Just thinking about the two vocalists, i would never think they would sound that great together...but holy shit would i be wrong. Their voices compliment each others so well.
It really does. I did all-night road trip through a desert when I was a senior in HS and was cranking Deftones albums with the windows down to stay awake and it’s still one of my favorite driving memories. I was already to Minerva by the time the sun started coming up, and it was just, for lack of a better word, perfect, watching the silhouettes of cacti flying by with the first rays coming over the horizon with that soundtrack.

Deftones are about as far from "sneaky good" as you can get. They've been creating musical masterpieces for decades now and have sold over 10 million albums. Come on, man!
Deftones is criminaly underrated. And yes you are right, this and other tracks are very sexually charged 😮. Let's just say certain gentlemen clubs love Deftones 😂.

Not to mention the drummer is a beast. The ghost notes on the symbols and the snare are money 🤘 Maynard has been in several deftone tracks throughout the years. This track screams Tool Dude, I live in Cleveland. West side in Elyria. 🤙
@@LibertySpam "7 words" has that vibe. but it's also the post-grunge guitar sound and drums with a hint of funk and/or hip hop beats that also defines nu metal.
Deftones have been very vocal about their desire to not be included into the nu metal category. They are a Hard Rock band period. Nothing nu metal about them.
Please don't miss out on seeing Tool live! You are one of the few reactors that I have personally thought/said out loud that I truly hope that you have an opportunity to experience Tool in person. I've seen 311, Metallica with kid rock powerman 5000 and Korn, Mars Volta, Hawthorne heights with secondhand serenade and armour for sleep and finally Tool. While Mars Volta was incredible, the Tool show in 07 in San Antonio tops it just a bit
Tool is headlining with Godsmack on the 25th and Deftones is headlining with the Foos on the 28th, last day. I’ve only had the opportunity to see Tool live twice and A Perfect Circle once, I’m still in shock that my favorite band is going be so close to home again after just seeing them a year ago, happy and grateful they’re coming back with all these other amazing bands!!
Deftones are bad ass. I saw them in a really small venue in Dallas 20+ years ago when their sophomore album “Around the fur” came out. I’d never heard anything like Chino before loved it. So many good tracks, Passenger is my favorite Deftones song but My own summer and Be quiet and drive are neck and neck for runner up.
I agree with those choices!! 🤘 I also love any cover they do but maybe because that’s because I’m old enough to remember the originals, lol. For them to do masterfully cover The Cure, Weezer, John Lennon…but then do it again with The Cars, Depeche Mode and even Sade… it’s amazing to me that they can sound like themselves yet still be true to the original of such a variety of songs…it’s just another unique part of Deftones that I love
Deftones are my favorite band of all time. All of thier albums are amazing. I found them when they released adrenaline. The song bored has so many memories for me. I have seen them in concert more than any other band. Can't wait to see more reactions to them.❤
If I had the chance, I would go to every Deftones show. They're that good. Chino Moreno, the singer, has a ton of great side-projects too. Team Sleep and Crosses immediately come to mind.
Not the best live band early on, but the last 8 years or so they have taken live shows to another level. I've seen them about 20 or so times and only one show during the Che days did they sound phenomenal. They always bring stage presence but the sound was always lacking for me
