Hi there, loved seeing Premier Inn German style! Great to see how it differs and yet still so familiar. I do like the decor very modern and fresh looking. Good to hear about all the charging points as we've all got so many devices thesedays, its a big plus! Sorry to hear that the breakfast didn't unfortunately live up to expectation as the high standard the UK Premier Inn's have set? The food is always lovely & hot & loads of choices in all I've stayed at in the UK. Enjoyed seeing the walk from the hotel into the centre, not too far at all. Glad you enjoyed your stay there, happy weekend all of you. Xx
Oh that would have made a good title or thumbnail Debbie...Premier Inn German Style!. Glad the video was of interest to you. Sorry not uploaded on Disney Brownies, just been a bit hectic - but next video coming tomorrow Sunday 8am. The Premier Inn Cologne City Sud Hotel was great for value and location. I agree with you Premier Inn Breakfast in UK can't be beaten for what you get and value and especially when you get kids FREE!, we love Premier Inn and love their Breakfast, just a shame the one we had in Germany was definitely not the same. Absolutely didn't put us off the Hotel though as for value, comfy beds, location it was great - would highly recommend and return. Just would prefer a pastry in a German bakery I think. Happy Weekend xx
Hi guys...so sorry but within our video I didn't include getting to and from the station but it is in the video description to help anyone. A taxi from the Train Station which is right outside the Cathedral cost 12 Euros to the Premier Inn Cologne City Sud Hotel and the journey was approx 5 minutes. The Premier Inn staff were really great and they did book us a taxi for our return journey, but as the taxi's don't have to come far we didn't need to book ahead just 5-10 minutes before you needed. The taxi firms all reliable and a great way to get to this Premier Inn and for the return journey, especially if you have lots of luggage!. This Premier Inn is not far from the station, walkable if not much luggage, possibly 15-20 mins - but as we had 3 cases (given that we had done a Holiday to Disneyland Paris prior to this one), we also didn't want the hassle of other public transport so a taxi was perfect!. Hope you find the video useful and do drop us a comment, we would love to hear from you.x
Thanks for that, I had no idea that it was the case in the UK too - any I have stayed in haven't adopted that policy yet, so unless it's new. I suppose you can understand in some respects, but then if you want clean towels/rubbish emptied etc it seems a bit much to go to reception to book this in - especially when there is a large queue. I can understand cutting costs and ways of saving on things they don't have to do. Me for one is not bothered about an actual clean or bedding when a few nights, as in only you staying but some basics I think they should do that without you having to ask. All new ways though like many things, things change and some changes can be for the better. At least one thing with Premier Inn you usually know what you are getting and cost wise often great value, so we can't have everything. Thanks so much for taking the time to comment - hope you had a great Christmas and New Year break and a wonderful time at your Premier Inn.x
The room looks comfy, I would be so miffed at the breakfast I really dislike cheese and pastrys and continental breakfast is just not me. That bacon and those sausages didn't look very appetising either. Be interesting to see mcdonalds in Germany. I always go to mcdonalds when I'm away just to see the differences. New York mcdonalds breakfast is the best. Dublin had a shamrock milkshake when I went and we're supposed to be getting it here next week, to me it tasted like mouth wash and went in the bin but that's just my opinion haha x
Hi Tracey, staying here was great for value and location and beds were comfy...oh I meant to put a note in the video and just in case you or anyone else are interested - seems to be in Germany regardless of a double bed, you get single quilts each, a bit different to UK but did kind of work as you have your own covers. McDonalds video only very short, but also I am aware that some of our videos are quite long sometimes - so short ones in there can be better for some people....question is did we like the German McDonalds better or not?, find out next week - that will be Wednesday video. We have been to New York and Dublin but never tried McDonalds, usually we wouldn't as prefer more local cuisine but Emily was the one that really wanted to try...you know what teens are like!. Thanks for watching as always & Happy Weekend xx
@ If you haven't visited Mc Shit in N.Y. yet, then you haven't really missed out anything. Oily fries, thrown-together BigMac and watery Coke, at least @ the ones I've been to. I've never seen an American who didn't rate the European stores worse in terms of taste and quality, on the contrary, usually better.🙂
@@traceymcardle896 Never thought of that before, so seemed a bit different when in Germany but obviously maybe not so different and maybe lots of people used to this.
Hot food in the morning for Germans is somehow like pork kebab for Turks. Nevertheless, there are baked beans, eggs, scrambled eggs and better tasting sausages than in the UK. Otherwise, in GER you eat smoked ham, salami, cheese, quark with either just salt or jam, or just jam. The main meal is lunch, so you don't necessarily need hot food for breakfast. And in the evening there is often just something lighter, like bread with something on it, so that you don't have to carry anything heavy in your body through the night. Just for your information. Nice vid anyway. Come in summer next time...😃
Hi and thanks for all that info, great to note and for the comments for other people too. For breakfast we definitely preferred going to the local bakeries in Cologne, it was much nicer. I think given that we are from the UK and Premier Inn within the UK have set a high standard for Breakfast given the price and value you get with it, comparing to what we had here just wasn't the same and of course when you are in another countries lots of things can vary but I was just comparing the value of the breakfast to the UK and just generally what was there wasn't for us. The actual Hotel though, location and value was great and we would definitely recommend and stay there again. Agree, Summer would be beautiful...we just have so many places we want visit, it's hard fitting them all in ha ha. Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment.

We stayed in a Premier Inn between Christmas and New Year in the UK and there you had to request a room clean too

The Newyork mcdonalds breakfast is so much better in my opinion.
Single quilts is perfect for me. We have a quilt each on our bed at home. X
