      More people should put it on in the car.
      It might reduce road rage .and make u remember what mot important.

We can regard him a crosse in a sense just like every classical composer like Haydn, Gluck, C.Ph.E Bach etc. He wasnt an great innovater, and he can not be regarded even as a pre-romantician. I once heard a story....I'm sure it's been romanticized. Mozart apparently "forgot" to write an overture for this opera, and was only reminded of it an hour before its debut, by the conductor of that first performance. The story went on to say that he wrote this incredible piece of music in 15 minutes.
    Can this POSSIBLY be true ? If it is, then he simply WAS the single greatest artist, in any medium, of all time....

    • @nlhn638
      @nlhn638 ปีที่แล้ว +27

      I would believe it. His friends asked him what he was gonna play, or what it was going to be like, when they were in a bar some days before the concert. Mozart had no idea; he hadn’t even started writing yet.
      The night before the concert, he pulled an all nighter while his wife kept his awake and made many cups of coffee.
      His orchestra didn’t even do a practice run before performing; I don’t doubt this at all.

    • @nlhn638
      @nlhn638 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@celloplaysmusic7330 Maybe, but Mozart also had it happen. Mozart's talent was that he saw the music sheet as he heard the music in his head, and this happened near every time, which is basically a super power.
      I wrote a bit more on a previous comment in the chain, but I didn't include this fact.

    • @edgarvanoostrum8450

      I think the story is that he already had the ouverture "finished" in his head, but had not taken the effort yet to write down the scores for all the musicians in the orchestra (which can be a tedious chore indeed). In this case, I guess the moment the realization struck him that this still needed to happen, he was really short for time. But, hey, he made it ... 😎👍🏻

      I listened to Mozart from a very young age as well. I remember my mom having 3 DVDs of classical music when I was a child, probably since before I was born. I don’t remember what disks they were exactly or who made the disks, but I remember there being 1 disk for Beethoven, one for Bach, and one for Mozart. And I’m pretty sure the Mozart disk was yellow if memory serves me right. I don’t know if it had this overture on there or not, but I do remember K 545 and many other well known works being on there. And I’m sure I’ve heard this overture at least since I was 9, cause that’s when I really got serious about classical music as a listener.
      Yeah, I had to have, cause not only did I have those disks, but I also had TH-cam on my computer, and whenever I was in the car with my mom, she would set the radio, if it wasn’t already on there, to WOSU’s NPR Classical Music and there’d be all kinds of pieces played, familiar and unfamiliar, by composers I have and haven’t heard of. And I remember listening to the piano puzzler that would come on at a certain time on that radio channel.
      But yeah, I was raised on classical music, and Mozart and Chopin used to be my 2 favorite composers as a child. I’d often switch back and forth between being in more of a Chopin mood and being in more of a Mozart mood. I would binge listen to Mozart like crazy at times, like listening to all the symphonies in chronological order, all the string quartets in chronological order etc. I’ve probably heard more Mozart than I have any other composer in terms of piece count, cause I’ve easily heard over 100 Mozart pieces and I’m not even at that point with Beethoven yet.
      I still highly regard Mozart and love his music very much, even after Beethoven went from the bottom to the top for me as a teenager. Beethoven may be #1 for me now, but if I was to make a personal top composers list, Mozart would be #2.

    Hard to imagine beethoven without mozart's bridge from bach. Imho mozart was the archangel michael of all classical music, the prince. Mozart is not only the sweetest but the most proficient in traveling through musical reality in a way that anticipated all musical journeys that followed. Bach, though pleasant is an automaton in comparison. In short mozart is promethean. He lit the fire of romanticism without straying from the classical foundation.

    It makes me cringe that Justin Bieber has been compared to Mozart. They shouldn't even be in the same sentence. Mozart was quite simply the Albert Einstein of music, without equal to this day. At the age of fourteen he went to the Vatican, and heard a piece of music that could only be performed exclusively within its walls - so he went home and wrote it out from memory. Twelve minutes of music from his head. Incredible! (th-cam.com/video/vsDof3ShAjs/w-d-xo.html) The sheer quantity of music Mozart wrote in his relatively short life would take most people the same amount of time just to copy it out, let alone write it all from scratch. 'Genius' is a word that gets flung around rather a lot these days, but whether you like his music or not, there's no denying that it applies to Mozart, and even that doesn't seem to do him justice....

      Andrew Huntriss I recall a conversation I had a few months ago with a Taylor Swift fan.
      He told me that Taylor was better than Beethoven because she wrote Love Story in 30 minutes while lying on the floor.
      I replied that Beethoven wrote Symphony No. 9 in D Minor, a 110 minute work, while completely deaf, with nothing to reference, for around 100 instruments plus a choir and four soloists.
      Crappy logic, yes, but that kind of got the point across.

    depending on what type of color-mixing you talk about... on a canvas, all colors mixed together become dark brown or black...that's called subtractive color synthesis, but talking about light, all colors mixed together become white..that's called additive color synthesis.
    Apart from that, you're right - taste is subjective. And patterns are constantly altered and repeated up to a certain point where all harmonies, melodies, rhythms, etc. were once used and everything starts all over again.

    There is a reason that Marriage of Figaro is so well known to this day. It is not simply the association with marriage. It is one of Mozart's boldest choices for an opera. He used ballet music in it. That was a big fat NO for the Austrians since ballet of course was French. The Austrians and the French were constantly going head to head during the 18th Century (despite their royal families failed attempt for peace through the marriage of Marie Antoinette and Louis XVI). Therefore, Emperor Joseph II and his staff were very unimpressed to here that Mozart wanted to incorporate ballet into his next opera The Marriage of Figaro.

Have you tasted most of all genres underground and mainstream? Most importantly do you have an argument other then that you are part of 90 % of humans?
