and for those of us that cook, it’s a way of showing our love.
Good morning Grandma Pat! I adore your heart, your sentiments and stories. I will pray for you, that you have a wonderful holiday filled with great food and sweet memories. 💕💕
I love you so much. I miss so many family members too. It is hard. I have faith in everything the Bible says. So I am looking forward to seeing my family members again one day. That's the peace that I keep my eyes on as I miss all my family members who have passed on to glory already. Your videos sure do help me find comfort too as you take time to visit with me/us. As I said in the beginning of my comment, I love you. Happy Thanksgiving, and to your loved ones also. I hope to see you and visit with you tomorrow. Every day you're on you brighten my day. God bless you.
Granny Pat. My favorite story teller, telling my favorite stories. I would love to sit with you,and swap stories. You have no idea, how much you and I have in common. I love you,Granny Pat,and ALL that YOU Have to offer and share. Prayers and blessings. ❤❤❤
That’s a natural talent your Aunt Mary had. I had 1 grandfather alive. He was a gorgeous, tall Scottish Presbyterian minister and he scared the heck out of me.🥰. He died when I was 7. You take care and have a joyous Thanksgiving.🦃🦃❤
Have a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving with your family Grandma Pat, you just warm my heart. I truly miss those days when my grandma was alive, everyone always gathered at her house and as a child I just sat there and listened to them laughing and talking. My mom had 12 brothers and sisters and boy that was a gathering, they all had 4-6 kids, my mom only had 3. I remember they gathered at Grandma’s house every Saturday or Sunday. My mom was divorced when I was 8 so we moved in with my grandma. Folks are truly blessed if they still gather with family, sadly times have changed and it doesn’t seem like they do that anymore. 🦃❤️🥰
I LOVE listening to your stories!! I wish I took the time and spent this kind of time with my mama, she passed away 1993. Man I would trade 5 yrs of my life for 5 mins with my mama. Trouble is people don't learn till it's too late. So everyone be thankful for the family you have...God Bless you Granny and keep making these videos!!❤
I loved this story! I remember getting together at my dad’s parents’ house in the next city over on Holidays. So much fun playing with all my cousins and terrorizing our grandparent’s poor chihuahua with incessant petting! 😂 Poor thing would hear us coming and hide under the couch! 😆 All of the adults set at the huge dining table in the dining room and us kids would sit at the small kitchen table with about 10 chairs shoved up to it! Later we would take turns running up the stairwell with a cardboard box and “sledding” down the stairs for hours! 😆 What great memories we all hold, huh? ❤ You are an absolute treasure and we all adore you! We don’t even care if you crawl out of bed with wild hair and want to tell us all about what you did the previous day! Congratulations on all the new subscribers! You are truly loved. 🥰 Hugs to you and Happy Thanksgiving! 🦃🍽 🎉
You know it’s a shame that most kids will never experience what it was like back in our days, I’m soon to be 70 and I have so many fond memories back in the day. Have a Blessed Thanksgiving 🦃
I lost my Mom 43yrs ago but we still talk about what a good cook was. Yes those are fond memories. I love having conversations with you. You are a joy to me and all the other subscribers. You are filling such a need and that is why your subscriber number keep growing. God Bless and know you will have lots of reasons to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. Enjoy your special dishes. 💕
You do help me to remember of the times gone by dear Pat,I'm going on 76 and you are like the big sister I never had! Did have a younger brother however,as you did.☺💕
I’m thankful for you & your stories. Happy Thanksgiving. When anyone talks about food, my ears perk up 😂. My Grandma was the best cook in the world. She’s teaching angels how to cook now & I miss her. ❤
What a fun story! I had both aunts and uncles that could tell a good tale! I miss those days. I also had motion sickness as a kid. I hated asking dad to pull over. 😆 I have an ancestor that was on the Mayflower so I have another reason to celebrate Thanksgiving. William Bradford was his name. Thanks so much for your story! Biggest Hugs and Love. 😍😘🤗 Susan
Never get tried of hearing your stories ...its means a lot to me brings back so many memories...Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family ...I lost mom 5 years ago and my daddy last year holidays are not the same anymore but memories❤
Great storytelling here. The imagery created when you tell of that uncle repeatedly reaching for an extra biscuit is real. Pat, I can see him eating them and you with the other children saying "they're not going to leave any for us!" And of course, the picture of Aunt Mary, with !20 fingers! making that piano DaNcE!!
I used to have aunts that used to come and tell us,all kinds of family stories, they were the best! Your memories remind me of them.Thank you so much for waking up these memories, you rock!🍭🌈⛵
I love listening to you, Granny Pat. My parents and grandparents were from East Tennessee, and I recall my grandmother talking about the preacher coming home for dinner one Sunday. Poor man had a nose so long that he could probably see the tip end of it himself. He certainly couldn’t hide it. Well, everyone sat down to the table, and it must have been my great grandmother who said, “Preacher, we have mountain manners here. If you see something you would like to eat, just make a long nose and reach.” My fondest memories of my grandmother were of her telling her mountain tales. I always asked her to tell any particular one. She would say, “Aww, you’ve heard it before.” She loved to hear me tell her that I wanted to hear it again. She always prefaced her tales with, “I don’t know if it’s the truth or not. It’s probably not.” You and your stories take me back to that simpler time when I felt safe and protected and when my parents loved hearing me laugh. My mother could tell any joke she ever heard. She and her siblings loved to play pranks on each other. It was them against the world. No infighting. The world is no longer like that, I’m afraid, but I can make myself believe it is for a little bit when I listen to Granny Pat.
Granny Pat, I have memories like yours too. The details you remember and the way you tell it make me nostalgic. It was a time in our lives that was so special. Thanks for the memories.💕❤️carson in Ohio.
I so related to the part where you said the children ate last, that’s why I learned to like chicken livers, gizzards backs and necks, because that was all that was left when there was a big dinner for the after church crowd at my grandmas house. I just turned 80 on November 1st , I too live alone, but I love reflecting on my family memories!! Thank you for keeping me company.. Have a most Happy Thanksgiving and many more!
Happy Thanksgiving. love your stories. love the giggling story reminded me of the same thing happened to my son and his friend in church when they were 10 yrs old. a lady singer came on stage that had a horrible singing voice completely off key. just terrible and they both were holding in giggles. she was really bad and they almost got me tickled too. they had their hands over their mouths . the more she sang the worse she got ! I was so glad to get out of there as fast as we could. when it was safe we all laughed. So I can picture you and your sister rolling around laughing. Made me laugh. I know that feeling of trying not to laugh. It is hard to hold in a giggle. thanks for your videos.
Please enjoy your family gathering at Thanksgiving! I have many who won’t be at my celebration for Thanksgiving and I DO remember them all and Thanks God for them all. Thank you for just doing all the video work-we can’t help but love you PAT!
You remind me of my Granny. She was so sweet!!! She’s been gone since 1976. She died two months after I got married. I was 17, when I married my kids Daddy and we were married only 18 years when he died. He was 42 and I was 36 when he died of cancer. But, now, I have an amazing husband. We have been married 27 years. He’s so good to my kids, our grandkids and our one little great granddaughter. I love you and all your stories!!!
Miss Pat, you can talk to us anytime. There's always someone out here looking forward to a a visit with you. 🥰 I hope you found something good to eat for breakfast.

So many of us long for a time where people were decent, families did things together and everyone had fun. Your description of your Aunt Mary is one that, as I listen, I can almost hear her banging the ivory keys! Thanks again, for a wonderful trip back in time. Happy Thanksgiving to all here and to you Granny Pat!

Happy Thanksgiving Granny Pat! You are so right about family food gatherings… special family recipes are a love language that can connect the old generations to the new… we love your videos!
Oh how you have opened up and Blessed our hearts on the power of what food brings to all of us! My Father was a missionary to Canada. Since the age of 8-till 14 and a little passed that, we lived in a one room cabin, no running water and baths in a #3 washtub with hot water off an old cook stove. Had very limited access to anything what most kids did but, I have seen things, been places that most only read about in books! While on trips with my father and family preaching to gain support to go north ( many churches in Kentucky) many times we would stand and eat on the corner of the table. Several times there wasn’t enough to go around and in kids bellies. I recall a few times my Mother would save her plate and push it over to me and sissy and say I’m not so hungry. I count it a blessing in life to have had knowledge of those times and also knowing that we never went hungry and was taken care of in all reality. Todays day I am 53 about to turn 54 and would not trade any of those memories for a truck of gold. I can’t explain my feelings very well but this old world needs to hear your wisdom, humorous stories! I can relate, and I for one and many more are very thankful for that. P.S momma always had an extra pan and pot in the stove as well! ❤ So thankful and blessed to hear you walk through your past, that’s a gift! For me your my other Grandmother now, I don’t have anyone left to call Granny. Love you dearly. ~Wade

So thankful and blessed to hear you walk through your past, that’s a gift!
For me your my other Grandmother now, I don’t have anyone left to call Granny. Love you dearly.
