Lol this is impossible unless you've been doing a lot of running for a long time. Your finishing time was a dead give away. Still astoundingly fast for 2 weeks of training specifically for this mileage, even if you were already in running shape
Exactly!
Absolutely agree. I think that videos like these should have a disclaimer at some point. It is quite misleading for people who are not runners. And in honestly, even dangerous.
I mean the video was entertaining and Jack’s production value keeps getting better. But still, smh for misleading.
@@obidr not at all. You'd have to be a fool to believe you could train for a marathon in 2 weeks with no prior running experience. There's no need for a disclaimer. It's a fun video, it's not meant to be serious!
look at his reply to my comment, he's a liar! @@leomcgrane93
@leomcraine your actually the dumb one here
If anyone needs marathon training advice, Colin is open for business

i call bullshit
We need a Colin and Samir/Yes Theory/Jack Coyne Video ASAP!
The three of you are a sure shot hit! We need more of you
Haha this skips the part of how to train to be able to run 8 miles
Just keep going, don’t worry about speed. You’d be amazed at how far you can go once you push past that first really tough part.
I agree you had a really good base to start! I little clickbaity but liked the video. Well done on the run!
Jack Coyne Agreed! Once you get past that first part, it’s actually kind of easy.
Jack Coyne he built a base on the treadmill over the course of 12 months. He said so in the comments.
LOOLLLL
Nicely done! For anyone thinking about doing this, notice he could already run 8 miles pretty quick to begin with. He may not have been running prior, but he's been building cardio somehow. If you aren't already fit you can't do this.
I'm a runner and when I started I could run for about 2 minutes before needing to walk. I was in very bad shape but not fat. It took 6 months before I did an 8 mile run at about 11 mintue pace.
You definitely had some form of prior training, or you're just naturally very talented
I do soccer cross country and track I don't think I can walk a marathon I can run half marathon
He started with 8 miles at faster than 9 minute pace. Definitely prior training.
look at his reply to my comment, he's a liar.
@@piknick111 what
exactly this is fake, he have good speed in marathon like he usually does it
the clickbaity title makes it seem as if you can go from 0-26.2 miles in two weeks and run a marathon in less
As someone who's running the half in 2 days - this is kind of incredible.
Can I join #klossyrunclub ??
Remember, it's not your lungs and legs....it's your nipples. The chaffing; plus inner thighs, armpit area. Protect those areas- you're golden. You have the perfect physique for it Karlie....and form follows function.
Good luck.... :0
Bit of a clickbait video. You had a GREAT time for the marathon, but for you "first" run to be 8 miles you definitely have been running for a good amount of time already.
As a runner myself, it is a fun video but please... DO NOT TRY THIS!
I did it this year with 4 weeks of training. I do not recommend
Exactly. 2 weeks of training, which included 1 week of not training. Obviously fit enough to do the Marathon without the 2 weeks of whatever he was doing.
Can I just say how no one ever seems to be happy for Jack in anything that he does in any of his videos? Big ups for running a marathon. Way to crush it
Thanks bro
What is your typical mileage per week when not training for a marathon?
Cmon, you have been running awhile. No way you finish in 3:30 without previously running more than 2 weeks. Still loved the video
Liam Murphy he revealed that he had been doing some running on the treadmill for a year prior to this
Mate, that title is not a good idea for people who want to start running, you obviously had previous training ! It is impossible to train for a marathon in 2 weeks starting from zero shape
LOL don't believe this video guys, this guy definitely had prior training or been running before those two weeks
Well done Jack! I've done 2 myself, training over several months with a background in running, and even still it's a huge feat, so well done, what an amazing accomplishment! Excellent video too.
This video feels so like having a 50 pages essay to write and only 2 days left
The storytelling and editing is on point man! You definitely made sure to learn as much as possible from Casey!!
I hope no one goes out for a race and kills themselves after watching how easy this looks!
I'm running my firt half marathon on May 11, 2019. I've lost 23 pounds in the last 8 months, almost 3 years since ACL surgery. I'm in the best shape of my life. I'm so excited!
Haha that burger bite at the end is legendary 😂 big props to you for completing in such a good time!
I trained for a marathon 18 weeks out and my time was no where close to yours. Props to you for a great time and also for finishing!
This is epic. Surprised I didn’t see this earlier. Hopefully your NYC marathon goes great dude
As someone who has run 5 marathons and trained thoroughly for all of them I’m not sure if I should be annoyed or super impressed by this. Great job
Jack. You’re a beast, dude!
🏃♂️
Thought my marathon was postponed until spring 2021, I found out yesterday that it's actually in 3 weeks....... Wish me a whole lot of fucking luck!!!
omg what an insane story! love love love this video and the editing is gorgeous!
Glad you’re back great cideo
You are an absolute nutter and I love it. Congrats Jack, you did yourself & your Dad more than proud!
Thanks Bro 💪
Impossible without more training then this. Why post video's like this when they are a lie? I am 29 years old and have run my first marathon in 3,56 hours. And trained for 6 months with loads of miles.... And i consider myself a lot more fitter then jack (no offense) other then this i love your video's and great that your back! Keep up the good work!!
Clearly not fitter if he can finish a marathon faster than you bro
You have no clue what you're talking about. Why not run marathons to find out this is pure trash in reality. @@leomcgrane93
It is Just do damn fast it makes it not likely to believe. Running a marathon without training is already hard to believe, but Jack does it in 3.30 almost an hour faster then most ppl who run there first.....
There's rhetorical flair and then there's just total bullshit. Your first run is 8 miles? Not on this planet, dude. I know you're hunting for a story angle, but you could have done a marathon video without the fuckery about it being done in two weeks.
Loved this video Jack!
Proud of you man. Both with running and creativity.
Trying to wrap my head around this lol. I went from absolutely no working out for nearly 10 years to training for a marathon in 20 weeks. 2-0 not 2 😂…I logged 12 miles the first week and was blistered and sore to no end. Ran a half at week 8 in 1:48:00 and then finished with a 4:10:36 marathon in week 20. Was on pace for your 3:30 time but I hit the wall at mile 20. Amazing job! I don’t know how you did it with such little prep. Do you do any other endurance type activities aside from this?
There’s no way you can do 3:30 only training for two weeks, still loved the video, had fun watching it
You're a BEAST! ... WELL DONE, SIR, WELL DONE!!!
we miss u jack
Good story telling, inspiring and fun to watch. This was the PERFECT length of video. Thanks for not making it too long!!!!
Great video! keep them coming and ill keep watching!
Congratulations. Great time! You obviously have a good base of fitness already
Loved the video, it’s made me want to go back to running, and yes, if you’re not having fun, you’re doing something wrong!
Great video. Wonderfully shot and great story telling
HELL YEAH, BABY
You are doing mighty good work there Master Jack! Congrats! ☮️👀☮️
You killin it man!
This video is the story of my life. Down to the snowboarding trip and all..2 days before the Marathon!! hahaha! February is coming up quick!
Great story , Jack .... Respect! 👏🏻
welcome back ! Jaaaaaaaaaack
You kinda skipped the part that you have done some prior training because running 3:35 marathon requires loads of training. Also, out of curiosity why does the official time say 3:56 and you have written 3:35
I mean I had been going to the gym a few times a week for the last 12 months, and would often run 1-3 miles on the treadmill a couple times per week so it’s not like I was doing nothing before, but I wasn’t doing any distance training.
The clock on the finish line is for the official race start, but not everyone starts at the same time because there are too many runners. My start time was about 20 minutes after the first runners. You can look up my bib # on the la marathon website.
@@JackCoyne I appreciate you taking the time to answer and not feel insulted by my comment. I have been running for 3 years and I know the effort it takes to get where u did. So that why I questioned it. I should've congratulated you first before questioning. Well done.
Well done Jack! Well done! Love the edit and the music.
Another fantastic video, Jack! Great story telling techniques here, very inspiring.
Keep on going, Jack 🎉
I'm kinda in the middle of this right now... Just entered the Amsterdam marathon, which is in 12 days... I entered, followed by a google search: how to train for a marathon in two weeks. Did the NYC marathon before, so at least I now what to expect... but thanks for the video, gives me some confidence in this slightly foolish endeavour.
I'm ok with the clickbait title. What blows me away is how Jack could run almost as fast as Casey, when Jack hardly runs. Jack, you have a great set of lungs!
Hell yeah Jack 🤘🏽
Love this! I’m feeling motivated now
Fair play man that’s some good running 🏃♀️
4:30am: Fresh clean cut Jack (no mustache)
Jack, the living legend
🚀🚀🚀
Such a cool challenge and a great video to go along with it
Your pace is impressive!
The Yoga poses. 😂
A 1.51 half... and then a 3.35 you must run more than you let on!! Well done dude, great effort.
I want to try this now
You should!
Collab maybe guys?
JACK START UPLOADING... AND DON´T STOP! CONGRATs :)
Anyones thats ran half marathons or done cross country knows this video doesn’t add up. I believe you finished the marathon but even friends that did cross country in college that try to bounce back in 2 weeks cant do that well. Theyll finish it, but no criticism here, I believe you finished a marathon. My guess is 2 weeks will get you ready for maybe 15 miles but the miles get harder after that. Wouldve been cool if you provided recorded stats from a Nike app for the runs you did in your 2 weeks. Still, congrats! Finishing a marathon is still an amazing accomplishment
All my runs are here: www.strava.com/athletes/15385830
Jack Coyne Great man, I ran 7 miles today preparing for a marathon but 7.1 miles in 1:07 minutes. Trying to get under 1 hour. Best of luck on your NYC one
*1 hour and 7 min.
Jack your pace was insane for a newbie cool video man
Great video of you!!!!!
It blows my mind when people say they didn't train for a marathon and ran it. It's like 'yeaaah it was really hard but I did it'
Me? After 5 miles I'd stop and be like 'yeah, can't do it. didn't train for it' hahahah HOWWWWW!
Anyways, well done, Jack! Woohoo!! If I do decide to train for a marathon I'll make sure to go snowboarding
thats because its fucking bullshit, of course he had experience with running before..
You made it look TOO easy.. hahaha.. Nice video and congratulations!
yes he did 3 hour 35 minute not to shavy you need somewhere to start this shit is actually good first race your just on a slower side well it wont happen for long your technically on a fast side out of all the new runner noob which is great
Beat my PR, Congrats man!
This is some lying bs. You don't just start running a few days before a marathon and get an average 8 min pace. I run alot and have done many marathons. You've clearly been training, so quit making up a false narrative. Also your bib was listed under john coyne. . . . odd.
It’s not a false narrative, thanks for the skepticism. I spent the last 6 months at home with my dad who was dying of cancer not training for a marathon. Sorry my time doesn’t fit into your own skeptical pessimistic narrative.
@@JackCoyne yo man, this is a lie lol. I unsubscribed not sure what message what you were trying to send here... that you is a badass?? 😂
@@JackCoyne you aint casey neistat
I know reality. Sorry that seems too pessimistic to you and please, hold your sympathy card. . . that has nothing to do with what I'm talking about. @@JackCoyne
Pretty aggressive tone in this comment, seemingly for no reason. This is a lighthearted video, it's not a how to guide. I'm sure this guy was a runner before starting this; so what? Also, why does it matter what name he registered under? You're acting like you're exposing some huge conspiracy involving false identities. Jack is a very common nickname for John (e.g. my best friend's legal name is John but he's never gone by anything but Jack).
legend
💪💪💪
Literally just vlogged myself doing this very thing.... although I couldn’t run a single mile without stopping when I started so the fact you blasted out 47 miles in 2 weeks of training shows perhaps you’re somewhat of a runner or much fitter than i was 🤦🏻♂️
Well done buddy
Good job!!! 🎊
Good job - good running time :) Congrats!
If you follow Jack on Strava, it does show little to no prior training before the two week prep. I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt. Strong pace bud.
NonchalantGarage as Jack has said here in the comments, he trained in the gym for a year before this, on the treadmill.
Where have you gone? Haven't heard from you in ages.
Great pace!
Let's be honest. If you can train for a marathon in two weeks, you don't need training anymore. You're already fit enough.
I don’t run. Ever. I cycle a fair bit and I’ve just signed up for a marathon in 3 weeks time. I done my first run this weekend, Ended up being a 10.5 mile loop @ 8:14 per mile. Didn’t find it difficult from a fitness pov but my toes, ankles, knees and groin hurt for 3 days lol. no idea if I’ll make it, hence I’m on TH-cam looking at videos on how to run a marathon with no training 😂 plan is to spend lots of time on my feet and running in my running shoes for the next two weeks, have a week off and then run with a borrowed watch at 9min miles and a pocket full of energy gels 😂🤞🏻
you also forgot to mention that you have done a half marathon in 2014 so have some prior training. this is no couch potato to marathoner in 2 weeks..very misleading for some people that think its that easy to run a marathon
This is a really cool video, and to the people that are thinking he never ran prior before this then that’s just ridiculous. He has most likely been a casual runner before this but marathon training is extremely different from casual running. Much much more mileage and a different type of running training. So yea that’s how a “Casual Runner Trained For A Marathon In 2 Weeks”. if he wasn’t a runner prior to the training....the training for the marathon is suicide.
Thanks Diego 💪💪
Marathon at 8:13 pace after only 2 weeks? Very impressive! There has to be more to the story, though. After your first run (sub 8), I knew you had to be a decent runner before. Did you run in high school? Casey force you on runs? People who train for those 12-24 week plans would kill for your time.
This is insane shit bro. Congratulations. See you at 2019.
The way you finished that race was insane! I would have fallen to the ground at like mile 5!
Saw that cameo tab open when you clicked register
I could do that. The Fort Worth Cowtown Marathon is in 3 weeks I think I'll do it.
I'm more amazed at what you did 24 before the run. I'd be terrified!
Im impressed. You must have really strong legs. Im sure you are a healthy guy in general. Good job! Did you eat any calories during the run?
Disappointed in the lack of a suffer fest! Awesome job, way to crush it in a quick pace!!
8:13 miles not too bad for first marathon and 2 weeks training. Good job Jack
What a guy! Great video man, love your stuff, MAKE MORE VIDS! Lol
well done mate well done
That's so cool. I currently training to run a marathon. I actually started in January, with no condition whatsoever, and being a chubby f*ck. I was hardly able to run for 5 minutes. And believe me. It gets better with time. Today I sign up for half marathon that is happening in month's time. A day before my best mate's wedding. :D That was a weird flex. :P
Where's Jack gone?
Hi..where are you? Why the uploads stop?
Iconic old beme shirt!!
Man, I wish I was still young enough to do full-on crazy and incredibly foolhardy sh!t like this and live to tell the tale. Suck the marrow from the bones of life while you have the chance, Jack. All-in-all, a very respectable performance! 👍
bro I've been running a long time, last time I had an 8 minute mile pace was when I was in college. How the hell can you sustain that with only 2 weeks of training?
Do you have the exact song name by chance? Feels like a great tune to run to 😅
