No sir Michael was performing as a child when Janet was like a baby. Like back in the 60s or even younger he started with his brothers. "The Jackson 5" as much Michael became more of a force as a solo artist. But to understand what he became you must go back to where he got started. He was so talented as a child his greatness was just unraveling
The Jackson 5 was introduced to the world 1969. I was 5 years years old and they were instant icons even had their own Saturday morning cartoon show. Janet was introduced to us in the mid 70s on the CBS Jackson variety TV show…then The tv show Good Times where she played Penny.
@@lanceflx63 actually in 1968 by the band member Robert Taylor of the Four Tops he was the one that set up the audition with berry Gordy through Suzanne passe. But he was still singing before he got discovered with.his brothers at a earlier age I'm older than you think right I remember the cartoons their own variety show i was young also.
@@wakeupstopsleeping6300 that’s only partially true. Motown changed their origin story. The truth is that Jackie, Tito, and Jermaine started a group with friends. Jermaine became the lead singer. Marlon and Michael were not even supposed to be in the group because they were too young. Later on …Michael and Marlon were asked to step in and Michael enjoyed the attention. Michael was 7 at this time. Michael was not performing at 5. This was another lie made up at the time. Everyone agreed having Michael as the lead would be more interesting so he became lead over Jermaine. Everyone agreed at the time Michael could sell the cuteness factor and it could work for them. Joe didnt take the group seriously at first. It was basically Jackie and 2 of his friends along with Jermaine and Tito having fun. But once Joe figured out the group could maybe work - the original members of the group (Jackie’s friends) were let go - Joe decided the group could only be his sons. They were signed to Steel Town records for about a year. It was awhile before anyone professional saw them / but they eventually met Bobby Taylor and Gladys Knight who helped move their career along and had them introduced to Berry Gordy. Michael was 9 by the time they signed to Motown. So, yes, when they got to Motown - Motown created a new origin story for them and they had to tell the same “lie” for many years. It’s called marketing. It got so bad Michael would joke that he wasn’t she how old he was when interviewers asked him (of course at the time they didn’t understand why he would be confused about a simple question). But of course The Jacksons revealed the truth many years later.
No Michael started with the Jackson 5 in 1964 and went solo in late 70s. This song was written to answer the scrutiny and criticism the media showed him over his controversial issues toward the end. Janet agreed to do this song and video with him to help him make a statement and I was very excited since this was the first time since they were kids that they had really performed together. Sadly I heard later in an interview Janet did that she was very saddened because she had looked forward to doing this with her brother like old times but didn't get to even be on the set at the same time with him due to all of the paranoia surrounding his situation at the time. It really is an amazing song and performance though and really shows both their similarities and uniqueness.
They were on set at the same time. The whole creative and filming process was done with both of them together. Theres like thousands of behind the scenes photos of them on set laughing and stuff together.
It doesn’t get better than the Jacksons. Michael and Janet gave so much to pop music I love the scene in Janet’s documentary when they were writing this together
I've been following Michael since I was a kid in the 80's, the truth always comes out, like it did w/ R.Kelly, Hugh Hefner, Harvey W. & Bill Cosby etc: ...Michael Jackson has never been convicted of anything. He died an innocent man!😌❤
And people who would have spoken out, like Corey Feldman and Macaulay Culkin, both spoke up and said that Michael never did anything to them. Corey has been naming names since forever. They kept reporting that kids slept in his room, but Michael's room had two levels, and the parents slept with their kids on the next level. If anyone was in his bed, it was huge and the parents were there too, and they hung out, watching movies and stuff. The accusations were just extortion and character assassination, plain and simple. Quite frankly, Michael seemed ace to me. As an ace person, I've gotten that vibe from him.
"He was around since the early 80's?" WHAT??? Try again. He was around since the late 60's. 🤦 As for allegations, after years of surveillance, surprise raids, searches, and false allegations, he went to court and was found Not Guilty on 10 charges. Amazing song, amazing colab and amazing video. 👑
Not guilty on all 14 charges unanimously by the jury. He was the most famous person behind Jesus, incredibly wealthy and perceived as vulnerable - a huge target for greedy people.
Michael Jackson wrote with song because he was ABSOLUTELY pissed off with the media because they wouldn't stop picking on him. That's the reason why I love that this is the one time in his music that we can hear him drop an f-bomb. "Stop pressing me. Just stop FUCKING with me. Make me wanna scream." Also when he swipes his fingers up his throat to his chin, that was his low-key way of flipping people off.
Yeah, you're right - they were definitely venting! Janet had just signed the biggest recording contract in history and Michael had the allegations against him and his career was suffering, so Janet reached out to do a song with him to show her support. The song is with Janet's production team and the dance is Janet's choreographer.
The Jackson 5 debut was 1964. Michael’s solo debut was 1969. He was born the same year as me and Prince 1958. I’ll be 64 on Saturday. This duet song and video was sending a message in 1995, Live Michael and Janet and creators, dancers and vocalists. He also did Leave Me Alone 1987.
Many years ago I had an alarm clock where you could record the sound you wanted to wake up to. One day I put on the Scream from this record and left the clock all set to wake the wife. Suffice to say there was no tea waiting for me when I got home.
One of my favorites. I'd always wanted to see Janet and Michael dance together and this video fulfilled that desire. You may also want to check out "Leave Me Alone" for another song where Michael is a little edgier.
Well I mean he was around since the late 60s. Got his start as part of the Jackson 5. Signed a record deal and became famous at only 11 years old. The Jackson 5 spawned 4 consecutive US number 1 hits in 1970 and had about a dozen more hits throughout the 70s. MJ started his solo career in 1971 at 12 while part of the Jackson 5 but didn't start officially separating himself from the group and Motown until the late 70s. That's when he came out with Off The Wall. The first of 6 groundbreaking albums he made in his adult solo career. He's had at least 1 top 20 US hit in 7 consecutive decades. The 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s, 10s and 20s (Thriller re-entered the chart and charted high for Halloween 2021 making it 7). An incredible accomplishment that no other artist likely will ever achieve. Great reaction though! More MJ! Especially his 90s stuff when he was angry and speaking his mind.

I love your words about Michael. The accusations and negativity come from the outside. All of Michael’s friends, family and associates have nothing but good things to say about his character. Check out Square One here on TH-cam. The creator of this documentary thought that he was guilty but after making this documentary and doing the research and interviews, he had to change his position on this.
This was Janet’s heyday career wise. Michael was in the middle of a significant career dip due to the allegations. He asked her to come on to duet and she said yes because she finally felt like she stood on her own without folks saying she was riding his coat tails. An interesting note, Janet and her producers (Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis) were not happy how Michael’s production team reworked her vocals after they got ahold of it. You’ll notice they are a bit “under” the music, as opposed to Black Cat (similar vocal style for her) where her voice is front and center.
Michael was actually a guest a few times on the Sonny and Cher show and later the solo Cher from the 70s you can find music medley from the show here on TH-cam
This is untrue. The beginnings of the Jackson 5 was all marketing. Michael was 11 when the Jackson 5 had their first hit. I’m a MJ fan and I like when the truth is told. It’s no one’s fault…the Jackson’s were told to lie about their origin story when they got to Motown. It’s understandable how people who don’t know much about the family still think everything they said in the beginning was true. Michael had to lie about his age to prolong the cuteness factor. The real story is that Michael was 7 when the Jackson 5 starting performing in clubs around Gary and in Chicago. He was 9 going on 10 by the time they signed with Motown. That’s what people don’t understand- the entertainment business is an illusion. They sell an image to the public. The Jackson 5 had to learn to follow along. By the way, this still exists in the entertainment business. Record labels have all the control.
No, his solo career started in the 1970s..he had 4 solo albums before Off the Wall. No one talks about those 4 albums and acts as if Off the Wall was the first solo album and it wasn't.
One last thing might I suggest the Earth song video by Michael Jackson ...You want to see powerful you need to check that out for sure...also great insights into music that you don't really see on TH-cam...keep it up
Talk about memories.. I used to watch that all the time when it came out in the nineties... I'm not a big MJ fan but I appreciate his music, he was very big back then in my country, and maybe in the world ... I love this song and how it shows a real siblings relationship between those two
This video was made like 100 years ago and still ahead of its time. My sister and I use to do the "breakdown dance routine" step by step from memory. LOL
A timeless blend of amazing visuals/ effects, 2 of the greatest performers in pop history, a bit "out of the box" style for them, great visual and lyrical themes.... all set against an amazing song, with some of Michael's signature style guiding the background..
Great reaction, as so often with you. Love your philosophing, you’re a deep thinker and you share your thoughts so well. Have studied Jackson’s case for long, and he’s innocent. He was the perfect target for extortion attempts. Very sad. He only wanted to do good, and help others. He was extremely empathic, and those types are an easy prey for narcissists. He actually shared that he wanted to be remembered foremost for his humanitarian work, as opposed to his art. A beautiful soul and we’ll never see anyone like him again. Please make more MJ reactions, they’re wonderful. 🙏
When we were visiting my sister, who had moved to study iin a city (we lived in the countryside), MTV was on the TV. This video was playing on heavy rotation and my father said after a while: "those two women are flying around again".
ah Michael Jackson has been around since the 60s, don't forget that he was the most famous child star after Shirley Temple, he was the star of the boy group The Jackson Five with his older brothers ( his father was pretty terrible with him kind of forcing him to work no stop his whole childhood, making fun of his big nose ( the reason he changed his nose until practically disappear ) His start his solo career I'm 1979 with the Album Off the Wall, I was a tiny little boy but I remember his impact, he was considering a musical God of sorts, the adoration was something I never saw any other artist ever receive besides the Beatles in England
Anton, I'm just now watching your reaction. I agree with you. This video is awesome. People don't know what happen because we wasn't there. On another topic. Michael Jackson was and still is phenomenal this day. Janet still awesome today. Beautiful spirits.
Another terrific reaction video, Anton. This is one of MJ’s best songs and the fact Janet’s on it too is icing on the cake. And the video, WOW! A couple of things which might be of interest to you and your fans… Whilst the music video seems like they had a really great time making it, the exact opposite was true, at least for Janet. In her recent documentary, she talks about the process of writing, recording and filming it, and it was quite harrowing for her. He basically did the vocals in one take blowing away the producers and you expertly captured this strength in your video. Janet, however, had a very tough time recording the vocals because it seemed it took a while before it was good enough - the implication being that MJ also had issues, at least initially. But worse still was when it came to making the music video which was not supposed to cost as much as it did. It blew out because it went from a 3 day shoot to a two week shoot - ON A UNIVERSAL SOUND STAGE with all the costs involved including the huge crew. And Janet claims she was essentially locked out of the building when she wasn’t doing her scenes which broke her. Till this day she says she can’t quite understand what happened but thinks it might have had something to do with bringing out a competitive spirit between them which makes no sense to me. This really goes against what I’ve thought for the last 23 years which is that they looked like they were having so much fun. Smoke and mirrors, apparently. Anyway it’s all in the video below. Enjoy. th-cam.com/video/IbOcGAU7w-M/w-d-xo.html
Hi! About the recording process, Michael recorded his vocals twice. Producer Jimmy Jam has sayed that Michael re recorded his vocals after he listened to Janet’s. There are a couple of interviews that you can dind in TH-cam
Hey there, new subscriber here, I've seen some of your Michael & Janet reactions. I feel like its a tough task to be introduced to them both at the same time, because they both are specific 1 of a kind top tiers in ways that shaped the industry & musicians that followed despite genres or genders. What makes discovering both harder for someone I'd imagine is that in their differences, it's a bit easier to get why Michael is MICHAEL, but with Janet its different, she had to find her way to the prominent position in the industry she eventually got to, whilst having the the shadow of "Michael's sister" over her every corner, yet she still craved her own lane & did things he didn't & couldn't & opened doors for women entertainers in ways nobody else had, so I could be wrong but I feel like its not greatly seen as how much of a monumental moment this was. Michael approached her for duets twice before she said yes to this because she did not want it to seem like a song with him to help her career is a given. (Too there's alot of non fans who legit think the only reason Janet was successful was because of him, and there's 5 other brothers & 2 other sisters of theirs that prove that false). But this really was a joint effort, 1 of the best parts of Janet's documentary is showing them writing their lyrics together & being in the studio together. I really want you to do more Janet, cause it seems like you're getting it with Michael & like you're getting good recommendations, but as you saw with That's The Way Love Goes, Janet has moods & vibes that are strictly HER, and this song was about merging the things that made both of their styles unique
All that & I forgot to give you recommendations that I think would open you up to Janet more 1. Black Cat (it's a heavy metal song that she composed & wrote by herself & 1 other producer for the guitar stuff), 2. Rhythm Nation 3. If 4. What About 5. Nasty
The visuals in this video still look good today. It’s a great song and video elevates it. There’s a lot of drama in the music, lyrics and vocals, similar to the drama in dirty diana
I'd LOVE to see Paris Jackson do this song/video with her dad singing/doing Janet's parts! If she can only do one song with her dad make it this one! I mean if Hank Jr could sing with his dad in a video (There's a Tear in my Beer) 35 years ago...
Just to let you know Larger Than Life only cost just over 3 million with inflation added and is 17th most expensive video...it is tied with Michael Jacksons video for Remember The Time . Scream is still number one on the list.
Scream still sits at number one for the most expensive video ever made. It's original cost was 7 million with inflation it sits at 11 million, here are the top five. 01.) "Scream" Michael/Janet Jackson 02.) "Die another day" Madonna 03.) "Express yourself" Madonna 04.) "Bedtime Story" Madonna 05.) "Estranged" Guns & Roses "Larger than life is" #17, both Michael and Janet have two additional videos ahead of them (Back Street Boys and the Lager than life video). Michael: "Black or White' #06 & 'Bad" #16, Janet: "Doesn't really matter' #11 & 'What's it gonna be?" #14
I remember when this premiered on Tv! Sad part is that Janet said it wasn’t fun to make as she thought it would be since Mike’s team made sure that he was separated from Janet when they weee filming…Janet filmed during the day, Mike filmed during the night unless they had a scene where they filmed together.
Great reaction I would recommend reacting to They don't care about us by Michael Jackson the message behind the song is powerful and one of my favorites

LOL
One of the best videos of all time. Those two together are super incredible.
I still have this song on my playlist. Video is great too.
Michael began his career at 8 years old as the lead singer of the Jackson 5 in the early 70s.
Everything is amazing about this song: the singing, the video photography, the dancing… love them and seeing together was just epic!
PLEASE REACT to Janet Jackson - Black Cat VMA Performance 1990
The king
Enjoy.

Hi! About the recording process, Michael recorded his vocals twice. Producer Jimmy Jam has sayed that Michael re recorded his vocals after he listened to Janet’s. There are a couple of interviews that you can dind in TH-cam
MJ forever innocent
They assemble like the avengers and made history with this track.
Nasty
@@J.Fro90 Michael loved Black Cat. He played it on the carousel at Neverland, and loud!
Aaaah MJ and Janet great combo ❤️🙌🙌👑
Michael era un grande, Janet espectacular con él cuando están juntos es increíble. Gracias por reaccionar
Most expensive video of all time
The visuals in this video still look good today. It’s a great song and video elevates it. There’s a lot of drama in the music, lyrics and vocals, similar to the drama in dirty diana
Janet & Michael both Icons !
Michael was “around” since 1969 if you count his first tv performances :)
Please watch Stranger in Moscow if you haven’t yet 🙏 love the vids!
01.) "Scream" Michael/Janet Jackson
02.) "Die another day" Madonna
03.) "Express yourself" Madonna
04.) "Bedtime Story" Madonna
05.) "Estranged" Guns & Roses
"Larger than life is" #17, both Michael and Janet have two additional videos ahead of them (Back Street Boys and the Lager than life video). Michael: "Black or White' #06 & 'Bad" #16, Janet: "Doesn't really matter' #11 & 'What's it gonna be?" #14
Off the Wall Album. So amazing. Groove Funk / disco
Facts don’t lie people do

I brought to you a song ALL IN YOUR NAME by BARRY GIBB (BEE GEES) features MICHAEL JACKSON this song almost 12 years old
Still is the most expensive made video in record history
No sir, MJ started at the age of 5. Pkease react to the Jackson Five- who's loving you. Their debut on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1969. Mj was 11 at the time.
Michael started at 7. They were told to lie about their origin story by their record label Motown. Young…but not 5
Mj 👑❤️
I agree
MJ was a great guy
The greatest that ever was. Long live the King of Pop.
Timeless
Great review, you nailed it!!
The most expensive video made!.. Janet does a performance on 2009 vma.. so good
Best sibling song ever. Sorry just my opinion. And I miss both them even if Janet’s here still, it’s like a part of her is gone for sure with micheal gone.
E' il videoclip piu' costoso della storia...un altro record x Michael,.🤩
A lot of knees were broken in attempts to recreate that dance break. Mine included
Yaaassssss! 💜💖❤ -x-
Thank you!
6:32 no, Michael’s been around since the late 60s when he was in the jackson 5.
Still the most expensive music video ever made?...

Yup it’ll never be broken simply cause Short Films aren’t made anymore MJ is a true genius!👑🌟
Awesome Classic. Awesome Reaction!! Loved the commentary at the end. 💙💙
Micheal has been around since he was like 8 approximately. The jackson 5 were a big act in the 60s and 70s.
