    I want to add a cervical neck pillow has helped me a lot as well as gentle yoga for posture and movement. I was bed bound for two months and couldn't move from screaming pain. It took prayer, vitamins, eating greens, cervical pillow, watching these two great guys, working on posture with yoga and small walks around the block to get me to be able to stand, shower, walk and now drive again. I'm still in pain and also had an autoimmune flare but I changed my diet. I even learned to breathe right and calm my stress and anxiety. If we want health it is hard work but self care is best. Took me 38 years, single Mom with two kids and lots of hardship to get where I am but it's possible. Best of luck to anyone suffering!

    Thanks for the good advice. I have applied so many of your various techniques/exercises to my routine for stretching and strengthening to cancel out the poor work posture habits that have caused some restrictions in normal range of motion activities. I have also learned that if you put a small lumbar support at your waist line(while sitting) it will automatically correct your thoracic/cervical posture as well. Serving as a reminder to keep your head up!

    I have cervical spine arthritis, rotator cuff tears and pain, ache gets intense, now with 2nd physical therapy in new town that focuses on mobility, other pt focused on strength, both on stretching and flexibility but I'm still in pain. 1st pt said that probably won't completely go away, thinking that his treatment of strength, neck stretches and movement was better, though. Concerned new pt doesn't focus on strength enough so I'm confused which is best. Don't want to lose strength I had.

When I put my neck back as far as it would go as to look up, this sends pain right down the left shoulder to the arm and thumb which is numb all the time. I never did anything to warrant this and think it may have happened while sleeping as I am a very restless sleeper. Now back for yet more physio but first I have to get my knee back in shape. • @teamspeak9374
      @teamspeak9374 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I know this was 2 years ago but if this helps anyone else a simple exercise you can do is getting into a good standing posture and pulling your shoulder blades up to your ears (in a completely vertical position not slouching your back to make them touch ) and holding them for 30 seconds (or how much you can). Do 2 sets of 5-10 reps, if it starts getting too easy add weights to your hands (water cannisters for instance)
      I have the exact same problem as you, constant pain on the right side of my neck/upper back but i've actually gotten a lot better by doing posture fixes exercises twice a day,shoulder strengthening exercices a few times a week and some stretches here and there throughout the day. Pain went from a constant 6/10 to an occasional 1-2/10 over the course of a few months with no medication. Also the most important thing is too have good posture throughout the day, no point in making posture fixing exercises if you then sit like a pretzel 4 hours in your chair

    What about getting shots in the neck. They want to do this to my husband. I told him to try pt instead of a shot. What do your doctors think? Thank you

      We do suggest PT first, but in some cases this may be your best option. It all depends on the specific situation
