Can attest. I have the northern shrike and 2 kitchen knives. Love them.

Glad to see that the models of Evan’s knives I have are on this video, great blades.

Very attractive knives, but I would want to know what type of steel is used and at what hardness before purchasing a knife in that range.

That's fair! I should have specified... It varies by type of knife and intended purpose, but Evan is particular to Magnacut CPM and Elmax. He uses some other steels in the bush crafting blades... but I can't recall the types offhand.

That’s an amazing assortment of top quality blades right there!!
I tend to err on the side of a beefier knife when in the backcountry in case I find myself in a pickle and need more of a bushcrafting blade. I’d be drawn to one like that Kestrel if I had the need. I do see the utility of the Northern Shrike in the front country for me though. Small, light, nimble, just enough knife.
I have to admit after I discovered Bark River Knives some years ago that I purchased all the knives I’ll need for a lifetime. I don’t have a need for one of Evan’s blades but they sure look nice.
Thanks for sharing and please keep the videos coming JVB!

First you have a best friend who is a custom knife maker then you tell him how great his work is then give him one of your pre64’ and tell him what you want then he makes you 4 custom knives for you and your 3 sons just the way you want them🙌 End of story!

I bought a northern strike and found it a little small for my big paws. So I called Evan and bought a meadowlark. Oh boy, is that knife awesome, and yes, I went with the premium legendary magnacut steel 👍

SOG Pillar is the best fixed blade I’ve owned. It just does everything well

Nice knives but a skilled hunter \woodsman can take a Buck 110 and accomplish the same with quite a less budget. I will say Benchcraft and MKC is worth the money. If you know how to sharpen a knife, your in a great position.
