This K5LA sounds so good I did a quick frequency analysis - and it turns out you'd be hard-pressed to find better tuning. Adjusted for Doppler/temperature, the notes are all within 1 Hz of nominal.
99% of the time, everyone loved it, we try to be courteous with the visitors and the virtual railcam, when a train is coming we will wait, watch the train then after the train passes we resume. It is like we are the commercial break and the train is the show. We even had an audience watching us lol
Where would I get that adapter on the bottom of your manifold? Do you have to have it? I have that set of horns. Thinking seriously about ordering the back rack. You should do a video of this set up. Thanks
Just 15 or 20 years ago they were all over. Then the fever took hold and you can't touch em.Ive got a crazy amount of $$$ in what I have and these guys put me to shame.😉😉
@@TheHomeSearcher I don’t say k horns has generations, this is before the 80s, I think it’s estimated 1976-1978. Before they started using O rings to seal, they used corked gaskets to seal. Which has the name “corker”

Nice K5LA, Sounds really good 😊😊
The pitch change from 2:02 to 2:06 is fun to hear!
Have you ever gotten complaints at the HSC? I couldn’t see why as those horns sound better then anything NS has possessed for over a decade.

Where is a good place for me to look for a corker or sandcast K5LA? I’d like to find one someday but I don’t know where to look.

Do you need to get a custom valve for the bottom of the manifold? The aluminum cylinder where your T ball valve is?
I was there for that.
I’m a train horn fanatic and I don’t understand how there are 2 different tones? Is it 2 sets of horns, or is it coming both from the single K5?
That sounds like the F40PH-3C I just caught today
