    My skin loves aloe. I have them almost exclusively for all of my injuries haha I’ve got my husband using it too. I tried storing the gel in a jar but it went rancid so I would suggest people only cut off a small part of what they need, or cut a whole leaf and slice off small amounts at a time allowing it to callous or dry off in between. It’ll store the gel for weeks/months

    • @SucsForYou
      @SucsForYou  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes! I like to keep a couple leaves in the fridge - feels so cool when it's hot out!

    • @AriellaKK
      @AriellaKK 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I store a leaf in the fridge if needed. Then I cut off the open end each time. It does last quite a while that way, I agree.

    I'm so sorry to hear that you lost your mom in 2003. It's so great that you have such a beautiful plant to remember her by. I just bought 2 houseplants recently so I can grow them in my grandparents memory. Thank you so much for sharing a great video Andrea! My aloe vera are so easy.. I grow them in indirect, but bright light indoors and only have to water about once every 3 weeks (for the big guys). My other aloes like about 6 hrs of morning sun indoors. I live in Florida so the heat and excessive sun really damages my plants quickly in the afternoon.

If it gets above 92f it turns orange, if it gets a good rain it turns very green. now that the nights are getting into the high 50s it’s changing color again. Mine is potted on a south facing balcony. What’s the minimum temperature you think I could safely keep it outside since it’s potted? Older leaves always go and lie down flat and only new ones are upright. I heard that leaves tend to shrink when underwatered but I think its not the case. Should shrinked leaves go full again when watered? Whats wrong with those plants?

The stock has bent over. The plant is heavy. The limbs that had the ice on it look wrinkled. I just have to know is applying ice cubes directly on to the plant stalk normal. Is applying ice cubes, even a healthy way to water?. Someone told him that's how she watered her Pointtsetts. And because he's stubborn he thinks it's o k to do this to all plants. Help!!

    • @SucsForYou
      @SucsForYou  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Is this for real, Barbara? 😅
      There is no way ice cubes will provide enough water to flush the pots and provide oxygen to the roots. And Aloes are pretty thirsty for succulents. Watering any plants with ice cubes, yes even orchids, is ill advised.
      Sorry, Ma.
      Applying ice to a subtropical plant will surely cause frost-damage the tissue. I'm currently protected my A. maculata from the cold/freeze. It's best to water by mimicking natural rain fall. Just sparingly use a can or a hose 🤷🏽‍♀️

      Yes, this is real. He is so stubborn!!!! I read your response to him. He thanked me and looked like his feelings were hurt. Hopefully he will stop this insane practice.❤❤ He will believe anyone except me. Lol

    Where do you get your plants? Is there a great nursery near you for succulents or do you mostly order online?

    • @SucsForYou
      @SucsForYou  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Both! If you're in the states my go-to suggestion is this company: mountaincrestgardens.com/?aff=5 -- I also have a page on my site w/ where to buy sucs, seeds, etc -- sucsforyou.com/where-to-buy-succulents/

      Thanks. I’m in Louisiana and there aren’t great places to shop where I’m at just big box stores. I’d love to visit a succulent specific nursery. I see you have a lot of options in Houston.
